I've never riden before, have loved bikes for ages and am finally in a position to afford one soon. This is the first video I ever watch on how to ride & i really just wanted to thank you! Great job my friend.
I see so many disrespectful comments about this guys girl.Yes she is hot but have some respect for her and him.All Ur doing is showing that you have no class by making disrespectful comments....And thx for the video man.She did a great job
It was nice of your friend to allow her to use his bike. Good video and it seems like you are very patient. This is the exact bike I'm looking to buy, colour and all. Hope she's riding perfect now. Good luck to her.
Nice! She learned better than I did. I was stall city when I started on my F4i. I actually got to a point where I thought that I would never stop stalling.
Thank you for such an educational video. I just bought an 09 R6 and was confused on how to start on fist gear. Thanks to you and your girlfriend now I know how to do it in a safe way. Thank you.
Glad to see you encouraging her to take small steps in a safe environment. And free advice cheaper then the msf, of course the msf is still very valuable, either way great vid.
Its always good to see people's opinion about starting out, and to the winers about starting out on a 600, I started on a 05 GSX-R600. Never had a problem, great starter bike. Its all about control and respect for the bike. Know your limits! It's that simple!
I started on a old 1996 VFR750 sport-touring and it worked fine for me. 750cc is big displacement but the bike's power delivery is so different from a supersport. Good advice mate, and to all the newbs seeking to ride, it doesn't matter if you have a 85cc dirt bike or a 1300cc hayabusa, its all about throttle control, body posture, body coordination and awareness. Also respect the Law in addition to the bike. Don't be a showboat...the world already has too many of these.
Excellent video! Makes me feel more comfortable about riding now. Just picked up my bike today and have my first riding class next week just to be safe.
This is what you men should be doing! Spending quality time with your woman and teaching each other so that you grow together! Thumbs Up bro #RealManPlayHisRole
Dude, best part of this was teaching her to feel the clutch first, awesome job. Sad seeing new riders crash coz they're taught to use the throttle too early and have no sense of where the clutch is. My first lesson I rode around in a parking lot with only the clutch. Honestly the only good How to ride a bike vid on youtube. Sad thing is now you have to deal with all the questions haha! Good job man!
Finally someone that knows what they're talking about and appreciates the video. Thanks =). Yea, I don't mind the questions tho. The more informed people are out there on motorcycles, the best it'll be for the rest of us. Less squidding ha.
Great learning video man, glad to see you are teaching proper riding skills to her. My issue with this is that she is in shorts with a t-shirt. She only has gloves and a helmet on. At any speed if she falls she will leave her skin on the pavement. Invest into full gear man. Hope that she has already. Stay safe.

If you read my comment in full I did say "my issue with this is that she is in shorts with a t-shirt..." not everyone learned from a certified instructor like yourself man. People are free to learn as they so wish to do. You are going to give yourself a heart attack dude, ease up a little, safety is the concern here, but as adults they have the choice. I think she did rather well for her first time and hopefully she will wear full gear. Cheers dude.
She got off to a horrible beginning. Braking is taught and accomplished first before the engine ever gets started. You NEVER start off a first time person like that. You get them on a 125cc small bike. You DO NOT start the engine EVER - hide the key. You need at least 2 people. The new rider after being shown and understand every part and item on the motorcycle - they sit on the motorcycle with 2 feet down always. The second person is behind and pushes in a straight line. So when the new rider is ready they yell "go" and the person behind pushes....when the motorcycle is rolling straight ahead the person behind yells "stop". The new rider stops the motorcycle with the rear brake only. You do this over and over maybe 25 times. Then next you do the same but instead part 2 is use the front brake only each time. Maybe 25 times. Then part 3 is using both brakes equally maybe 25 times. A new person is not allowed to start the engine until they know how to stop. And be very comfortable at stopping smoothly. If that is all you do on your first day that is great. With no engine. So they have had the experience of stopping a motorcycle at least 75 times or more with no engine. There are hundreds of videos on TH-cam of "fails" of new riders getting on ... starting the engine and the motorcycle races into a fence or wall or something and the person has no clue how to stop the machine. If you can't stop a motorcycle with both brakes in a proficient smooth manner you are not allowed to start the engine. And two feet down for every stop and two feet up at the same time as soon as the person starts to push. The same when the engine is running some day. I have seen beginners fall over trying to use one leg or the other. One foot means the bike is tilted and unstable. That is how new riders crash. They must learn to stop in a controllable manner first. New riders should never be put into 'panic' first day situations.
I noticed that your girl had to walk the bike on the tip of her toes. my girl has the same problem. I was trying to teach her and she dropped it. lmao... good video though bro! I'm going to show my girl this video.
Great video, just one tip, even if the bike is in neutral, it's good to pull the clutch in when you're starting the bike. Two reasons: 1) Don't always trust the neutral indicator 2) It isolates the motor more efficiently.
Glad you found this video useful. 172cm should be fine. If you have already ridden a CBR600 then you will be fine, the R6 is actually surprisingly comfortable, it has less of an aggressive stance then my 09 zx6r. The R6 is actually a pretty good entry 600 (at least the ones before 08), because it has less HP than the new bikes, which means it will be a little more controllable on the throttle. Hope this helps.
Good teaching there, mate! Learn how to control clutch & gas at low speeds, feel them, as well as doing eight-figures like you taught her, should be a must for any beginner. I did it in my time, and helped me a lot. Unluckily, I didn't get such a patient teacher as your GF did! Cheers!
oh how fun!! i have always wanted to ride a motorcycle! I am not sure i would trust myself to drive one though lol. your a good teacher from what ive seen.
Every dumbass saying Dumbassery, read the fucking description! This dude is awesome, nice video man im currently saving up money to buy a bike, so hopefully i get one soon ive never drove one myself but i dont think it would be too different from driving stick which i know how to do.
+alivianados Thank you. My heart rejoices when someone actually spends the time to read ;). Hope you get that bike soon! Good luck. Driving stick definitely helps.
Thanks Omar for the compliments, Don't know why I didn't make them sooner ha. Anyway, here's my take on a beginners bike. Honestly, I think it depends a lot on the person. I think that if you have the money a 250cc, 300cc or a bike with similar ergo to a ninja 650, are the best for beginners. Personally I started with an 03 zx6r, it was hard initially but I think it forces you to learn quicker, being a bigger/faster bike, and I didn't have to hassle with trying to re-sell it to get a bigger bike
this makes me excited to teach my girl how to ride this summer. she has plenty of motocross experience but nothing on the street. She's also only about 5'3 lol.
You can totally release the clutch when the bike is moving on most bikes without stalling. It's when you engage the brake first before clutching that you stall out. Newbie mistakes
She will be fine. She has good instruction and once her confidence builds she will do even better. I rode a 500 twin for 2 yrs before I got my R6. Starting with a 250 isnt necessarily going to.prepare you for a super sport. Be patient easy on the throttle. She will be fine
Great video Bro. I"m a newbie to riding bikes too. Just took the Learn to ride class about a month ago. Started out on a GSXR 600 and am pretty comfortable with it now. It"ll take a little time but your girl will get it. It looks like she"s catching on fast. Just tell her be careful on the road with these crazy drivers.
nice video Marco, I just bought the Yamaha YZF 600R as a starter but Im 6'4" and 245lbs, I took it for a joy ride around the block, wasnt as hard as I thought, but practice and more practice will; definitely pay off.
Dude, you have a sexy bike and a sexy girl, it would be a pity if any of them got scratched or something. I suggest you teach her on something cheaper and less powerful while wearing some protective gear.
Nice bird and bike bro. But sort the girl some CE armour lol made me nervous for her just watchin 😂 my lady rode my zx6r other day within 5-10 tuition.... Hot girls and bikes are awesome! The fact we both hot birds that ride is even more cool! Lol enjoy 👍🏻
It'll definitely feel bigger, but I mean there are guys out there that do it. However, I would start on a ninja 300 if this is going to be your first bike. Just so you get accustomed to the feel.
I started on a 04 ZX10R.... has nothing to do with the comments or video... but damn is that bike fast... oh its fast..... too fast.... like really fast.. u wanna ask me how fast? ill tell you..... its really fast.
Hey hi, I also started a bit too big (BMW F700GS) and dropped my bike by mistake the other day. Confidence was shattered. Got a little motivation from your vid i'm back on it now slowly learning. Thanks
its stupidity a person learn to ride a bike with a 600cc one! you get to start with 100cc, 150cc and then when you dominate them you can think to ride one of these.
Nurburgring00 That's folk tale... While it's easier for a larger bike to get away from you there's typically no issues as long as you're responsible. I started on a GSX750 and had 0 issues...and it's not because I'm some fantastic rider, it's simply b/c I was responsible with how I rode it. It's another folk tale that you need to dominate one to ride the next, the VAST majority of people on the road can't even come close to mastering a little 250 sport bike, but most of them are on much larger than that. I personally could never buy a sport bike < 1L again, I enjoy the torque for daily driving too much. You don't **need** to be able to push a bike to the limit to go up. As I said, the torque you get from big displacement is second to none. ..but sport bikes are in my past now, more of an adv and UJM rider now!
MrSlowestD16 preach it man! Finally a wise rider among the rest. There are too few people that can ride responsibly, unfortunately; and far less of them are educated enough to realize that its "not the arrow, its the indian" meaning that its all about whose sitting in the saddle. I choose the 600cc because I knew I'd respect it, and that it was enough power for me to enjoy and have fun on two wheels.
I completely agree with you, I am the first to suggest safe gear when riding. She took MSF course, she is wearing no gear due to safe controlled environment. She owns full leathers and gloves but opted out of wearing these due to the heat. I don't suggest that anyone learn in the same attire as her, I trusted her ability enough to allow her to ride around at 10 mph in our neighborhood. Thanks for your concern.
Fair point. BUT if she was to stubborn not to wear protection how was he ever going to stop her from going over 10mph or leave the cul-de-sac ?? She's a woman, like she will ever listen ;-)
dude you have done an excellent job teaching her how to ride. I just got my 03 R6 last winter and its a great bike for new be's. My question to you isWHY havent you been making video's before, lol? One more then do you believe that a 600 is the best beginners bike for first time riders. because i know everyone has they own comments on it.
No gloves, boots, jacket, heavy denim or leather pants? Chin strap on helmet isn't even done up. How about safety 101 first before riding basics? Just sayin...
Read his description: "I also recommend wearing FULL protective GEAR when learning, she opted out due to stubbornness and it was a really hot day =). I would not have let her go over 10mph or leave the cul de sac in such attire. Don't bother commenting on what she is wearing/not wearing. Just watch to learn."
I noticed that too right away but hey when it's hot outside you can't get road rash, if you fall and your head will destroy anything upon impact no need for safety measures for you very first ride
Yeah, my first bike. Ive been riding for close to year now and loving it, but unfortunately here in Georgia its been raining everyday for weeks. Sucks! I really like the Kawasaki superbikes. Can't wait for the move up to a inline four.
Michael Gardner drive literally just means to operate and control the direction and speed of something. Not that serious let it go. Probably should of just said " how to operate and control speed and direction of a motorcycle " but that would sound dumb.
Michael Gardner " two girls died riding a motorcycle . " officer " who was driving ?" Your dumb ass " you can't drive a motorcycle they were both riding
People are talking shit but this is the best method to learn, 1 on 1 with someone that has experience. Good video man..... I’d just make my girl put on some jeans 😂
I'm about 5'11"-6', my feet don't both make it flat on the ground, but pretty close. You don't really want to be able to do that tho, that means your riding position will be pretty rough on the knees. I usually only keep one foot on the ground anyway, and the other on the rear brake. Are you worried about the weight of the bike or something? Only time I use both feet is when I'm riding with a passenger.
I want to do this with my girl but I need to make sure she can ride a bicycle first! She told me she learned to ride a bike at 13 so I'm a little skepticle. She can spend a season or two on the back😉
nice bike, she's a quick learner. your a good teacher.. but i think she needs some protective gear coz she's 1st timer don't you think. anyway you are still a good guy with lot of respect from you bro. keep it up..
The importance of prior clothing for new riders and even riders with experience, it's a must.
I've never riden before, have loved bikes for ages and am finally in a position to afford one soon.
This is the first video I ever watch on how to ride & i really just wanted to thank you! Great job my friend.
I see so many disrespectful comments about this guys girl.Yes she is hot but have some respect for her and him.All Ur doing is showing that you have no class by making disrespectful comments....And thx for the video man.She did a great job
you've restored my faith in humanity (TH-cam's). Thankfully there are some sensible people on TH-cam still.
Ur welcome man.Sadly not all are raised with dignity and respect
Refreshing to see a mature person make a comment.
hey he put his girl in the video for a reason
Yea to teach her about riding and to show new riders at the same time. Not for people to make disrespectful or sexual comments.
It was nice of your friend to allow her to use his bike. Good video and it seems like you are very patient. This is the exact bike I'm looking to buy, colour and all. Hope she's riding perfect now. Good luck to her.

Really? U must not have done any kind of research before buying ur bike.
man don't worry about those rude people, you did a good job. ride safe
@ewewell thanks man, appreciate it ;)

Good one

I appreciate the eye candy, and I will admit it's what brought me here, but come on, a new rider video with so little protective gear on?
rclines001 I said the exact same thing I’ll be padded oms
The less gear girls have, the more clicks you’re going to get
Shes not new
I hope your talking about the bike, she’s like 16 you creep.

beautiful R6!
I been riding 9000+mls. but I'm still very careful riding my R6

contradicting much?
gear is super important when you start riding because if you fall you can try again.

Its very considerate of you to teach your gf ride,
I love the way he teaches in a graceful way. Not too harsh. Just the right attitude. Soon i'll have a bike of my own. God willing.

great video buddy. she did great! I've just bought a CBR600RR. I did want to go for the R6 but the CBR was more in my budget.
greetings from the UK.
Nice bike & girlfriend = U' lucky bro !
Regardless of the endless debate about gear to wear while riding I`d suggest she did a fine job as a novice, good low speed control and balance.

***** Thanks! Enjoy the rest of FIFA bro!
I agree. Awesome job at teaching. I really hope she went for her own bike after this. :)
No hands/arms or leg protection, so that is a very bad start. Even to fall from stop on to hard ground would not be good .

Jesus, You sold 'her'? I thought it was illegal to sell even girlfriends. :3
asdfg I think you misspelled Kawasaki there. It's an R6... lol
He's smart too!
teaching someone ton ride while wearing shorts to start.
Unfortunately my girl doesn't even like the sweet sound of a 4 cylinder bike... But I think she better get used to.
Mario Nepomuceno she'd better! Best sound there is
Marco Biscarini hell no nothing beats a triple with a jardine on it
Lilian Milla nothing beats a tripple with a TBR black, full system ;)

Thanks man this helped a lot, just got my bike today, had no issues getting it home
I'm no pro feminist but what the fuck is a bird bro. You're a fucking idiot.
+John Choi 😂😂😂
It'll definitely feel bigger, but I mean there are guys out there that do it. However, I would start on a ninja 300 if this is going to be your first bike. Just so you get accustomed to the feel.
👍. That's exactly what I'm starting with! Better safe than sorry.
I started on a 04 ZX10R.... has nothing to do with the comments or video... but damn is that bike fast... oh its fast..... too fast.... like really fast.. u wanna ask me how fast? ill tell you..... its really fast.
Wtf
that shorts are ok for beginners, perfect
no gear you need to look up rash road queen I bet she will wear gear than
Learn english
Hey hi, I also started a bit too big (BMW F700GS) and dropped my bike by mistake the other day. Confidence was shattered. Got a little motivation from your vid i'm back on it now slowly learning. Thanks
That's great to hear, about you getting back into riding, ride safe and have fun!
4:08 The walk of shame.
Great video and a very patient and attentive teacher.
Austin Cheatham thanks man! =)
its stupidity a person learn to ride a bike with a 600cc one!
you get to start with 100cc, 150cc and then when you dominate them you can think to ride one of these.
Absolutely spot on.
We'll remember that when we read the fatality report for you
Nurburgring00 the only bike you sholdnt learn on is a liter bike
Closing credits are dope :-P
Guys need to respect womens in the way they comment , dont act like idiot respect and dont forget u also have a women as your mother
alania rc I'm a terminator
perhaps you should explain how to get a hot gf like yours
I completely agree with you, I am the first to suggest safe gear when riding. She took MSF course, she is wearing no gear due to safe controlled environment. She owns full leathers and gloves but opted out of wearing these due to the heat. I don't suggest that anyone learn in the same attire as her, I trusted her ability enough to allow her to ride around at 10 mph in our neighborhood. Thanks for your concern.
And a helmet that’s not strapped?
First things first. Where are her gloves, leathers, boots ???
I think safety comes first before you even sit on a bike. Just saying.
Yea Im with you on that, But if she had gears on then this video woulda never had this much views lol
vang lor Mitch Mitchell Read description :)
Fair point. BUT if she was to stubborn not to wear protection how was he ever going to stop her from going over 10mph or leave the cul-de-sac ?? She's a woman, like she will ever listen ;-)
oPiruz Makes me happy some people read lol!
Only safety I would suggest is to strap her helmet...I'lld hate to see her pretty face scarred
dude you have done an excellent job teaching her how to ride. I just got my 03 R6 last winter and its a great bike for new be's. My question to you isWHY havent you been making video's before, lol? One more then do you believe that a 600 is the best beginners bike for first time riders. because i know everyone has they own comments on it.
Can I trade lives with you, all the motorcycles, what seems to be a nice neighborhood, a girlfriend that is willing to ride.
That blue Honda hatchback tho👌
No gloves, boots, jacket, heavy denim or leather pants? Chin strap on helmet isn't even done up. How about safety 101 first before riding basics? Just sayin...
Read his description: "I also recommend wearing FULL protective GEAR when learning, she opted out due to stubbornness and it was a really hot day =). I would not have let her go over 10mph or leave the cul de sac in such attire. Don't bother commenting on what she is wearing/not wearing. Just watch to learn."
Brian Martone Thanks for READING. Good to know there are some intelligent people on TH-cam!
I noticed that too right away but hey when it's hot outside you can't get road rash, if you fall and your head will destroy anything upon impact no need for safety measures for you very first ride
thank you for the tip... this video show me how to ride my Honda CBR 600RR for the first time
Amir Hamzah That's awesome! Glad I could hep!
put some gear on her yo wtf shes a new rider!
Thanks for the video. It gives me confident to hop on a R1.
Great legs...actually she is all great, no disrespect.
was definitely a patience test =) The bike is great, you will love it! Personally I prefer my ninja but they are both great. Ride safe!
DIsclaimer: I watched this video because your girl is cute.
Yeah, my first bike. Ive been riding for close to year now and loving it, but unfortunately here in Georgia its been raining everyday for weeks. Sucks! I really like the Kawasaki superbikes. Can't wait for the move up to a inline four.
Mr.Biscarini, It's quite impossible to DRIVE a motorcycle. Who wrote your title George Bush?
Michael Gardner drive literally just means to operate and control the direction and speed of something. Not that serious let it go. Probably should of just said " how to operate and control speed and direction of a motorcycle " but that would sound dumb.
Hahah. Thanks for helping point that out to Michael ;)
Mr. Rogers last week I "drove" my friends boat down the river. ;-]
Michael Gardner " two girls died riding a motorcycle . " officer " who was driving ?" Your dumb ass " you can't drive a motorcycle they were both riding
Mr. Rogers last month I "flew" my wife's new car down the highway. ;-]
She's doin real gd,just keep her at that pace, your a great teAcher.....don't rush her just let her take her time
no homo, that guy is hot, i wish i had his looks
lol yeah, he is a nice looking guy. No homo.
Aryan8Pride8 Oscar V 'no homo' compliments accepted. Thanks hah
Marco Biscarini you're welcome bro ;)
MrEvolutionist i cant help myself :)
People are talking shit but this is the best method to learn, 1 on 1 with someone that has experience. Good video man..... I’d just make my girl put on some jeans 😂
i just came here for the chick
I came too hehehee all over
U two are probably like 10. Grow up
I rode Gilera Runner SP 50 and then bought R6 in one day and didn't had a single problem to ride it.
i agree no safety gear is just stupid
very cool , it is really not easy to learn 1st time to ride , some more its big bike :D well done!
She can spend a season or two on the back😉
Chris Perry be careful, can be tricky riding with a passenger if they don't know what to do. It could throw you completely off balance.
nice bike, she's a quick learner. your a good teacher.. but i think she needs some protective gear coz she's 1st timer don't you think. anyway you are still a good guy with lot of respect from you bro. keep it up..
Squidette!! I wish my girl would learn to ride. This chick did awesome I think
Thanks!
Awesome video my friend! Hopefully this video helps someone ready to step up and start riding!
Good looking bike! I always loved the look of the R6 and it was my first bike also!
Damn Thats my dream bike. Looks so good with Your girl riding it. Ride safe and have fun.
vang lor thanks, cheers man!
