Wow how can one be playing stuff like this in an arbitrary key, probably be improvising a bit and singing at the same time. He really is absurdly talented
Eb is not that hard ;) it’s nothing for a trained musician. His musicianship is what makes him awesome. Is creativity, his musical ideas and his abilities to play these crazy rhythmic shifts and harmonic ideas. But on the technical side it isn’t hard what he’s playing!
@@needlessnoise ever heard of wind instruments? Good players do it all the time ;) it kinda depends on what you're practicing.. But it's true that it is less common for piano players or other rhythm section players. But it's a skill every Jazz musician needs to acquire anyways. My point is just that there are sooooo many countless players out there who are playing on the level where they can do instant transposing. It's not that hard really when you play a lot and practice it. It has nothing to do with talent, just with the effort in practicing and with practicing the right stuff.
Would have been impossibly funny if the score was NOT in Eb at the beginning, and as soon as Jacob sais "I'm gonna do it in Eb", the score would suddenly transpose to Eb! :D
I've listened to this so many times. There's so much musical gold in plain sight here. I'm slacking on playing this - gonna start this week. Thanks again for the transcription!
Not that I'm requesting or anything 😉, but if you were looking for more from Jacob to transcribe, his covers of fix you, hallelujah, weak, and just the way you are are all superb!
A wonderful transcription of Jacob's cover of Fix You is available via this guy th-cam.com/video/v6em-wUwoC0/w-d-xo.html there's a link in the description. I purchased it a couple of years ago and just love playing it...if only I had the voice (and coordination) to sing along! What I'd really love now is a transcription of his cover of All At Sea from his live tour...just sayin' @GeorgeCollier ;)
Nice transcription. At like 2:55, the Db should be C#, because it's A7 chord Edit: also that page: 4th & 5th measure, just write B natural, there's no Cb in a G chord 1:35, that 16th rhythm in the right hand is confusing to read, you should probably rebeam that In the fifth measure on that page, change the F double sharp to G natural, it's just an Am7 chord, no need for that Around 2:21, write a D instead of C double sharp, it's a Dm chord with a 9
@@slendy2579 I heard (but i'm not sure if it's true) that you can put audio tracks into a program and it will write out the notes that are being played. But that's simply what I've heard somewhere.
Also, last chord of bar 8 you've got a funky f flat chord, which sounds cool but I think he just plays a simple inversion of an A flat chord (with a C natural).
I just discovered Jacob 2 days ago. Fascinating, incredible, unique.
I. Am. Captivated.
He’s one of the most talented and intelligent musicians out there
The musician's musician
I love how he says its in Eb cause he hasn't played in Eb today lol
I also love that he played it in E and F as well lol
And Ab!

Absolutely absurd. Amazing. Awesome. Assuredly accurate and actually amusing. :)

My mans hit thw whammy bar on his vocal chords at 3:00 my goodness this is so good
Jacob Collier is a Music Wizard, he knows the keys like the back of his hands, WOW!!
I've listened to this so many times. There's so much musical gold in plain sight here. I'm slacking on playing this - gonna start this week. Thanks again for the transcription!
I’ve been listening to this every day multiple times a day since my nanny died a few days ago. Thank you for this
i love the warmth of that piano
We dont deserve this Guy.What a genius.
Awesome, great work! Thanks for making these available.
Legendary transcription, keep up the great work 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Love the microtone he sings on "lean" at 4:24

added these to the pdf and musescore :)
@@GeorgeCollier keep up the good work. Using good "musical grammar" is important for our music to be read easily & communicate harmonic details

@@james_subosits so when are we gonna start hearing some Jacob Collier / Drum Corps score collabs? :D
very very beautiful. Thank you.
Do you transcribe these by ear? Cuz if so that’s amazing 😭

He uses Transcribe!
Me: plays this is c cuz the original is in c
Jacob: let’s pick Eb, I haven’t played in Eb today yet😂
Oh my god I'm singing this song since I'm 5 and I see Jacob made this stunning, awesome, out of this world version ztbldoorhzkivcxxdkll
jacob collier the type of person to learn how to ride a unicycle because he "hasnt done that today"
Lean on me (lean on me)
Lean me on (lean on me)
Ridiculously good
I can only read drum sheets, but give me one year and I will play this in Dmin
Subbed. thanks, this is amazing content.
we all have strorrow
I was hoping for this one!
I love this but the funny thing is i cant read sheet music at all 😂and i still want be a musician
You defs don't need to read sheet music to be a musician 😎
You don’t need to read sheet music to be a musician. Music used to be learned by ear without sheet music.
"Cause I haven't played in Eb yet today"
You sir, are a god
Is piano playing is fine but his vocal rifts are as always, over the top
Nina would of been proud as fook with this beautiful Man.
Amazing.
2:53 - 3:18 oh god🥺😭
Frrr, I’ve seen some ppl say he sings bad but imo I think he’s good, he’s unique
🐐
Great job🔥👏

U r awesome, please make the transcription of Jacob's live with Daniel Ceaser

Also, last chord of bar 8 you've got a funky f flat chord, which sounds cool but I think he just plays a simple inversion of an A flat chord (with a C natural).
You should do "Saviour"
He reminds me of bill wurtz
Dude, can you transcribe his version of Fix You? It's so incredible!
there’s a video out there already!

Does no one think he sounds like a children’s teacher singing to kindergarten kids
😁🔥
we all have strorrow....?/?
Struggles+ sorrows=storrow
I liked the part where he sang and played the piano
How much time do you need to transcribe song like this one?
Could you write down the chords in every bar? Would be amazing!!
what's going on at 4:24??
Does anyone know what keyboard he is on, or what vst he is using, I like that piano sound
Pretty sure it's his stand up
Can I request man in a mirror
Not a very good arrangement honestly. This song is integral to my childhood and this is the first time I really didnt like his spin. except 2:48
Man a lot of mistakes
This guy cannot sing…. even with the auto-tune and other effects they can’t make up for the terrible technique.
this sucks
no, you just don’t have the knowledge to understand why it’s amazing. like you’re trying to read a book in a language you haven’t learned
