  • At what point is too much, too much? It’s hard to say when we’re talking about the 2023 Ducati Streetfighter V4 S because although it has an excess of performance most super-nakeds could only dream of, just having too much of everything is one of those delightfully naughty feelings that makes you love motorcycles in the first place.
    Put simply, this is the most hardcore nakedbike you can buy. It’s not so much a nakedbike as it is a full-on naked superbike, one that takes the majority of its hardware DNA from the Panigale V4 S and in 2023 has taken its software DNA, too.
    Come for a spin with Rennie in Spain to hear all about it.

    Great review Rennie, you are extremely humble about your talent on a motorcycle and I’m sure you can exploit more out of a bike like this than 99% of riders, very nice standup wheelie btw. 😉
    Keep up the awesome content mate!

    $28K is a lot of money, but as motorcyclists we are lucky, because for the cost of a Honda Civic one could have the motorcycling equivalent of a Lambo. Now I still won't buy one as I can't afford a new Civic either, but still 🙂

    A lot cheaper in OZ compared to UK. At todays exchange rate the V4S starts at around $ 48,500. That's stock! Stunning bike though

    20 years ago I would have “given up my first born” for a naked bike like this. Now I’m more than happy with my naked boxer. You know you’re getting old when you’re more concerned about your super’s performance thank your bike’s performance…

    Thanks Rennie for reviewing both the new Diavel, and revised Streetfighter, within the last month. After recovering from jet lag, and winning the lottery, which Ducati would you choose for personal use?

    • @cyclenews
      @cyclenews  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Ha! Thanks, Paul. I don't know what day it is right now...
      If I won the lottery, I'd take both! But probably the Streetfighter. That thing is just so awesome. But it's very expensive to go to the track on. It'll munch tires just as easy as a Panigale. The bike I really want is a Pikes Peak Multistrada V4. That might be the ultimate streetbike in my book...

    I must be the odd man out but I tested all of the hyper nakeds and this was my least favorite. Loud, clanky, hot as balls, uncomfortable, no midrange, no gas gauge and waaaay too expensive. It looks amazing but that's where it stopped for me. I ended up with the Super Duke Evo. The SD has better midrange, better gas mileage, handles equally as well, way faster on the street, back lit controls, gas gauge etc. I own two Ducatis (Desert X and Pikes Peak) but this one did not hit the mark for me. Sadly, I still want one....;-)

    You rode the gen 2 KTM Super Duke 1290 R at Pikes Peak. My bike is paid for; would you pay the extra 15 to 20K to upgrade to the Street fighter S?

    I thought the unibrow would get less awkward looking with time, but nope.

    To sell the tuono and to get this? 🤔 Sell the 690 smc r as well of course.
    Sadly my demo ride on sfv4s ended up in limp mode, i did like the low speed manners, handling, looks, clutch, and ergonomics more than my tuono, but the engine still seemed too top endy and the whole bike too digital in full power race mode, maybe i have to try it with everything off. Its still relatively docile until you get past ten grand which makes it less exciting at lower speeds, but also more friendly and happy to go at slower pace than my tuono that always wants to leap forward and get to high speeds where it works best. Seems like a better well rounded bike, albeit without cruise control or fuel gauge.

    Over priced this year, I’ve bought the 2023 tuono 1100 factory for £17,000 here in England, that’s £6000 less than the sf.

    • @michaeltelemachus5112
      @michaeltelemachus5112 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is very pricey as you say, but as the years go by, and the Tuono looks (and is) more outdated, the comparison becomes less relevant. I have never regarded the Tuono V4 as a naked bike anyway.

    I've test ridden Streetfighter V4 back in 2020 when they first came out, including taking it up to it's top speed. I'll probably release the footage later. What really astonished me is the superb handling it has at any speeds, the ease of riding, and especially the unbelievable stability and maneuverability at high speeds, which I never encountered on any other motorcycles before (and I tested a lot of them). So, yeah, Streetfighter V4 is truly AMAZING bike in this sense. But at the same time it's extremely impractical, boring and uncomfortable (due to vibrations) to ride at sensible speeds, fuel thirsty because of the unreasonably high gearing, and very physically painful to ride at high speeds due to aerodynamic pressure pushing my helmet against my face. Therefore, my conclusion on Ducati Streetfighter V4: it is extremely cool and fun bike to take for a test ride for a couple of hours, but it's really not good and pointless bike to own and daily ride.
    And if you want a bike with almost the same level of handling, speed, and fun, but at the same time comfortable, practical, versatile, and awesome to ride almost everywhere - get a Multistrada V4 than. But that's for another story.

      I’m on the market for Sfv4 . I have to say I HATE the look of the multi v4 BUT the tech in it really appeals to me. 🤔 every bike is essentially impractical being honest. Some more than others. I’ll be weekend driving, will never do more than 2 hours without stopping for pee/coffee. So range doesn’t brother me. I’ll never use the radar sytem or heated grips etc etc. likewise with the Sfv4 I’ll never use all 208 horses 🤷‍♂️ so really aesthetics are winning for me

    • @motocritic
      @motocritic หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@markholmes5695, "every bike is essentially impractical being honest" - nope! Not at all. Only useless two-wheeled toys like this Streetfighter, sportbikes, and choppers are impractical. Adventure bikes, on the other hand, are very practical. Especially with the top box.
      All riders are different, and have different preferences, but for me personally uncomfortable bikes aren't that fun. Really cool bike for me should be comfortable, versatile (good for any type of riding), fast, powerful, and have a good handling. Ducati Multistrada V4 S checks all that boxes, and more. To put it simple, it's by far the best bike I've ever ridden. And I've ridden A LOT of different motorcycles of all kinds, including the most expensive and praised ones. Also, Multistradas from 1200 and up is one of the best-looking bikes on the market, IMHO. And I have no idea how can somebody hate their look while praising the look of the Streetfighter V4 with it's unibrow at the same time.
      But that's just an opinion of the guy who did used all of the Streetfighter's 208 horses, and asked for more.

      Can’t go wrong with either . Such a great range. If I was using bike as commuter, I’d no questions asked go for the Multi. I’m a weekend ‘warrior’ with the odd trip so the SFV4 Is for me. I also like the SDR1390, drove the 1290 and was blown away, but, again, the looks… meh.
