      Kraft Mondelez have never knowingly create a real food product, just edible non-food. They are carpet-baggers who bought Cadbury for their markets in the East and Far-East, broke all their promises regarding protecting the jobs in the UK and shipped the production overseas to Eastern Europe.
      They also cheapened the recipe for the famous chocolate too and their boss, a woman called Rubenstein refused to attend a committee investigating these things by the UK government.

    What makes me laugh is ..if I put on my website that the essential oils I add to my soaps can have an medicinal effect ....I would get slammed and fined by the FDA and yet large corporations can advertise their products and blatantly lie and never get held accountable. Awesome.

    • @Mary.Mercedes
      @Mary.Mercedes 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Lakanto did NOT actually "blatantly" lie. It's called MARKETING. They did put the correct info on the bag's back label. Shop with your reading glasses on your face if you need them to read the fine print. If you care what is in a product it is incumbent upon YOU to read the label. As a consumer, you have the choice to buy it - or walk away with your wallet. If you don't know the difference between net carbs and total carbs, then don't buy ANY sugar substitute until you educate yourself. It has never been easier to find facts. You don't even have to get out of an easy chair. The FDA is borderline criminal and nothing but a shill for Big Pharma and food industry lobbyists. They don't allow ANYONE (not you or a multi-million dollar corporation) to promote alternative health choices and products. The FDA is archaic, corrupt, and headed by former pharmaceutical drug executives for decades now. The American public is too busy watching NetFlix to care.

    • @annetteunsworthqhht
      @annetteunsworthqhht 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@Unsensitive I think you should. Large corporations get away with it as it's "marketing" so why can't you? Don't worry...being economical with the truth isn't lying and if the consumer doesn't read the small print...it's all their fault 🤔🤦

    • @Mary.Mercedes
      @Mary.Mercedes 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @the lazy carnivore I think you might have an English language comprehension problem. I don’t have the power to “enable false marketing” nor did I even faintly “blame the consumer.” Caveat Emptor is word to the wise. THAT is just the way life works. And, yes, thank God for corporations and capitalism. Some corporations are great. Some are truly evil. But, flawed as they are, they give YOU, my friend, the ability to live a privileged life in the greatest country in the world. Of course, being illogical and unable to understand nuance is your right also. Bravo indeed.

    Second, why to sweet artificially food?
    Real food have to taste good otherwise isn't good to be eaten.
    Now I found something called Konjac, good to replace rice or pasta, it's rich in glucomannan a water-soluble polysaccharide.
    And the most of the manipulated package I found here in Portugal like Konjac noodles, Konjac rice, and etc, it also have tapioca starch, or oatmeal flour.

    It's a blend, so that it tastes better and is a 1:1 replacement for sugar. Works well for people who desire to replace sugar in recipes. Some people do better than others. As for me, I add actual monk fruit extract to coffee to make it drinkable.
    This kind of thing can get some people over the keto hump. If you're going through a bag of that stuff regularly, though, you're never going to conquer your sweet tooth. It's the same reason not to go through the "keto" candy bars, cookies, etc.

    Everything is like that though, no surprise - olive oil is a complete mix, especially from Italy, stake is made of pressed strips of meat, juice is not juice, milk has bad additives. Food industry of almost any country is hardly regulated.

    Chi is life energy.😂🤣 We use it because it’s a way to get away from sugar. We know it’s a bandaid, or a bridge, as you say coffee is. Not fooled by the labels. I use a stevia erythritol blend with 2 grams per 1/2 teaspoon. Husband just prefers the Lakanto golden.....

    Wow! This stuff really IS amazing. I mean according to my calculations: 0 total carbs, minus 4 sugar alcohols, equals negative 4 carbs/16 calories. So basically, if I just eat this, I could be in a caloric deficit. I think they've just discovered the greatest weight loss secret of all time. Genius!!! 😂🤣😂🤣

    I noticed the erythritol ingredient too and stopped using it. Erythritol can cause intestinal distress for many. Food companies are so deceptive these days.

    Awesome! You need to do another one of these and feature great value stevia. The package at all nice and beautiful but with the tiny words with maltodextrin. You can explain how awful that stuff is! There's no getting around how bad that is. Erythritol would have been better. Not much but definitely better.

    This is the same as stevia. I grow the plant in my backyard, which is originally local from here, Argentina. And when I'm in Asia, which is often, I buy the actual monk fruit.
    Use the plants, fruits themselves, grow them yourself if possible.

    I agree! Using it here and there is fine, but know what goes in your body. On that note, have you read the ingredients label on the Costco rotisserie chicken? I used to get it every Costco trip, now I buy it only once in a blue moon when I reeeally don't want to cook.

    There is a product listed as just monk fruit, no erythritol, which is even more expensive, but you just use 1/32 tsp in your coffee (enough to give a bit of sweetness to my 20 oz coffee. I don't have a CGM, but did test my blood sugar before and 15, 30, 60 min after using it, and blood sugar only rose 1 pt., so it works for me. I hate the aftertaste of stevia and won't use the sugar alcohols. Plus I only drink the one 20 oz coffee, and not every day. I do love watching you, Dr. Cywes, you are a breath of fresh air, have really good scientific information to impart, and are intelligent, humorous and very human. :)

    Thank you, I was fooled. Other keto you tube teachers have said this is good, so I did not look close at package.
    Double rats, all about the money. I couldn't figure why the needle was moving so slow because I was not cheating. Mainly carnivore with light salad or crucifix veggies plus a little fresh frozen blueberries with heavy cream and packet of monk fruit. My eyes couldn't see that ghost writing with the erythritol word. May they fall in the ditch they dug. So sick of the legal cons.
