In this video, I am sharing 4 self care habits that I do for my mind, body and soul. I will show you how I prepare my favorite daily drink and homemade scrub from freshly brewed coffee beans. You will also see the activity that I start my day with and what I do everyday for myself to nourish my soul. You will also hear some of my favorite quotes and see me dancing :) It rarely makes it to the film but I am a huge dance aficionado. I can dance everyday all day.

      @Inessa77 3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

@@priskruger314 Milk does NOT mix well with rose hip tea, not at all. Sugar is fine, they go ok together and it even takes away some of the inherent sourness of rose hip. It is as an herbal infusion for your health, not a real/traditional tea that goes well with desserts or anything like that. In fact it should not be combined with any foods, as doctors recommend to drink it 30 min before or 30 min after meals, never during.

My self care list and tips:
-visiting my favourite botanical gardens and parks
    -visiting museums
-going to independent bookstores and second hand bookstores
-going to the beautiful downtown library and reading on the rooftop garden
-getting Murchie's teas (especially love London Afternoon tea)
-going to my gym...especially since I reward myself with the massage chair at the end of each session
-going to plant nurseries and working on my herb garden
-watching old movies (Audrey Hepburn, Alfred Hitchcock, or classics from the 70s)
-having an Epsom salt bath and listening to a podcast (Alice Isn't Dead is a fave)
-spending so much cuddle time with my beautiful little cat
-hanging out with my best friend and playing chess
-going hiking and camping, kayaking or rock climbing
    -riding the ferry ⛴️

The fact that I HATE listening and reading about self-care and self-motivation and all of that (don't ask why because I don't know the answer, I just do), but I LOVED listening to her talk about it just speaks volumes about how good she is at what she does and how well she knows how to touch your soul and make you actually do what she suggests. 😍

We drink rosehip tea in Turkey a lot too. We call it "Kuşburnu" instead of itburnu. By the way, you already have amazing skin but I'd recommend not using coffee scrub on your face. Coffee is too harsh for skin on the face, it causes microtears that can get infected and cause acne. You should use chemical exfoliants like AHA or BHA instead. Love from Turkey

I think some people handle vigorous scrubbing better than others. I used a scrub made with ground walnut hulls for years and it was most satisfactory. I heard about how on a microscopic level, the edges could be jagged, and tiny plastic beads, perfectly round, were said to be superior, but I liked going natural. I use a Salux cloth now, and it is so rough it might cause some microscopic damage, but the results are great.

Interesting that I'm not the only one who collects quotes. I keep a document on my desktop that I use, and I call it "Collected Phrases". If I ever need something to think on, like to break my mind out of some kind of unhealthy spiral or worry, then I open this document and start reading. My mind will definatly find something else to think about and often I get inspired to do something that I love to do. Instead of worrying about something I wind up being creative with art or exercise or teaching my pets new tricks.

Love the rosehip tea idea! I am a tea lover so it's a wonderful idea. As to the rest of the habits, I think my mom needs this so much. She's been a workaholic her entire life and now finally feels like she needs a bit of a break. I think these habits could help her as they're not overwhelming or hard to do! Thank you!
