@@shelbystiner6545 Thank you for your reply! Sounds like 16 is a good age. Do you know of any similar movies (also that are not cartoon) that could inspire more girls today? I work with children and try to teach them at school some things but I believe we need to do so much more...
About interrupting, I took a meditation class once where we had to listen to someone talk for five minutes WITHOUT doing anything . We could not nod, go 'mmm', interrupt, touch the other person, or anything else. You had to simply sit there and *listen.* It was VERY difficult, but I think about this sometimes when I'm listening to someone. I've made a concerted effort recently to speaker softer and slower. It's a constant process but I'm getting there and it is making a difference in how I am received. Also making an effort to not talk so much, as well as to ask more questions of others :)

Thank you Jamila, you are my favourite youtuber! I struggle a lot with my high pitch and tone and as I am shy and get really nervous I tend to talk definitely too much. I really should pause a lot more. I would love to watch a video about how you organize your day with a home to manage, two kids, your work etc
You have the face of an angel and the spellbinding voice of a siren, A powerful air of mystery that intrigues me so. I feel as though you might dissolve before my very eyes. How can one be so perfect.
Yess finally! I always wanted to learn how to speak with elegance. Never clicked a video so fast in my life😂 I'm taking notes while watching. Thanks for the valueable advice!❤️
Thank you, I have been looking all over for proper speaking etiquette and just being more eloquent and confident while talking. There is not much content on it. This came at such a perfect time!
Upspeak describes when a declarative sentence ends in a higher pitch which makes what is stated sound like a question. It can be a very difficult habit to eliminate, however not impossible. Becoming aware of the habit is the first step to success. A tip I have is to record yourself speaking and noting when it tends to happen most often. Is it when you're nervous? Are you not sure of your response? Etc. I have also found that being mindful to keep my pitch low as I end sentences to have worked well for me.
Thank you so much! I struggle the most wiith this. I used to be really confident back when i was a child but due to some circumstances i lost all of my confidence. Now, i think im really awkward around others and i don't know how to carry a conversation. I just wish i could speak that eloquently like confident people do.
Hey it’s similar with me. When I was a kid/ teenager I was super confident and couldn’t care less what others thought of me. When I grew up I became less and less confident, even socially anxious , damn
But I made the experience that the more you expose yo ur self into social situations where you have to talk the less frightening it becomes and the more relaxed and confident you get yourself.
Dear ladies! If we talk about social interactions and not about giving a speech, this really helped me: "Be genuenly interested in others. Feel like humans are the most fascinating creatures, each and every one of them." People generally like to talk about themselves, so ask questions and then listen actively :) They will notice how nice of you it is that you are interested in them. At least this is what helped me to overcome my social awkwardness, I hope it will help you too.
Great insights worth sharing. Tone, hand gestures, posture, eye contact, natural confidence from the heart. Transparency at it's best. Thanks for sharing!
Wonderful video Jamila! I would add to the first point on vocabulary that simply using big words doesn't make one an eloquent speaker! I find vocabulary to be helpful to find SPECIFIC words to use in the right place and not necessarily pretend to be a walking thesaurus. Unnecessarily using difficult words can come off as pretentious and make it difficult for others to understand you, which defeats the point of using words, we use them for people to understand us. Many people are guilty of making this mistake so I had to point it out! Also I used to speak very fast and my words would be hard to understand for some people. I learned on the internet that focusing on the consonants instead of vowels makes it easier for people to understand you. As soon as I started focusing on it consciously that slowed down my speed and now I have a fairly good pace! I still talk fast when I'm excited but otherwise people have no trouble understanding me. Also, if a person you know interrupts a lot and you are in an environment where it is safe to crack a little joke, of course it's not applicable everywhere, but you can say "sorry for talking while you were interrupting". It should work 😂😂
Thank you for enhancing my appreciation of eloquence. It's a pleasure learning from you. I find incorrect grammar common these days, unfortunately. Have a wonderful day 😊.
Dear Jamila. Thank you for this great presentation. You look absolutely stunning but I think your spectacular outfit distracts from the content of your speech. With gratitude and respect.

I've regret silence a lot. But I get stuck in thinking. I do agree I regret it LESS than if I say too much. I don't know of most situations where people will wait for you to say something for ten seconds. Most times the topic is changed or someone is already in the middle of talking. 😢 I hope I meet more people that give time. It's honestly worse now than it used to be. Also a lot of interruptions. Speaking elegantly, confidently, and eloquently is a valuable skill that can enhance your communication and make a positive impression on others. Here are some tips to help you achieve this: 1. **Expand Your Vocabulary:** A rich vocabulary allows you to express yourself with precision and depth. Make an effort to learn new words and their meanings. Reading books, articles, and listening to well-spoken individuals can help you acquire new words. 2. **Practice Clear Pronunciation:** Pronounce words clearly and enunciate properly. Avoid mumbling or speaking too quickly, as this can make it difficult for others to understand you. 3. **Speak at a Moderate Pace:** Speaking too fast can lead to confusion, while speaking too slowly can make you seem unsure. Find a comfortable and moderate pace that allows you to articulate your thoughts clearly. 4. **Use Pauses:** Pausing strategically can add emphasis to your points and give your audience time to absorb your words. It also prevents you from rushing through your speech. 5. **Control Your Tone and Pitch:** Vary your tone and pitch to convey different emotions and add depth to your speech. A monotone voice can be dull, while a dynamic voice is engaging. 6. **Eliminate Fillers:** Avoid using fillers like "um," "uh," "like," and "you know." These can distract from your message and make you appear less confident. 7. **Practice Active Listening:** Engage actively in conversations by listening attentively to others. This allows you to respond thoughtfully and contribute meaningfully to the discussion. 8. **Organize Your Thoughts:** Structure your thoughts before speaking, especially in more formal or complex situations. Having a clear outline helps you present your ideas coherently. 9. **Use Gestures Thoughtfully:** Gestures can enhance your communication, but they should be natural and appropriate. Avoid excessive or distracting gestures. 10. **Maintain Eye Contact:** Establishing and maintaining eye contact shows confidence and interest in the conversation. It fosters a connection between you and your audience. 11. **Be Mindful of Your Audience:** Adapt your language and style to your audience. Speaking to a group of professionals might require a more formal tone, while speaking to friends can be more relaxed. 12. **Practice Public Speaking:** Engaging in public speaking opportunities, even small ones, can help you build confidence and improve your speaking skills over time. 13. **Read Aloud:** Reading books, articles, or poetry aloud can help you practice your pronunciation, pacing, and intonation. 14. **Record Yourself:** Recording your speeches or conversations allows you to identify areas for improvement and track your progress. 15. **Learn from Others:** Pay attention to individuals who speak eloquently and confidently. Observe their speaking style, vocabulary, and delivery. 16. **Seek Feedback:** Ask for feedback from trusted friends, mentors, or colleagues. Constructive feedback can provide valuable insights for improvement. 17. **Stay Calm Under Pressure:** Practice deep breathing and calming techniques to manage nervousness when speaking in challenging situations. 18. **Be Genuine:** While improving your speaking skills, remember to be yourself. Authenticity is key to establishing trust and connection with your audience. Remember that speaking elegantly and confidently is a journey that takes time and practice. Don't be discouraged by occasional mistakes; instead, view them as opportunities for growth and improvement.
How to do eye contact;act ;listen;speak and be yourself that one word will prefer for personality will be"elite" in professional way Plzz make a video for special guidance
This is nice and all but you forget one thing: your elegance and eloquence will be wasted on an awful lot of people who are neither elegant nor eloquent themselves. I used to be more elegant and poised and articulate and then it kind of just went away because I had more important things to focus on. And being surrounded by trashy people/family members didn't help. But then again, that's the whole point of having class, isn't it? That you stay classy and dignified even while others are not! Heheh. Great video, thank you for uploading it! It's admirable of you to put effort into this somewhat-lost art.
Thank you so so so much Jamila for this video because its truly truly helpful to me in my life and I really love your videos so so much and I wish you reach 700K Subscribers very very soon!💞☺️💫
I definitely have trouble with the volume of my speech. I grew up in a loud family who talk over each other so that is something I need to work on! I also sometimes have trouble with the talking to quickly. It's hard to relearn how to speak but I'm hoping to be a better example for my kids.
Here is a listening exercise. Have someone say a sentence. The last letter in the sentence, you use it to begin your sentence. Example: I took my dog to the parK. Kites are always flying therE. Everything is so beautiful at the park. The garden smells amazinG. Goodness! I can have a parry! And so on. That's how you train yourself to listen.
Thanku dear mam , i truly needed this video. You are always my favourite mam. This is my father's phone and I'm him daughter ❤️❤️ Lot's of love from India.
I really feel i need to improve my pitch. I am a confident speaker but have a high pitch and high pace. And i will surely check out formal hand movement and signs. Thanks Miss Musaveya you really inspire me. I am an 18 year old viewer from India. (^)
Thank you, Jamila, for sharing these videos! I was wondering if you could teach us about small talk; when I go to social gatherings, as an introverted entrepreneur, I genuinely would like to get outside and talk to people, but I fought myself very uncomfortable in small talk situations.

Unnecessarily using difficult words can come off as pretentious and make it difficult for others to understand you, which defeats the point of using words, we use them for people to understand us.

Speaking elegantly, confidently, and eloquently is a valuable skill that can enhance your communication and make a positive impression on others. Here are some tips to help you achieve this:

You are so elegant and inspiring like angels , I can’t believe that you are real 😂💗
Thank you 🙏🏻
Most what are mentioned in the video are mentioned in holy quran♥️ Islam means peace which learn us how to treat people ♥️
This is nice and all but you forget one thing: your elegance and eloquence will be wasted on an awful lot of people who are neither elegant nor eloquent themselves.
I would love if you offered a course on this topic! This is such a necessary topic, especially today.
I do ☺️

Her purpal dress 💜
I definitely have trouble with the volume of my speech. I grew up in a loud family who talk over each other so that is something I need to work on! I also sometimes have trouble with the talking to quickly. It's hard to relearn how to speak but I'm hoping to be a better example for my kids.
That was so brief thank you
Welcome
thank u for these videos, you are an inspiration
Thank you!
Thank you soo much for this video!! It was so interesting and extremely helpful! Thank you.

Thank you, Jamila, for sharing these videos! I was wondering if you could teach us about small talk; when I go to social gatherings, as an introverted entrepreneur, I genuinely would like to get outside and talk to people, but I fought myself very uncomfortable in small talk situations.
You are welcome ☺️
