    I don't know about other places, but in Italy I found cashews quite rare and very expensive (and macadamia nuts even more) 😕
    Same for the sweeteners, so I use mainly raisin or unsweetened dates.
    Thank you anyway for your recipes!

      Could you kindly explain what do you mean in telling "unsweetened dates" ?
      I thought that dates are sweet from their nature and can't be sweetened additionally...
      Thank you!

      Hi! There are dates that are kept natural and others which have glucose syrup on them. Maybe I used the wrong terms, but I meant in short that I prefer to use the natural dates, without additionals :-)

    • @Nikki7hp
      @Nikki7hp 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Blue Meadow did you try it with almonds?

    • @rani_jenny
      @rani_jenny 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Blue Meadow
      Yes, you are right!
      Now I understand what you mean. Of course, you need to take natural unsweetened dates without additives and syrups.

      Yes! Cashews cost a FORTUNE! Vanilla beans cost even more of a fortune!!
      Maples syrup isn’t cheap either.
      And ofc i e cream makers aren’t cheap either, but at least you can use them more than once lol.

    • @MiMiOrt
      @MiMiOrt 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@anti-ethniccleansing465 I buy my 2lb. Organic cashews for aprox. $20 on Amazon, they sell even cheaper so check it out. I use Terrasoul. You can always use vanilla paste instead of the bean because they are quite expensive. I use monkfruit instead of Maple syrup . Maple syrup can cost over $10 but use any other sweetener.

      Thank you so much for the feedback, Russel! I don't have a recipe yet, but if I was developing one, I would probably start with the vanilla ice cream base, but decrease the amount of vanilla, add some cacao (or cocoa) powder, increase the amount of sweetener (since cocoa will introduce bitterness), and perhaps even add melted dark chocolate (I have a recipe for dark tempered chocolate here: nutritionrefined.com/raw-chocolate-bark/)

    The Ice cream Base Recipe that works for me
    1/2 cup cashews
    2 cups water
    1/4 cup sugar(it's a little less sweet, can add more according to taste)
    1/4 cup wheat flour
    1. Grind cashews adding water little by little.
    2. Transfer the cashew milk(keep 1/2 cup milk aside seperately add the rest) to a thick bottom pan and let it boil and thicken a bit
    3. In the mean time add 1/4 cup wheat flour and the seperately kept half cup milk together and whisk till smooth lump free paste is made.
    4. Add this wheat mixture in the pan and stir continuously to thicken it further
    5. Add sugar and let it melt
    6. After that switch off the stove and let it cool, it will thicken when cooled
    7. After its cool add to mixie and blend till smooth and freeze for 2 hours in an air tight container.
    8. Remove from freezer and blend again with any flavouring of choice and freeze again for about 8 hours, but make sure to add a plastic cover in between the lid and container to avoid it from becoming Icy.
    Yield:- About 1 Ltr

    I have been thinking of you over the weekend because I made your Bounty Bars and have been experimenting with tempered chocolate. Oh boy what fun THAT has been lol. So now I am onto my third attempt in hope I will get it right this time and stop wasting expensive raw cocoa butter. So I have a question.
    In the video you give a tip that you recommend removing the bowl from the double boiler before the cocoa butter reaches the required 46 degrees celsius. Can you offer a suggestion what temperature I should be removing the bowl from the heat at?
    I have been removing the bowl from the heat at around 40 degrees and it isn't working. I find that 40 degrees celsuis is too late and the temperature quickly jumps up to 47 or 48 degrees. Any help with this is much appreciated.

      Hi
      I also had clumps and after ice cream maker it was creamy but once I put it in the freezer it became icy and you can actually see the coconut oil tiny balls

    Petra I have another question can the ice cream be put into a glass loaf pan with the snap lock lid? The reason I ask is that I saw one of the comments about glass containers in the freezer.

    Sorry, but not everyone can afford an ice cream maker. Sometimes I wish, people would share recipes without showing off exclusivity. However, the ice cream looks good. Thanks.

      Shayne Khan I don’t know where you live, but at least where I live I found it in a coop. Probably you’ll find it at organic grocery stores or health food stores. Hope it helps.
