New Subscriber here. I've had to transition to veganism because of severe pancreatic issues. It's been daunting and, at times, confusing. I found your channel a few weeks ago and I've been burning through your content and writing everything down. Anti inflammation foods are a big need for me, and you have made it so much easier. Thank you for your channel and your knowledge. I am feeling confident that my transition into this new phase of my life will be far less intimidating.
If you haven't found them, yet, there is a channel that is a salt, oil, sugar free based foods - full of anti inflammation kinds of recipes, that actually taste pretty danged good. It is called well your world. I like to get recipes from a few different types of foods that are still all vegan. The SOS free means they will use the foods that are sweet, have oils, and may have natural salts. Edited to add that this channel is one of the best to have found. Plus the original family one which I'm sure there is a link for, in the info section.
🥹 this was pretty awesome to read! thank you! here is my site if you need help with more meals and substitution options are always listed in the posts - makeitdairyfree.com
Thank you for this recipe! We recently found out our son is allergic to dairy, eggs, peanuts and tree nuts. Most vegan recipes I find use nuts for the creamy consistency, but since this one uses coconuts we can try it! I will definitely check out your website for some other recipes.
sorry to hear about the kiddo! Happy to hear you're finding some options for him though. When looking at recipes on my side, they do list options for substitutions. So if you do find some thing that has peanuts or tree nuts, there usual is a sub that will help!
Like your dad, I'm not plant based or vegan but this channel absolutely has shifted me more in that direction. I've made quite a few of your recipes now and never had one that myself or my kids didn't like.... So I know this is gonna slap and I can't wait to try it!
This recipe looks fantastic. Also I just wanna say, as much as I've always loved your videos, the format changes you've implemented here are fire: the brief intro, and including the notes for substitutions and techniques within the demonstration portion of the video, as opposed to all at the end like before... chefs kiss. You're very talented and continue to improve. From one chef to another, bravissimo. 💚
I love your video style, the great music, your friendly calm voice, with so many fantastic recipes. I'll be making this one today. I'll be watching for hidden mini wisks!
A great addition would be zoodles - noodles and veggies at the same time. That came to mind because we are having them for dinner tonight with a creamy pesto sauce since the basil is coming hot and heavy right now and trying to bloom, so time to cut back again and regrow.
Amazing. The way you talk through different ways of cooking, different utensils and even different ingredients we can use in detail with all the necessary changes is top 👍 Lots of people just say use this instead but give no explanation how it will alter the cooking process and it can ruin the dish
Made these “ikea” meatballs tonight with mash potatoes and veg. They were pretty yummy. The batch only fed 2 adults and two small children so I recommend doubling it. But very delicious, thankyou for the recipe
Here is the God's word, Genesis 9: 3: "Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things." Yes, meat is a godgiven food. Here is the warning, 1Timothy 4: 1-3: "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth." The problem is Devil runs the world. He is lier and murderer. This is the reason why pagans are supported by authorities. That's why we've got the Gospel about the God's kingdom. Jehovah would put everything in order. He has anointed the king, Jesus Christ. The dead will be resurected and we'll meet our beloved ones again! :-)
?Coltrane. I wondered why the track sounded phenomenal and then remembered I listen to most TH-cam videos at 1.5 speed😂🤣. Great recipe. I’m dragging my food processor out of the back of the cupboard for this one. ❤️
While as a Swede I can't condone calling a recipe Swedish meatballs when your side isn't mash and lingonberries, your video was fantastic. Your editing skills are as smooth as your voice and I will definitely try to master some variant of this recipe to make for my vegan sister. Thanks!
This looks soooo delicious. I'm trying to get back to being vegan after some years where I was too burned out and tired to cook, and I really appreciate the various substitutions and alternatives you provide during the recipe that might help make it work for me better. Also, your beard braid is such a dope look, that's some style and dedication!
This is awesome! I was thinking to myself just recently that something like pasta with a vegan cream sauce and a vegan "meat" element would hit the spot during this unseasonably cool end to summer. Will absolutely be making this later today.
Hey! I already loved your videos but you talking through the recipe as you go is such a better format, it's so much easier to follow now. Great work and great recipes!
Not a vegan (was a perscarian for 25 years though....changed back for health (neurological) reasons) but I'm trying this! Thanks. Did I tell you that you should be an hypnolog with a voice like that?
Andrew, looks amazing! And I have everything akready here in spite of not shopping in weeks! Love that about your recipes! Meatballs are always a hit here, bc I can actually get the omnivores (usually) to eat them too. This is definitely in the plan for this week if not today. Thanks! 🙏🏻🫶🏻✌🏻xx

My bf has a f ton of things he won't touch. So I actually subbed to this channel not because we are vegan but to learn to use shit he's never had before so he can't complain before I put it on a plate. That, and I don't have to skim through everything to figure out which dishes don't have cheese.
Truthfully, I wasn’t too keen on the new format, at first. But lately, I’m finding them very helpful. Especially when I bring my iPad into the kitchen and follow the step by step instructions …. You see, I don’t have to fast forward to see what the subs may be 😁 It’s a win~win! Change isn’t always easy to accept, and I wanted you to know, I think this is a pretty good “new version” 💕 Love the baby whisk, your sense of humor, etc …. And your kindness that shines through every video. ✌️
Maybe it’s the coconut sugar (still sugar, even if better for you) and/or vegan Worcester sauce which might also be sweetened. I’m with you don’t want it sweet and would leave these ingredients out.
thanks for sharing! surely i can understand that. the coconut sugar should do too much (do to the amount) but the coconut milk might. feel free to swap out both and shift things around to your preference ❤️
So this recipe was spot on and delicious.. However... The flaxseed is completely needed. I forgot to add the flaxseed to my mixture and I got a ball of mush.. 🤦🏾.. so will definitely make again tomorrow..
I decided to upgrade my old, tiny, underpowered food processor. When the Cuisinart gets here, this will be its first job. My spouse loves Gardein balls but I'm sure he'll love yours too..
I made this tonight and it is so delicious. Can wait for leftovers tomorrow. I have a question; Can I freeze these meatballs with the gravy or without it?
I'm dating a carnivore, but he's willing to try more vegan food, and he's always happy about a home-cooked meal. I'm going to make this for him this weekend -- it looks delicious!
Thanks for the tidbit about your dad. I can sell vegan dishes to the Spousal Unit in lots of cases, but he'll get a "what are you playing at" face when it comes to things like "vegan meatballs". I'm gonna give this recipe a whirl.
Oh our families and loved ones... My Dad was 83 when he passed but was 78 when I went plant based. He was a total meat and potatoes, dairy farm owning guy from America's Midwest. I would have lunch with him every Sunday and make him Plant-Based meals. I never referred to the meals I created for him as Vegan or Plant-Based. If I did, he wouldn't have eaten them. Andrew has given us yet another great recipe. If I made this for my Dad I would just tell him he was eating lentil bites in a white sauce with pasta. Dad enjoyed lentils and the this recipe is seasoned with flavors that his palette was familiar with. Dad would see me frying them in cast iron in a product that looked / tasted like butter. He would gobble it up and ask me to leave the leftovers. Between the Sunday meals and other food I was making him, Dad was eating Vegan without even knowing it. I like to tell myself I had him fooled. At the end of the day, he probably didn't care what he was eating. He just knew it tasted good and he got to spend time with his son. Love, togetherness and food... It's really all we need. ❤
my dad gives my mom that face every time she tries to "fool" him. i find it easier to say to my dad this is what i eat for protein (then present the meal). sometimes adding that it packs just as must or more than protein than chicken and he is all for it. hope you get the hubs to buy in! ❤️
5:10 Was that vegan butter 🧈 frying the meatballs? I’m not really a vegan, but video appeared and looks good! Don’t object to vegan meals or recipes just bec I am not vegan. Also great that you mention different options for flour and the for the legumes to use. Some seasoned cooks would realize it, but an inexperienced cook (like me) might not be confident or lack experience to try different legumes, or wouldn’t think of it! Really increases “accessibility” and reduction of intimidation for inexperienced cooks or folks who just don’t try cooking new dishes! 6:10 Wonderful suggestions! Ty for including suggested sides etc Sometimes when I watch things, not sure of what to serve things with if it isn’t some ting I already used to eating!
Hey there Andrew 👋🏾 I'm liking the new way of Your Content, it's more engaging *to Me* , but however You decide to continue on with it I'm here for it, just don't loose baby wisk or I'll be looking at You like 🤪😂 Another recipe for the books 😊 & yes, please visit Dad more 👍🏾 Be Blessed on/with Purpose 🙏🏾😇💖 ~Sharon J~
I'm neither vegan nor veggie - I just am pretty eclectic in my taste. Question tho - I presume you use flax for the gluey liquid that's created with water instead of using eggs. Can I use chia for that or are flax and chia not substitutable?
Hi looks amazing I want to know what did you put after cook the balls then butter and some thing white powder is it all purpose flour or corn starch thanks love your recipes
it was all purpose flour. sorry about that! here is the recipe link if you want to get the directions written - makeitdairyfree.com/easy-vegan-lentil-meatballs-with-swedish-sauce/#recipe
Beautiful as always. Thank you. For anyone who cares.. I'm not vegan or plant-based (or w/e) either I just like good fewd and I call it like I see it (taste it?). Gimme some Aloo Saag and I'm good.
Why do I only watch these videos when I'm hungry? Always grateful for them. Thank you

my dad gives my mom that face every time she tries to "fool" him. i find it easier to say to my dad this is what i eat for protein (then present the meal). sometimes adding that it packs just as must or more than protein than chicken and he is all for it. hope you get the hubs to buy in! ❤️
love this dad blurb! you're such a great soul 🙌🏾
This is fire 🔥🔥 as usual! Gonna try it tomorrow !
You are amazing!! Thanks for the great recipe
I really like that mushroom stock and haven't been able to find it in my area for at least 8 months.
Gotta say this jazz you have in the background is fucken fire! Big jazzer here.
This looks soooo good! Thanks! ❤

I’ll be sure to try this one out! By the way, I didn’t hear the rain and thunder. And I also didn’t hear the kids. How did you manage that?
I'm neither vegan nor veggie - I just am pretty eclectic in my taste. Question tho - I presume you use flax for the gluey liquid that's created with water instead of using eggs. Can I use chia for that or are flax and chia not substitutable?
