Making our own tofu and sprouts and I also had trays of wheatgrass all over our Sun room… but, I will tell you this… I worked in the health food store at one point, and oh my God, the soups and the tofu dips and the vegan sausages and the no wheat vegan pizzas were amazing. I don’t know why they ever stopped selling those amazing products … plus, if anybody knew vegetarian paradise in New York City at the time and they had the best spring rolls I ever had in my whole life!

I felt the same way about spinach when I was a kid when it came in those slimmy cans. Never hated a food more until I realized I can buy the leaf' s and just mix em with my salad xD it blew my mind at the time texture changes everything

Yes, tofu takes years to figure out. I like to “micro-press” it. Put tofu block in microwaveable dish covered with plastic wrap. Pierce the plastic wrap just a little bit to let a small amount of steam out. Microwave it at 70% for about 5 mins and you’ll be amazed how much water comes out. Drain it. Slice it. While its still warm, toss it with marinade. While its so warm and dry it will drink up that marinade in a second. But I still let it sit in the refrigerator for awhile before cooking in a non stick pan. 😘

I just found your channel and I love it. Especially how you talk about the recipes. The only thing is it's hard to know sometimes what the ingredients and the measurements are, maybe that is on purpose. Either way thanks for posting great vegan recipes.
Love you channel! By the second year of the pandemic I got so sick of cooking I started to experiment with vegan cooking for the challenge. We haven't completely converted but your recipes have changed the way we eat.

You are a lifesaver. I have a large family to cook for, which includes both vegetarian and gluten and dairy free eaters. I used to make three separate meals. And then, I discovered by watching your videos that I could combine the vegetarian and gluten/dairy free entrees into one! Now I only have to make two meals. Lol Thank you!

Hi Andrew, I have a video request, if you are up for it. I saw you always ask about what your subbies want to see. A pantry and kitchen tour with what essentials you always keep stocked would be amazing :) Chickpea salad was bomb. Made it as a wrap, as I had them on hand. Works great as well.
Your wife and family are so blessed to have you. My story with Tofu months ago I purchased the firm may have been extra firm but when I wrapped it to drain the liquid and sat my skillet on it why did it look like the incredible hulk stepped on it? I was flat and well I had to try and fix something which was a fail. My goal was to dry it out slice it and marinade for a few hours in a bbq sauce and put in the oven or air fryer and have a healthy version of bar b que ribs. Did it work? Nope, Lol

If I’m going to crumble the tofu anyway, most of the time I just squeeze the block in my hands over a colander. I let it break and crumble somewhat as I squeeze it. You can get most of the water out in seconds that way and move on with your cooking faster 😊
I love your channel and your humor. But did you know you can replace your blender pitcher with a Mason jar! The blade base screws on perfect. Great for small amounts like you mentioned here. Keep up the work. I believe in good.

I cooked the pasta tonight and it is truly delicious.
You are funny....chickpea pasta (i saw that) zucchini check, coconut milk check, fresh corn check ...I will def try this looks so creamy, the sheetpan cauliflower looks like a winner too...got to think about the tofu...thank you for taking the time to listen and to inspire us with new ideas weekly. If I’m going to crumble the tofu anyway, most of the time I just squeeze the block in my hands over a colander. I let it break and crumble somewhat as I squeeze it. You can get most of the water out in seconds that way and move on with your cooking faster 😊

I love your channel and your humor. But did you know you can replace your blender pitcher with a Mason jar! The blade base screws on perfect. Great for small amounts like you mentioned here.

Hey! Great Recipes and videos. Btw, if you save our wastes (from garlic, peppers, onion, carrots...) you can do your own broth by just boil water with that! It will expire faster, but you can freeze. :) Nice channel!
