HOW TO MAKE GALAPAO BUNS (SOFT & FLUFFY)

  • Cut parchment paper into 12 4x4 squares then set aside. This recipe makes 10-12 buns. Boil, peel & cut 3 eggs into fours then set aside. Thinly slice 2-3 sweet Chinese sausages then set aside.
    For dough: NO YEAST NEEDED
    - 2 cups all purpose flour (sifted)
    - 2 cups cake flour, wheat starch, OR potato starch (sifted)
    - 3/4 cups granulated sugar
    - 1 tsp salt
    - 2 tsp double acting baking powder
    - 2 tbsp oil (any neutral flavored oil)
    - 1 1/3 cup whole milk
    For filling:
    - 2-2.5 pounds of ground pork (not too lean)
    - 1 cup woodear or shiitake mushrooms (chopped)
    - 1/2 cup chopped yellow onions
    - 1/2 cup chopped green onions
    - 1 tsp black or white pepper
    - 2 tbsp golden mountain seasoning sauce
    - 3 tbsp oyster sauce
    - 1tsp salt
    - 1tsp MSG (optional)

    I will try ur recipe. Last time I made using someone recipe and the bun was not white and soft. Can I use American cake flour or it has to be that specific cake flour?

      Fat just pure pork fat because all I had was lean meat. But if you buy ground pork with fat, you won’t have to do this part

    Ohhh can't wait to try it... question you don't use yeast for the dough? What's the difference between active baking powder vs regular baking powder?

      No yeast needed & I’m not sure of the difference in the baking powder but I think for this recipe, either one should work
