- And then they were two 👍👌😄 Finally someone did the right thing and went the whole nine yards in modifying another 35" Jimny. And even better! this Jimny was modified by the world famous 4x4 company Artic Truck Iceland. This Jimny is a 5 speed manual and has a 45mm lift, OME suspension Dick Cepek trail country EXP 35x12,5R15 tires and 15x10" American racing wheels. It also has new 4:88 axle gear diffs and a speedometer correction and more. This is a true Jimny and i look forward to future videos when we test both Jimny's in more extreme circumstances. I really do like these smaller four wheel drive vehicles 🚗, because sometimes smaller is better than bigger and you can also have just as much fun in them too.

Hi, no not in the axle diffs, lower ratios is not possible because of the tire size. Was trying to get new ratios in the Transfer case but they are still not available for automatic transmission. Installed a Supercharger which helped a lot for the torque👍
From where did you get the axle gears? Don't see them listed at the usual Jimny expert shops..

What kind of regulations are there in Iceland for ground clearance changes and that much tire size changes? As in Finland it seems to be really hard to do any that kind of modifications and still keep the car road legal.. As the maximum allowed ground clearance increase is 51mm

What kind of tyres are those? Looks to be a wider tyre. Offset rims too?
You are right. The Artic Trucks Jimny has 15x10” American Racing wheelsbut with the same offset I think!
But the tires are Dick Cepek Extreme 35” and they are more “beefy”

@@hanhs850 It really depends on what you want to achieve with your Jimny! Mine is made for the most extreme snow conditions, like driving over Glaciers, and that’s why I need 35” tires. We needed to cut a lot of metal from the inner fenders to avoid rubbing. If you intend to use your Jimny for medium off-road then you only need 31” tires. The best upgrade yo can do for your Jimny is to change your suspension and tires👍

What’s the total cost of making it?
Hi, it depends on how far you want to go with all the mods. The green one has a basic suspension and 45mm lift kit + rims and tires and a speedometer correction kit. It also has new 4/88 ratios. Total cost is about 13.000$ The black one has a bit more upgrade like inflation/deflation system and a new stereo, bumper and winch and much more. You can double the price 💰💰😄
If you turn a Jimny into an off roader, lifts, tires, etcetera, do you need a new engine put in?
To be honest! yes. But i am in the process of Supercharging my Jimny and i hope that will be enough 👌

There's no way you can actually off road in that thing with those tires.
Maybe you haven’t seen the rest of my video’s on the channel! So far I have taken the Jimny to the top of a Glacier and to places where no Jimny has gone before 😄😳 This Jimny is a real off road 4x4 and these big tires the main reason for it’s off-road capability’s 👍👌

@@thenewjimnychannel361 no offense but those trails are super mild. Does it rub??? Did you re gear? There's no way that thing can crawl on a steep hill with stock gearing. I'll watch the videos. If it can that thing is bad ass. And sorry I'm in disbelief but that's crazy! either way nice jimny and great videos. Iceland looks beautiful!!! @@thenewjimnychannel361 and btw I know that thing is a real off roader and that wasn't my argument. My argument is how do those tires not rub and how the heck does the car move the wheels while in low gearing. The crawl ratio must be horrible now unless you've re geared.
@@alexgarcia3900 no offense taken Alex, I cherish every comment, and just am very thankful to people watching my channel. Yes I have new gear ratios 4.88 and I have also remapped the engine for extra 10-12 hp. Believe me, the Jimny has been tested in very tough circumstances like very steep hills and so on and is has done great 👍 How ever! You can always do better and that’s why I am putting in a Supercharger and also a “low,low gear” which is an Icelandic invention. That helps in those 1% situations. Thanks for watching my video’s

Just another rich mans road legal chopped car, and really bad customer service sadly. (Norway Drammen)
AT38 Hilux Red D-cab is my favorite of them, but the way they do the cars, is no special compared to the offroad guys doing it. (most of them) but they got the papers to back it up.
Wish they would help us getting older cars road legal for private.
I know they have papers for my 99 jimny with 31x10,5x15. but they wont lift a finger to help.
Hi SinnaKjell, i don't know about how Artic Trucks service in Norway! But the owner of the green Jimny is not a rich man and he is very satisfied with the costumer service at Artic Trucks here in Iceland!👍 But it's always a controversial debate what is a good modification and what is not! So far i haven't heard anybody complain about the Artic Trucks mods. But i can relate to having heard that Artic Trucks company has received much criticism through out the years regarding finance issues. The other 4x4 shops here in Iceland have complaint about that banks and other investors have poured money in to the company and still it continues to operate, even though it's loosing a lot of money. I personally had my mods on the "Big Jimny" done by another company. Are the laws in Norway regarding road legal 4x4 more strict than here in Iceland? I can't see what that has to do with Artic Trucks. Maybe you need to form a big 4x4 club like we have in Iceland. Icelandic authorities would not dare to change the laws with out working with the members in the 4x4 comunity 😄
@@thenewjimnychannel361 They wont accept anything over 5% of stock size in norway, unless you have TUV papers. i tryed to get my 31*s legal last week, but there is no way to do so unless someone can help me with paperwork, that states the jimny is safe and tested with them. i have papers for my wheels, et -12 255/60-15. they are very strickt here about size.
I called Arctic trucks drammen, but they could not help me. so im back to nothing sadly.
Norway only care for safety, nature, and saving the world.
Thats said, getting trucks tested and legal would def get safer, but they dont care. i cant reach high enough in the system, yet...

Btw things work differently here in Iceland and the customer service was 5 stars. They delayed it a little bit but that's because they never worked on a 4th gen Jimny and they wanted to make it perfect.
