I think that is the best Gen4 Jimny build I have seen, so much work has gone in to it, but it doesn't stand out as an eyesore. It all fits together perfectly!
@@thenewjimnychannel361 No problem! I have a little sister living in Tálknafjörður (Iceland) so i'm familiar with Icelandic trucks. Furthermore I am a Jimny JB74w owner myself so I must admit that I am a little bit jalous of your build. Mine is only slightly modified, but it fits danish conditions fairly well as such. If you are interested I have a few pictures on my instagram account: instagram.com/andreasbolesen/?hl=da
I love this so much! I have generation 3 but I don't have a lot of money to do these things. I have some protective armor plates underneath for offroading protection, and I am going to have enough money for a snorkel soon! I love your videos!
I agree. I would only swap out the stock tires for all-terrain ones. Yokohoma Geolandar (215/75 r15) fits perfectly, and I like the highlighted white branding on the tires. 😅
This is the optimal Jimny build, I will build mine much milder, skip the tire inflation system and all of the stereo stuff, and go for a liftkit and as big tires as I can fit after that. Generally I am against lifting the body from the frame, but in your case it wouldn't look stupid and it might have saved you some cutting for clearence. (I think you can lift 2" without serious compromizes) Also, the ARB bumper protrudes forward a bit much, not for your monster, but for a milder Jimny, so I would look if there was something else to bolt the winch to. The tip about the motor controller being the same as in the GSXR opens up for many aftermarket parts, although I would probably call your guy in Norway who already have a working solution. Great videos

I barely was able to get into a 2011 Jeep Jk all black like yours and I've been doing little things to it... what I could afford but congratulations on everything working out with your build!!
Thanks for the positive comment 👍 I really thought about doing that but I am trying to keep the Jimny as light as possible so I decided not to because they are to heavy. I have the tires clued on and that has not failed me yet 👍
@@thenewjimnychannel361 aha ok make sense about the weight but I don’t know if the glue could handle low pressure for extreme off-roading also the beads look SIIICK 😂 especially with your build

You are obviously a Drive-a-Jimny-in-Iceland expert. I rented a Jimny in September 2023 for 2 weeks, but did not really drive on the F-roads. August this year I return and plan on more F-road driving and I already rented a Jimny again. Say rainfall and other weather conditions are normal, would you say that I should be fine driving to Landmannalaugar (Northern route F26/F208, actually I would prefer to go by F225 and catch F208 just before Landmannalaugar) and Kerlingarfjôll in the Jimny? Any input if I continue on F208 towards Huldufoss or should I not press my luck? I`m confident about driving to Thakgil. Thorsmörk I have decided to take the bus to and back, as I am not too confident about the final 2-3 river crossings before Thotsmörk. Thanks, Per
Very nice achievement. I am very interested in the manufacture of the additional tank. Please, can you show us more detail? how is the filler neck positioned, what type of pump is used? where the gasoline is returned in the original tank? is there an additional canister? is there a gauge?
It´s kind of hard to explain in text. Maybe i will post a short video soon. But the short version is that you fill both tanks in the same fuel filling hole. The pipes to both tanks are joined together at the top of filling hole and you only have to adjust the fuel gun slightly to the left or right for each tank. When the main tank gets low on fuel i hit a button marked "FUEL" on the electric control box in dash and a small pump in reserve tank pumps fuel to the main tank and basically refills it. The only problem is that you have to remember to manually switch of the pump when the reserve tank is empty. Hope this explains the big picture👍
@@thenewjimnychannel361 thank you very much for your answer it's very clear, i wanted to do exactly the same thing but a professional told me that the gasoline vapors from the new tank will create a canister fault. your fuel pump is external or internal? can you share the model?

I've seen the problems you've had with gearing and power, I'm surprised you didn't consider a portal axle kit which would have given a gear reduction and enabled bigger tyres to be fitted without spending tonnes on a suspension lift kit and or power upgrades. Beautiful Jimny though none the less, mine is standard at the moment. I'm tempted by the TIBUS portal axle kit!
Thanks for watching my video. Would absolutely have done portal axles at the time I was doing the upgrade, but I didn’t know they were available back then. But they are hugely expensive and I doubt they are any cheaper option than the rest of the upgrade I’ve done so far.
