Absolutely stunning and a conversation piece. If you took that out of your pocket people would be impressed and probably asked where you purchased it from and that is a major part of our hobby, to get others involved and appreciate the beauty of knife collecting and the reason why we do it. Great video
I’ve been meaning to pick up a couple of them!!!!! Can you believe I don’t have one in the collection……. I’m definitely going through RR withdrawal it’s been awhile since I picked a couple up!!!!! Thanks buddy!!!!!!!
I think it is great little knife that lets you find out what Abalone covers look like. It makes it a good idea to do; before you buy one that costs more than this little one does.✨🦉✨
Nice review! You, William and Tobias all influenced me to get one. I was on the fence but after using it for a while, I am a big fan! Very capable knife. I need to get some more.
Thats a nice looking cub love the abalone, blade centering should be bang on for that price though but other than that i love those little lockbacks...Thanks TK
I've made it a point not to pick up Queen knives from China. I made an exception for the pearl and the abalone cub lock back. Those are really beautiful. Yeah, I know they are just a Rough Ryder with a different tang stamp but the quality is there and they are fabulous! (it has a Lee Press-on Balde!) Thanks for the review!
Tobias did a video on the Cub lockback or first marketed Squirrel Hunter. That's what got me interested in the pattern, abalone is a very nice handle material which gives it a classy look. Queen City is a little more expensive then RR but they seem to do excellent work on the quality of their knives as well as beautyfull designs. Thank you for the review TK.
A couple of observations. I have both of the Queen City Cubs, abalone and pearl, and I have five of the Rough Rider models. QC blades are not swaged, while the RRs are. On the other hand, four of the five sport the "Big R" bolsters, and two of the five back locks are very difficult to release. Tobias is right---the pearl and abalone scales on the Queen City Cubs are beautiful!
That’s a lovely knife, but too expensive for me. I’d rather have two and a half RR cubs for the same price. But then I have a leg up on cheapness, genetically speaking. Lol. The cub is an awesome pattern, for sure.
After getting the Finch Lucky 13, I have a new found respect for Abalone! Can definitely have some amazing colors!!! Thanks TK!
Thanks BigRed. It's a real nice material for a handle.

Yea I think you're right. Pocket Jewelry.
Now that is a different looking knife! What a great piece. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks KD. Abalone is a classy look.
Nice looking knife. The cub makes a good fifth-pocket carry. Thanks for sharing.
I agree. Thanks North Star

This is one to get!
You should! Thanks Pete.
RR makes some seriously nice inexpensive knives.
I need to get that one. The Abalone is fantastic looking.
Yep! I was really impressed with these!
Thanks guys. The do look really nice.

Yea that's exactly right. A little trial run before you sink a bunch into something. Good comment Gizmo.
Really nice. That abalone is beautiful!
It's a wonderful material for a handle, I agree.
Yup I'll be picking this one.
Are you? Thanks for the feedback Rick.
Beautiful knife!
Thanks Stuart. Take care.
Beautiful knife
Thanks Elphoenix, I agree.

Sounds much like my experience with it as well. In hand you take a liking to it. Thank you RJ.

It's manual centering don't you know?. The Cubs are great little workers. Thanks JP.

They cost a little more, but you can't argue with the beautiful appearance. Thanks for stopping in Tobias.
The brown saw cut bone barlow and canoe are pretty nice too.

Yes, well said Jeroen. I "Squirrel" this one away in a 5th pocket.
Nice...I have been eye ball'in the canoe.
That's a good one two. I may get it eventually. Money is tight right now.

Thanks Larry. I appreciate the comments. The R is going away and so for any future Cub releases that's a real nice thing to look forward to.
Might have to pick one up
You like this one Rusty?, Cool. Thanks for the feedback.
How old is the classic cub design been around for In general do you think
Yea I'm really not sure, I know it existed as a Squirrel Hunter as well. Just not something I've researched. Thanks Brett.
Do you use your knives?
Absolutely. Justine. Thanks, for watching.
Not sure about non pinned adhesive...
Looks real nice.
To bad Sparkle has R. May come across grey...$10.
Yea I'd like to see that one in hand. Thanks Rick.
@@ThriftyKaniffy or a gold sparkle done right.

I understand, but sometimes splurging a little gets you something nice.
Or it's like a Porsche, pay to remove items/lightweight." You pay to remove the "Slant R" bolster.🤣👍
Well maybe Seb, but the abalone is worth a little more cost too.
@@ThriftyKaniffy IK, just joking. Since I'm indifferent about the Slant R, while some really don't like it. 😱
That's a lot of weight for such a small blade. Not for pocket carry in my pocket!
Ok. Thanks for the feedback.
17.69 ckw
There you go. A bit more savings. Thanks Rick.
@@ThriftyKaniffy Tons of appeal. This is one that will get compliments a piece of pocket jewelry.
Yea its a getter.
Nice looking but not my cup of tea, couldn't carry here anyway because it locks, just goes to show how stupid our knife laws are.
Thanks for the feedback Lewis. Such a threatening knife, isn't it?
@@ThriftyKaniffy I know crazy laws.
