@dylanbanningTaking Root won't launch simultaneously on Switch. If the PC version is successful then I will port it to switch. I'm aiming for a Q2/Q3 2024 release. No idea when the platformer will be done as I haven't even started pre-production on it yet.
@6:51 - 6:56 Good. I actually like it when the game tests your sense of direction and memory with the absence of a map. It's why I can find myself playing Metroid NES again, despite how old it is.
I've been really interested in the 5th gen style. Something about the early 3D graphics evokes a sense of wonder and mystery in the world that would be missing in future generations. Cuz you can just make it all look really good now instead of having that sort of dream-like quality and letting your mind fill in the blanks.
Corn Kidz 64, Penny's Big Breakaway(less retro appearance), Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom and Celeste 64(huh?!) are additional cool ones. although I should finish the bonus stuff in Toree 2...
Let me know in the comments which one is your favourite!
Corn kidz 64 is a great addition to this. Banger list man. These games rule
I had a dream of playing the coolest old school 3D platformer I’ve ever seen and now I have to make it.
If you do, be sure to tell me about it!
@dylanbanning that's the plan!
@dylanbanningAfter I finish Taking Root I am planning on working on a smaller title that will likely be a 3D Platformer

@dylanbanning For Taking Root? There will be a new trailer within the next couple months
Loved Cavern of Dreams. Probably my 2nd fave game last year

I’m gonna play ALL of these. I’ve already played Pseudoregalia and the first Toree (didn’t know there was a sequel!) but all of these look incredible!
I'm not a developer and never play these kind of games, but I will watch the video because of your presentation style.
Psilosybil needs to be added to this list
I just discovered that game yesterday actually!
As much as I like N64, PS1, and Saturn inspired games. I really wish there were more 6th generation inspired games, I haven't seen any.
Check out Happy the Hippo! It's a really cool looking 6th gen style 3d platformer.
Pseudoregalia seems awesome, will give it a try.
Cavern of dreams looks the best by far. Wow.
Toree and Lunistice are what Sonic on Saturn should've been back then; in my humble opinion.
Does Toukie come from another game too ?
Yes Toukie is from an action game called Holomento. I didn't mention it since it's not a 3d platformer.
@@hackticdev okay, thanks ^^
Can you play tore 3d on a ps1 emualtor?
No. It's a modern game for modern hardware.
Corn Kidz 64, Penny's Big Breakaway(less retro appearance), Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom and Celeste 64(huh?!) are additional cool ones.

I'm gonna make a part 2 eventually and cover these
very cool!
Are any of these on consoles?
All of them except for Psuedoregalia are on Switch too
Toree is super fun
rare 64 platformer games were fairly easy?? o.O
The 3d ones, yes. The 2d ones like DK Country, less so.
👍
