    Thanks for the video! I have one minor thing if you're someone like me
    There are different sized screws. Keep approximately 5 or so bags around (along with a sharpee to label said bags) because all in all I got it done, but I ended up losing a screw as the screwdrivers that came with the kit both just suddenly lost magnetism on me, and another screw that doesn't seem to fit in the last place I needed to put a screw (it's too short).
    So don't be like me, bag and label your screws based on the part you take them from ( external y screws, external philips, shoulder button, speaker, board, etc) so that you don't have a random screw that you can't figure out where it's supposed to go.

    thank you!! a friend of my family brought me two switch lites -- a nonworking donor system with a working joystick, and a working one that just needs a joystick replacement. so i had to open up two of these. i honestly thought i had screwed up, since the white part on one of the flex cables just... sorta... disintegrated off. and since i'm new to reconnecting those, i wasnt sure i did it right, but the system came on! omg! and maybe one day i'll feel brave enough to try & fix the nonworking donor now that it's probably mine to keep, XD

    Another guide that I saw said that you should remove and disconnect the battery from the mainboard after opening up the Switch Lite before continuing with the repair. It was stated that this is for safety reasons.
    Removing the metal plate to get to the battery requires you to remove the old thermal paste from the cpu, and apply new paste before reinstalling the metal plate. How important is it to go about disconnecting the battery, in terms of safety while doing this repair?

    I need help. I replaced 2 Nintendo Switch joysticks (all 4 of them). One came out perfect no issues and the other has no power after replacement. I tried everything, same procedure and process as the one that works. I reinstalled the old ones to see if that was it and still no power. No loose connections, no damage to the cables, added new thermal paste to both of them. Is there any reason why this happened? I even tried all the methods. Charging it, doing the power + low volume method. Nothing works. Could it be the battery? Previously the battery would drain pretty quick compared to the one that works. Do you think when I disconnected the battery it just gave out?

      You will need either a screw extractor, or very carefully drill screw out.

    My oldest had the big switch and had bad stick drift and got a replacement pac of joysticks and they are black but they worked on a switch lite and the ribbon fit

    Do I have to buy both of the pack of the tools?

    • @TheFixTech
      @TheFixTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, just one set of tools. Sometimes the joysticks come with or without tools.

    On the Backside of the Joystick is a Number with Letters like (95R1).
    Is that important?

      Could be a part number, a lot of sellers will sell an improved design which I recommend

    are the tools that come with the joystick okay too?

      Yes, they are good enough for a repair. Will not last for multiple repairs though…

      I recommend disconnecting the battery next time so you don't have to fry the motherboard.
