Bulk Slash is one of the best 3D action games on the Saturn, and it has easily one of the best fan translations in years. Pilot a giant robot, choose your favorite female navigator, and blast off to sci-fi cityscapes and the deepest reaches of space.

If you want to make dubbing a little more authentic, you should consider changing the pronunciation of sergeant to sarent. As a veteran of the US Army, I can say for certain that no one except for old ass people pronounce the whole thing, they all pretty much just say "sarent" for short.
How might one acquire you guys work?

You ever see a game and know it was just made for YOU explicitly? That's how I felt the whole time watching this. I would 100% this game and not doubt myself for a second. I've never even really indulged in the Saturn as it typically didn't have my kind of games but I'll have to find a totally legal way to play this one.

One of my favorite things i noticed about the fan translation while watching your video is something I didn't see mentioned in the comments yet (sorry if I missed it): all of the MISSs are named after 80s American wrestling figures! Dusty Rhodes, Brett and Owen Hart, Ric Flair, Randy Savage, Rick Rude, Scott and Rick Steiner, and finally Ted DiBiase. Someone on the team was a wrestling nerd lmao. Luckily none of them were named McMahon. Keep up the awesome work, you're quickly becoming one of my favorite creators
Oh wow, fantastic catch there. I only have minor knowledge of pro wrestling so I kept feeling like there was something up there but I couldn't place it, I'd have never figured that one out!
Late comment, but I have to say I too appreciate Colon for what she is- a magnificent troll on the behalf of players with that ending :)
Also really curious what happened with reviewers that made them so negative- something about the gameplay that just didn't hit home with the japanese gamers.
yes another all time favorite of mine and as again you did a really good job. i need to replay through this again in English because i played this a ton before it was translated but from what i heard of the voice work here i think its really good. funny enough still use the menu theme song as my ring tone to this day no joke lol
Great choice for a ringtone! Yeah, I was really blown away by the fan dub. I'm usually all for Japanese voices only, but can't deny how much effort the translation team put into this one. It's excellent.
I can't believe I've never heard of this series! it really reminds me of Power Dolls for the PC-98 and CRW for PlayStation.

Didn't have a Saturn back in the day but finally picked one up 3 or 4 years ago. What a great system! After I got it, I “acquired” a whole bunch of games, mainly exclusives, and this was one that caught my eye but I never got around to playing it. Time to rectify that! Nice work mate. Definitely worth a like! For your future endeavors though, before you sit down to record your script, take like half an hour and drink a cup or two of water. It'll get rid of that background lip smacking.

The only other game that I know of with a fandub is Ys IV Dawn of Ys for the PC Engine. That game also has a surprisingly great dub with proper compression and 90's esthetics that makes it sounds completely period specific.

Great Saturn game, fun to play and finally with translation I can understood plot. I finish it few times and like to back for more fun.
Unfortunately this translation came out way after my Sega Saturn time. I would have devoured this back then. One of the best Saturn games.

I would have been soooo into this as a teenager, if I had the opportunity to play it. The replayability for the different endings seems super fun... and it's pretty amazing the fan translators did that VA work. In-gameplay voiced comments are like the one circumstance where it makes sense to me to go with a dub rather than a sub, also, so there's more to that decision than just wanting to nail the 90's dub vibe. God knows if I'll ever get around to it, but this is surely now on my list of things I want to play myself... and of course they made the loli the secret hardest to get girl haha.... I would have a mission to accomplish if I played this. I really should do that when I'm feeling like it... like a year from now lol. Thanks for making this video, it's way better than total ignorance of such a fun gem of a game. (I had heard of this amazing translation, but again, hadn't seen an enjoyable video covering it until now)

Isn't exactly a game I'm interested in but still looks pretty great, I like how well animated the character sprites talking/reacting look
I couldn't help but think this would be a game Jamie from the show Megas XLR would like to play(or maybe make Coop play with Jamie's choice of navigator), after all chicks dig giant robots but in all seriousness this is an impressive game & the team translating it had a lot of hard work to get this not only setup but add in more accessibility.
Something tells me if someone has the skills to they could make a mod so the childhood friend could be saved & become one of the MISS you can replay the game with to get a good end with.(Maybe make the excuse a robot replacement took her place or auto pilot based on her as an excuse for her boss fight)

Yes! In fact by default you don't have a MISS on board, you have to deliberately retrieve them.
