Thank you very much for this very touching review. You really nailed it when it comes to what we were trying to express with the game's backstory. I wasn't aware of that Camera glitch where you can't switch tools after control is taken from the player. Will look into it for sure. 🤙
Hey! Thank you for watching! And for making such an incredible game. It's one of my favorites of recent years. I've played through it a few times now. I've also got the sequel wishlisted. Didn't mention it in the video, because I found out about it after I'd finished editing, but I'm hyped!

Maybe this is just me reading too much into it, but when I saw our avatar image on the top floor of the Geo City building... that was when it hit me. That we were simply "returning home", earning back what we willingly casted away. That we are the dev that left. The apartment at the end? It's the same apartment we can see beyond the door in the main menu, should we want to leave the game instead. It's our home in the real world, and a reflection of how fucked up it is, probably the reason folks want to stay in the illusion that is NATEM. This is just my interpretation, but I think we go through the Innernet to find a backdoor into the core of NATEM, to shut it all down. There are still some mysteries I don't fully understand. Are ZeroChan and OneeChan the same, one being an earlier version of another? Is Error the actual ZeroChan? And was OneeChan modelled after the Dev's soulmate, who then left him? Is she the other dev, or would that be the ellusive Phisherman? Such a mystery it is... I wonder if the VR game will shine some light on it...

I prefer to see "the internet", and any other form of escapism, be it games, books, music, films, anime, whatever, not in the mutually exclusive, dualistic sense of "doing this instead of real life", but rather as simply another part of existence, of "real life". Looking at anything that makes one happy or keeps one sane, in that mutually exclusive sense, just reminds me of dumb teenagers saying "get a life" to each other in attempted put-downs. Like, what's the point of seeing anything that way, other than trying to be the person who thinks they're better than everyone else? Once one has been alive for long enough and experienced many different kinds of living, everything is a legitimate part of existence, including escapism.
I don't know, man. I get what you're trying to say, but we as humans have not fully grasped the implications of the Internet and being constantly wired and what it is doing to our psyches. We did not evolve as a species to be consuming content constantly.
3:40 DEAR GOD! That is some hard nostalgia from my childhood right there. Brings me right back to the mid-90's and yelling across the house to make sure no one was on the phone at the time.
i’ve always avoided videos about broken reality because in my head i tout myself as the biggest fan of broken reality (over 100 active hrs to brag) but i couldn’t help when i realized dungeon made a vid about it

SoBe! Yes, that’s totally it. I couldn’t remember while writing the script for this video and even researched but couldn’t find anything. As soon as I saw what you wrote though, I immediately remembered it. Memory is weird indeed.

I figured to game was gonna be more style over substance (which isn't necessarily a bad imo) but I left the game with a whole lot more substance than I expected. Ahh I keep meaning to watch more of your videos, but two minutes into them you have me wanting to play them for myself first, your enthusiasm for them is infectious.
I'm so glad I found your channel, absolutely loving all your reviews and probably wouldn't have found some of these games otherwise. I was NOT expecting this game to hit as hard as it did when I played it a while ago. It kinda has a similar vibe to hypnospace outlaw just with different gameplay.

Enjoying the longer videos! This game is really interesting, I love the aesthetic and the plot took me by surprise, I'm going to be picking this one up. I love broken/forgotten/alternate takes on the internet, there's just something about that theme that always makes me happy, it reminds me of the Otherland series.
An amazing tribute to an amazing game!!!!! I finished it about 2 months ago and I still think about it a lot. It might have been asked/suggested, but there is a game kind of similar to this called 'Hypnospace Outlaw' that is a point and click 1999 internet simulator. Hypnospace has a spin-off Boomer Shooter called 'Slayers X: Terminal Aftermath: Vengance of the Slayer' (vengeance is spelled wrong on purpose). Both would be right up your alley.

This is maybe based in VRChat + Vaporwave (and others aesthetics, like Synthwave). Zerochan was made in the likeness of your ex-girlfriend which later developed a consciousness, OneeChan promises that you can see the admin if you get popular enough, which makes me believe the OneeChan IRL is your ex-girlfriend, who has since abandoned the game following your breakup. The only way to reunite with her is to delete all of Broken Reality and delete Zero/Onee and all the NPCs you've met so far.
