HOW TO FIX SAGGING SOFT SOFA CUSHIONS:! Please, I use to repair furniture. It's not your springs, it's the Foam that does all the support, most often foam does not have to be replaced, it's often best not to replace it, it's expensive and difficult. Just simply make it into a sandwich-add a foam sheet, and call it good for many many more years. Thats because once foam sags, it's just broken in and will retain that same reduced firmness for many many years. So if a piece of foam is simply added, bring it back to a desirable firmness support, the old foam can serve another long life for the owner. So find or cut, say about a 2" thick sheet of upholstery type foam, sometimes found as trash-as packing material for computer equipment etc. Test lay the sheet on top of the sagging seat and sit on it. If still not firm enough, use more or a thicker piece or a firmer type of foam. Make your selection of what is needed. Compress the foam as needed so there's no undue stress on the fabric and it's seams during this procedure: Unzip and carefully roll up the fabric, revealing the sagging foam core until there is the minimum left on the front nose of the cushion. Use a spare hacksaw in hand to saw-cut from back to almost but not through the front(leave as a hinge) of the sagging foam core, at a middle horizontal level. Place the foam sheet in the cut, as if it is a piece of meat placed in a hinged sandwich. As a more secure option, spray foam approved adhesive to both sides of the foam sheet and quickly press it all together and sit on it for a five minutes. Use the hacksaw blade to trim any excess foam sheet edge that's sticking out. If the seat core is wrapped in soft material, properly position as needed. -spray adhesive as desired. Now sternly bend and compress the foam where needed so there's no undue stress against the fabric as you roll the fabric back over the foam. If the fabric is uneven, insert your hand and tug on fabric as needed to adjust. Zipper it shut. Congrats
Why didn't you make your own video to show this instead of writing the directions. Would be easier to understand, that's why we are on here, to watch video demonstrations. Just a thought.
This was great. I spent about 45 min sweating and trying to put a cover on a window cushion. Can You use thin paint plastic sheets. ( that's what I call them)
White vinegar. It neutralizes pee smell and shouldn't harm material. Spray on discreet area to make sure. Smells like a salad until dry leaving no scent of vinegar. If pee is deep into cushions, spray to moisten material then pour enough vinegar to soak down into foam.

The plastic we use is called silky and is very, very thin. It can be purchased from various upholstery supply stores, or you can call us at 1-800-433-7440. What also works very well is when you get items from the dry cleaners the plastic they use is very thin and works great.
Do any of these people realize that their questions have double entendres?! Many think he said, ""BJ." Then others are thanking him for the "tip" and asking where they can buy the "white stuff!" Are they kidding? LOL! Maybe some of these guys need to go back to school! LOL...TOO FUNNY!!!!

So it wasn’t a bag of plastic but the sides didn’t need to be closed for it to function like a bag?
If one leaves the plastic is it noisy? I was thinking maybe it could add a water resistant layer?
What a wonderful tip!
