The fact that you save money and the environment makes you a hero in my book. And, BTW...I am on my third sofa in three years. You just saved my conscience.

You just saved me $$$$ on my sofa. I took apart some old pillows and used them, so it cost me absolutely nothing. Many thanks

I knew I was saving those old feather bed pillows for a reason! I have a 30+ year-old A Rudin sofa that is still in great shape except for the sad sagging cushions. I didn't want to spend a lot (or anything at all, actually :)) and your solution is fantastic. Thank you thank you!!

You are a life saver. I am trying to reinvent myself at fifty seven years old and I have always had an interest in refurbishing furniture. No upholstery schools near me. I am so grateful I found you.

Do you have a video of how to make the envelopes? Would you recommend putting in a foam insert wrapped by feathers/down? I want a firmer feel and something that stays up instead of drooping.

I love your commitment to the environment. It's one of the single most important issues of our time. I'm so dismayed at what a second thought or even a non thought the effect of our actions and consumerism is for so many people.

Great advice. We have 2 large down cushions on the back of our really well built old Thomasville love seat which we bought new. They are great but the cushions on the large deep seat were partially down filled and so hard to keep the filling in place so I had the seat cushions replaced. That was about 12 years ago and the replacements have held up beautifully. That sofa is almost 20 years old and we still really love the style. Its sort of an overstuffed piece. It is worth buying good quality sofas in solid colors because when they start to get a bit tired looking they are well worth having work done on them to extend their life. Thanks for sharing this. Way too much good furniture is going into landfills because of bad purchases or people not being aware of the work upholsterers do. Id rather buy an old sofa and have it upholstered. The frames are much better than whats made today.

No one has a how-to for replacing fill on a down/feather wrapped sofa cushion. Would you consider a how-to? I have a perfectly good custom Drexel sofa with a middle cushion that has just flattened horribly. Your videos are great! Thx

Question time : I looking to redo my rear cushions on my couch, and I unzipped them and found a manufacturers tag that told me it had Fibre in it. I'm not looking to completely replace all the stuffing in it, just fill in the difference. Is there a specific type of poly fill I should be looking for? Also, how much should I need? I see you can buy the material by the pound, and I'm doing 2 cushions, roughly 36inx18in. I'm not sure what a 1 lb. bag fills vs. a 10 lb. bag. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you mind giving me your opinion on an idea that I have? I see that they make pillow toppers for mattresses that are baffled. I have a three cushion cane back sofa that I'd like to convert into a single cushion with a little crown. I want to be able to flip it over and use both sides. I was thinking that one of these mattress toppers could make a great envelope for a foam interior to make a nice. single cushion. What do you think of that idea? I'm "baffled" on this one myself!
