      ucsolutions Can I send my cushions to yo-yo fro right new foam in my existing cover? Or, can you demonstrate how to easily remove and insert foam that has a t or l shape.

    • @ucsolutionsgivingmore
      @ucsolutionsgivingmore  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hello Stephen, thank you for your comment, we do appreciate it. No, we do not fill covers with foam from online clients, only for in-shop clients. We do have on the site videos to help you measure and order the new foam inserts. ucprivatecourses.com/product/sofa-seat-cushions-foam-inserts/ As for removing the inserts it honestly very easy, unzip the back cover, reach into the cover get a hold of the L or T part of the foam and pull it down and out toward the back. To insert the new foam simply do the reverse process. I hope this has helped you, we do not have a video on removal and inserting the foam SOON! Until then perhaps this will get you through. All the best, Paul

    Folks --- learn from this man and his confident son. You can tell that the dad has done an incredible job loving and raising him. In addition, the son is THE MOST awesome and confident. It is not arrogant confidence --- it is wisdom. Congrats to both of you .... and if there is a mom in the picture then of course hats off to her too.

    I came here to of course get ideas on fixing my sunken couch but you two are so distracting. All I can think about is how did you get to have such a close yet respectful relationship with your son? When I do have a son, I hope that he has a similar relationship with his father. You (and his mother?!) clearly did an amazing job! Overall, the video is very informative and was a pleasure to watch... thank you!

      Yeah, I thought WOW..they are father and son, but have a very kind supportive RESPECT for each other...you sure could see how your son looked at you and how he spoke so articulately, that he has listened to every word you have spoken to him and what a great honor...and a really soul touching thing to see...especially of this generation of kids it's really cool to see. Your son is a beautiful reflection of your commitment his trust in you and a faith you must share, to which I SAY and all God's people said........AAAAAAMEN!🌎✌🏼

      I like the way you and your son work together.....nothing feels good like having a child who is into what you do and wants to learn. You two make a great duo. Plus I have learned sth from this....I am actually getting some foams tomorrow for a set of L shaped sofa my carpenter was making for me, I am the one deciding the quality of materials I want him to use so he has decided that I should come along with to the market to buy exactly what I want, from foam to fibre and the cloth material.....so I am practically doing a research on everything, so you and your son highlighting the density 9f the foam to buy is very important to me. Thank you

    The relationship you two have, father/son, is one to be extremely proud of. Additionally, kudos to dad for preparing his son to be his own boss and not be dependent on corporate America for his livelihood, unless he is contractually obligated to do so, ie. repair furniture, etc. I don’t know the age of your son, but he appears to be mature beyond his years and very articulate. Great job, mom, dad, and the village!

    Great video! I took an upholstery class through Fairfax County ACE program with Mr. Will SOWELL, who has been in the business for over 20 years. This video was comparable to his classes. Thank you so much for sharing your expertise. Also, it is wonderful you are passing on your craft, to your son. Your video was thorough, personable, professional, and easy to understand. Have you thought of offering classes? The ACE program in FF no longer offers this class.

    Wow! I knew there was more to this than just replacing the foam (because I did that). This step-by-step, extremely detailed video is outstanding. Too many times the DIY videos assume the audience knows more than they do. Hi Brock,
      Thank you very much for the kind compliments, my father makes it easy, and I try to do the same! I did a bit of research and found a care kit if you are interested for Nubuck. It's from a leather company that we religiously use. The care kit is to the trade only, however I can order it for you if you are interested.
      If you are interested, shoot me an email at videos@urbancastlesolutions.com, so I can get you the price with shipping.
      I hope this helps!

    Hello and thank you for that informative video. I will have to re-watch to try to figure out the foam density and compression info again but that is one of the things I have been searching for. Also, I didn't see anything about automotive upholstery. Do you work with car seats also? I was at an aircraft upholstery shop once and I remember that they were creating and building up seat cushion foam by using a contact cement and were using different density foam to make a seat depression for one's bottom to help you stay in your seat.
    Could you provide some infor on this or do you know any videos that describe this process?
    Again, thanks again for this video. It got me thinking.

    I'm enjoyed this alot. I've running a auction company for over 25 years. We used to send items out for repair. Now I'm repurposing single chairs that I can buy cheap and covering them with cowhide. The profit of recovering is insane. But now I'm trying to do this myself with foam inserts to do even more. Thanks for a great video. I'll be following you to learn more from you all.

    I agree with the others, this is a great video; thanks for posting. Like others, I look at the Albany foam website and was confused about the proper foam to get. It likes like you are talking about the Ultra Foam (page 6 in their PDF catalog). But those are complete sheets. I did not see anything about them offering a service to cut to length. Can you help explain the best way to order? Or do you recommend getting the full sheet and cutting it myself. Thanks.

    • @ucsolutionsgivingmore
      @ucsolutionsgivingmore  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Cindy, Sorry for the slow reply things get out of hand fast around here. Good Question, you can buy the sheet and cut it yourself or if you call they will help and email the measurements to them they will cut the foam for you. They will even put the Dacron wrap on for you.There's a lot of other places to purchase foam online this is just one. Yes that is correct I only use the highest density Ultra foam is the best, it'll hold up and last longer. This method in the video is the basic style offered by standard factories. Open your cover and see how your foam is from the factory and copy that. The safest thing to do is the thicker the foam you need is to go softer. Please check out the videos again maybe it'll make more sence. I hope this has helped you. Cheers, Paul

    At first, I wondered to myself, “Why am I watching this?” Then, a minute or so in, I found myself “hooked”….or should I say “stapled”! Anyway, I’m restoring a 1910-1920(?) mission style Stratford Chair Co. (furniture manufacturer out of Ontario Canada) chair. Obviously, I am not replacing the moldy batting and horsehair stuffing, opting instead for foam. This video is outstanding…and regarding density numbers, educational. I do have a question….why the Dacron layer? Why not just the foam? Anyway…when the time comes, I’ll certainly order my foam from UCSolutions. Bravo-Zulu, gentlemen…neat to see a father and son working together, so, well done. Another great visit to TH-cam-land! And besides that….I now know why I watched it!

    • @ucsolutionsgivingmore
      @ucsolutionsgivingmore  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey thanks for all the encouragement 😊 Good question. Dacron just gives soft feelings with a lofted look. Its easier to slide in the foam in the covers. Plus it foam and fabric would rub and tearing down both fabric and foam. Thanks again I enjoyed reading it. Cheers, Paul
