Looka like a fun car to drive. Id like to see a datalog of rpm. Not saying he ain't revvin up there. Just cant see the tach and i know what it takes to turn 10000 rpm reliably and what did it run?
In the last pass he stretches the motor out in 4th. We run 6.00 rear gear, 4th gear ratio is 1.24:1 (5th is 1:1) and we run a 28” tire, that pass in 4th was 115mph so you can do the math These were slower passes, track was very hot air was even hotter, we have been 5.70s at 120 on a good prep with good air, this was 5.9-6.0 at 115mph.
Anyone who knows small blocks know the sounds at certain RPMs . This is easily in the 10k range. Listen to the Judd 134 3.4 revving to 12k RPM from Georg Plasa the hill climb legend. This engine isn't far off. Once again if you question the sound, you don't know small block 8s
@real_talk8749 lol, my friend you take me the wrong way. Ive built 10,000 rpm engines that cost alot of money, so I DO KNOW whats up. But, as stated, I'd like to see a data stream, not an I seen on the tach stuff. Funny how people see something and just assume so much from words alone. I have street cars that run low 5s on drag radials in the 1/8th. Also, sound is very deceiving.
Teach me lol I live in Australia and I would love to know how, the 351 Cleveland is what I want in my 68 mustang and with this kind of motor I would put my brother's Toyota chaser too shame haha 😂 for some reason he thinks all V8s are slow wth aye lol 🤦🤷
@@boss_racing Interesting that it ran the same mph. Then again, you were only in 5th on the first pass for a blink. Either way, it's a good data point. Thanks for the reply. We are building a 406 Man o-War 9.2 deck block with Cleve heads for my Fox. It's going to be nasty, but it's also going to be driven mostly on the street.
Solid roller cam with good springs and rockers, good as in a psi or pac not a summit spring. H beam rods with forged pistons, big enough intake and headers. Not hard to do.
@@boss_racing thanks for the quick response. I will look make sure to stay away from summit 🤙🏽. What’s the highest rpm stock rods and pistons can go up to if the heads are built. If have no choice I’ll have get new rods, I was just trying to avoid it. Thanks again boss
Stock rods are not good high rpm pieces, you’ll hear all kinds of stories with guys taking stock rods past 7000 back in the day without issue but I have seen several of them break. The extra 500 bucks for h beam rods is absolutely worth the cost.
What she 456 or lower???these boys talkn early shifting haven't never banged threw one without touching the 3rd pedal or drove a fox with tractor gears!!!! LMAO young, ens😂
Greatest smallblock of all time. fantastic driving too.👍
Thanks man
The 335 engine series were not small blocks. Please brush up on ford v8s . It was designed to replace fe big blocks

I love seeing the old school drive by ear !!!
Got that 5 spd sounding like a auto with those smooth shifts!!!
I never get tired of listening to that thing scream!👍
DAMN that'll send a honda boy running in terror lmao

Should be noted that there’s no 2 step on this car either, and definitely no data logger lol

@boss_racing I like the car an what yall doin with it. Been subbed 4 a long time. Not knockin yall in any way.
And camshaft details?
This one is 270 at .050 and .740”
How do you get a Cleveland to rev that high? That's awesome
Dollars and cents lol lots of time spent on the induction of this engine

Awesome car Ford powered forever baby keep on pulling the knot out of them boties and the horns off them mopars l love it
What transmission do you have ?
Liberty 5 speed here
You ran 5 gears in the first pass, but only 4 in the second. Different rear gear?
Same gear, he just wanted to see where the engine nosed over, strangely enough it didn’t, ran the same et and mph as the previous pass

@@boss_racing ok. Will do.
Hi port plates?
No high port plates on this engine. Iron 4v heads with lots of exhaust work. They flowed almost 250 on the exhaust at .750”
