    I’m not an expert on the subject but I do know something about it. Are you sure he is correct? It’s usually the opposite of what he says. The organic fabrics are the ones that are usually eaten away and it’s the synthetic fabric is the one that is left behind. So for the first fabric, it would usually by the black part that is the silk. Are there different types of agents that react differently to different materials for burnouts?

      Hi Josefk5659, thank you for your comment. Yes, we are 100% sure he is correct. David Park has been in the silk business for 30+ years.
      Do not think of the fibers as "organic" and synthetic" because that is not the reason a burnout works. The reason a burnout works is because the chemical reacts and dissolves the cellulose fiber (rayon), leaving only the protein fiber (silk) behind.
