- Even though agents J (Will Smith) and K (Tommy Lee Jones) have been protecting the Earth from alien scum for many years, J still does not know much about his gruff partner. However, J soon gets an unexpected chance to find out what makes K tick when an alien criminal called Boris the Animal (Jemaine Clement) escapes, goes back to 1969, and kills K. With the fate of the planet at stake, J goes back in time and teams up with K's younger self (Josh Brolin) to put things right.

K's voice cracking when hes talking to little J always gets me. Josh Brolin killed it as young K
A beautiful end to the MIB trilogy. People whine that it ‘retcons’ the last two movies but if anything it adds a deeper layer to K and J’s relationship. We knew in MIB 1 K had a special interest in J to join MIB and to replace him as an agent. MIB 2 not the best but it shows just how lacking J and K were without each other J feels like he doesn’t have a good partner and K was unfulfilled as a civilian even when married. This movie reveals a lot on K’s side why was he so grumpy what happened to him that changed him from the lively more open young agent J met in the past to the hardened cynic he was in the present? The answer J’s father died protecting him and K owing his life to Colonel Edwards chose to look after his son and be the father J lost because of him. You can even see how different K is in the present when the timeline is fixed at the end jamming to ‘Empire State of Mind’ shows K is more lively again having killed Boris and avenging J’s father rather than letting Boris live and the regret souring him.

There's was no retcon even in the first one when he said he didn't know his dad and k don't speak ill of your old man

Nice, a MIB3 reaction, they are damn rare...
Still one of the tightest and well planned time travel stories around, outside of the Back to the Future movies (and I think MIB3 is tighter than those 3 in alot of places)... and Time Travel stories can go to hell quickly, and so many do. Given its worked around things and ideas that had nothing to do with Time Travel and throw away lines from the 1st movie decades ago etc the writers were on a whole other level and sure put a ton of thought into it.
Still my favorite of the MIB movies.

Nice ending to the third film but I still prefer the first overall because it feels complete.

I remember seeing this opening weekend and I was just sobbing in the theater when they connected all the dots with J’s dad.
Now, Men in Black International Starting Chris Hemsworth (Thor).
Not even close to being as good as these, but still worth a watch 🙂

US Marshall’s is one of those movies where every time I notice it on tv, I stop what I’m doing to watch it.

Lol no he wasn’t. He was 80 years and suffering from alcohol abuse and dementia. He was essentially retired when this was filmed. He was arrested around the same time this movie was made but he never served any time in jail or prison after his initial release.
@@willdallas53 Well the news as it was reported to me was "He went to jail" and when he wasn't in the movie I figured they killed him off because he was in jail which they do for lots of stars in things. Kill them off the show because the stars were immoral.
Please also do watch Marvel movies other than MCU like Blade series, Fantastic four 1&2, GHost rider 1&2, transformers series.
