RIP Biz Makie (1964-2021) he was Will's good friend when was beatboxing with him in the Post office. Respect to Michael Jackson for having enough of a sense of humor about himself to actually do a full cameo in MIB

The subway scene when Jay goes off about how dumb the passengers are was my favourite 😂

Not ashamed to say it, my favorite part is Frank singing in the car.
The timing in the entire scene is comedy perfection.
I love this movie, but my biggest complaint about it is that Serleena is just not as well written as she could've been, which is funny since the original script actually did so much more with her. Her abilities, how she uses them, actually feeling like more of a threat. This Serleena is still great thanks to Lara Flynn Boyle, but they really should've added in more to her character.
Edgar was always going to be a tough act to follow
Michael Jackson's cameo was unexpected in this movie.

Good call on the voice of Joe from Family Guy, that's Patrick Warburton. He also voices Kronk from The Emperor's New Groove and plays the Tick from an older tv show of the same name (that was way before its time). His voice is iconic.

I never forget his voice. He was also from the show Rules of engagement and the film Scream 3 among other things.
My main issue with this movie is that it ruins the happy ending of the first film, revealing K (Tommy Lee Jones) is unhappy in his "regular" life and bringing him back to the MiB, undoing the arc he went through before. And it does it all just for the sake of an underwhelming story. But then PART III is really good and K plays a significant role there, so it makes up for this installment.
I was actually really happy that they broke K back because J and K make such a great team. But, you make an excellent point.
Well they shouldn't have used Laurel from Men in Black to join MiB at the end.

I think Men In Black II is actually my favorite of the series, followed by Men In Black, Men In Black III, and I honestly don't even want to talk about Men In Black: International. I also completely forgot the legend that is the actor who voices Kronk from The Emperor's New Groove is in this!

One of the rumors on why Linda Fiorentino (Laurel from MIB) wasn't in this movie was, apparently, cause she was a rather explosive person, and difficult to work with, to the point where even Tommy Lee Jones himself (who's an absolute sweetheart) couldn't work with her, and asked to get her removed from the movie.
On the other hand, she herself stated that it was scheduling conflict, but people find that one hard to believe, since the movie she chose to be in over MIB 2 was "Liberty Stands Still", which was the only movie she was acting in at the time. So people are assuming that was just her trying to do a wee bit of damage control, and whatnot.

This was Will’s first movie he did after “Ali”. If you pay attention, you notice he slips into the Ali voice a few times, most notably in the diner scene with Patrick Warburton.
Biz Markie is a classic old school rapper.
Anybody else notice how Johnny Knoxville (Scrad/Charlie) just... disappears after "K" gets his memory back? I think they mention his character once or twice, but he's never shown on screen again after that. What? Was he just unavailable for the rest of filming?
@ryan jones Oh ok. that explains it. Still, I wonder if anybody suggested going back and re shooting the scene where he rescues J, so that he gets taken out with all the other aliens.

I enjoy how the TV series 'video' makes an important contribution in this film although we are familiar with the TV series from the first film. Sometimes making a sequel requires clever use of established 'lore'. I myself found this an excellent follow up and wish I felt the same about the rest. MIB was one and done but they got away with this one cleanly. One's personal requirements for entertainment dictate if they find value in further spin-offs and such.

I know I’m in the minority here, but I actually love this movie. Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, Rosario Dawson are all great. I love all 3, and even ‘4’ has it’s moments.

I was so stoked when I saw you posting this and it was truly fun to watch this with you, I am really hoping you watch the third one . Its not the best story but it still a fun movie to watch and it reveals a couple of crazy thing.

"splitting someone's wig" is a hood way of saying you going to hit someone or someone got hit hard enough to crack their skull open. Wig being the hair on the head, not necessarily a wig.

MIB 2 goes off the rails a bit with the wacky humour, dated CGI and product placements etc. but it's alright, I enjoy it. However, don't be fooled - MIB 3 is a damn solid entry and finale, really emotive and a bit less...cartoony.

Sequels do have a hard time catching the same fire as the originals. MIB3 is good. Josh Brolin is wonderful with his character.

Definitely a fun movie, but went noticably more for the comedy (which the director later said wasn't the best choice). The third movie dials it back to a great middle ground, and I'm really excited for that reaction. The movie has a great emotional moment that hits every time. And Josh Brolin is just fantastic in the movie; that performance should be talked about more.

Rosario Dawson, she's in the upcoming haunted mansion movie this July.
The biggest problem with this movie is bringing back Tommy Lee Jones forces it to essentially reset the story progression from the first movie. This is the number issue with sequels is when their story goes backwards instead of forwards.
It's ok with me since it's more of a comedy film.

Roll on the third movie... very few people react to it (hell VERY few people do, not sure why), very much look forward to that reaction, and for me 3 is the best out of the first 3 movies, just nudges out number 1 as the best, but 3 wouldnt work as well as it does without 1 and 2.
I really enjoyed the 3rd one more than the second one.
I'm not saying it because I expect a reaction, but the MiB cartoon series had a long running arc over seasons that made it more interesting than the movies.

Did you notice the little Easter egg in the diner?
After he neuralized T, J (Will Smith) told him "Get married, have a bunch of kids." He then tells the waitress that T likes her on his way out the door. The waitress was Edgar's wife from the original MiB. Tthey told her to go into town and get a makeover, etc.
Then in MIB3, she's the mom who answers the door and you can see several children and lots of child paraphernalia. J (Will Smith) takes the chocolate milk from the kid she is holding, and drinks it.
Also, the actor you commented on, that is the voice of Joe Swanson on Family Guy is Patrick Warburton. He's also the voice of Kronk from Emperor's New Groove. (it'd be criminal if you haven't seen it! 😂)
