- They are the best-kept secret in the universe. Working for a highly funded yet unofficial government agency, Kay (Tommy Lee Jones) and Jay (Will Smith) are the Men in Black, providers of immigration services and regulators of all things alien on Earth. While investigating a series of unregistered close encounters, the MIB agents uncover the deadly plot of an intergalactic terrorist who is on a mission to assassinate two ambassadors from opposing galaxies currently in residence in New York City.

Hi Deasha!🙂They did not expect the success of this film, so that is why we have an unusual ending, with no plans for a sequel at that time. I do agree the film did seem to be lacking something. It's based on a Marvel comic book. It's hard to believe they didn't have sequels in mind while they were filming this.

After I saw this movie when it came out I felt _exactly_ as you did.
It was...fine.
Didn't think it was bad, didnt think it was great. Didn't understand why the people who loved it thought it was so good.
When I compare it to most of the other sci-fi films of the late 90's... _Dark City, Gattaca, The Thirteenth Floor, The Fifth Element, The Matrix, Galaxyquest..._ It is definitely my least favorite.
It's funny though, when KidsWB started running a Men In Black cartoon series, _that's_ when I really got into this franchise. The cartoon was really, really good! It told some really great stories.
When the movie Men In Black II came out...I liked it even less than the first movie.
Then the third movie came out and...it is pretty great! The whole trilogy pays off with that movie.
There is kind of a 4th movie/soft reboot/spin-off...but it's better treating that movie like it just doesnt exist!

When they _made_ this movie, they were hoping it would do well. They were _astounded_ when it made it _all the way_ to number 1 at the box office. They were not initially planning to make sequels, but when they saw _that,_ they reconsidered.
Part 2 falls pretty flat but Part 3 makes up for it. I don't know how _International_ did. I haven't seen that one.

The third film is the best of the franchise and surprisingly very emotional film. Especially at the end.

I totally hated ur reaction to back to the future part 3 cuz it seemed like u didnt pay attention to who the ppl were and u just seemed u idk screamed or did ur little high pitched screech or whatever it was u do
