In this video, I want to give you my bulletproof coffee hack.
    What is bulletproof coffee?
Bulletproof coffee is used when doing keto and intermittent fasting to help you go for a longer period of time without eating. This keto coffee helps because it has fat in it.
    Bulletproof coffee is composed of:
    • Coffee
    • Grass-fed butter
    • MCT oil
Bulletproof coffee is great for keto beginners because it will allow you to go longer without eating. It will also give you ketones which will help you keto-adapt faster.
How to make bulletproof coffee (with my special hack):
    • Coffee
    • MCT oil
    • Xylitol
    • 100% cacao
    Benefits of cacao:
    • Enhances cognitive function
    • Cardiovascular protection
    • Helps your blood sugars
    • Anti-inflammatory
    • Improves mood
What is the difference between cacao and cocoa?
    Cacao:
    • Is less processed
    • It has more phytonutrients
    • It has phenylethylamine (improves focus and attention)
    • It has anti-inflammatory properties
    • It has polyphenols
    1 ounce of cacao:
    Fat: 11g
    Protein: 1g
    Carbs: 6g
    Fiber: 3g
    Cocoa:
    • Is more processed
    1 ounce of cocoa:
    Fat: 35g
    Protein: 25g
    Carbs: 16g
    Fiber: 9g
I recommend 100% cacao for bulletproof coffee on keto. However, you can use other types of non-sugar chocolate as well. You just don’t want to have too much bulletproof coffee at night because it may keep you up.

Hi Dr Berg,i have worked in a Cacao factory,as a welder.Replacing pipe etc.
Raw cacao beans are dried then roasted.Pulverised into a powder, then heated in a press which extracts the butter. Then later they reintroduce the butter to make the chocolate, with varying percentages of cacao to make the chocolate.

I do not eat until 2 or 3 in the afternoon...just one meal a day and It is not a big meal.....I'm never hungry....I used to eat four or five times a day.....I put my body through a lot of stress digesting that much food and most of that food was garbage....I'm 69 now and as they say it is never too late to get healthy....Hope this helps someone....

Ditch the artificial sweetener and try this instead. To your basic recipe add good quality unsweetened cocao powder, cinnamon powder, a pinch of cayenne and a little vanilla extract. Adjust amounts to your own taste, but I'd suggest 1/4-1/2tsp of cinnamon and cocoa powder to start, less cayenne. lol Those come with additional benefits. The vanilla gives you the illusion of sweetness in the drink via smell and taste. I try to balance it so it doesn't overwhelm the coffee, but has a slight chai quality.

I've been using 100% Cacao for months now. Thomas DeLauer got me using that. Instead of MCT oil however I prefer to use coconut oil for the added benefits of Lauric acid(C12) in the coconut oil. I also add a few other ingredients like salt(Redmond Real salt) and Tumeric. And then coconut milk/cream vs heavy whipping cream. No dairy in the morning.
My problem however is it's such a treat for me I probably drink it more than I should. lol

Have to be careful with dark chocolate. Used to be great to eat a square a day for the benefits. Last year a study was done and found dark chocolate has high amounts of lead and cadmium in it. 😢 They tested several different brands and some of the supposedly healthy ones and some organic had the highest amounts. Should only be used in moderation now. This was a complete bummer for me because I love dark chocolate and ate it everyday. 😩
If you Google it you’ll see the report from “Consumer Reports.” Lead and cadmium in dark chocolate.

Now I only use it for long distance bicycling (50 miles or more) I will have a cup of bulletproof coffee (ghee and coconut oil) in the morning 30min before. Never thought of adding Cacao. Will try it out this Sat. During the ride I keep my effort between 40-60% of max with 9-10 1 min intervals. Drink water with a pinch of Himalayan salt in each bottle. After the ride have a cup of coffee black with a scoop of Dr Berg's electrolyte powder and I am good till dinner. Not tired or wiped out like I used to be after long rides.

Organic coffee with coconut cream. Sometimes brewed with oat grass (testosterone), or black tea for flavor. Cacao can be brewed as it mixes better the sooner you add it but heating too high reduces antioxidant benefits. With a french press you can add it after brewing 4 mins and skimming the foam off.

      @@misssrednas Technically yes.
I don't care about my insulin raising a little for a while during multiple-day fasts.
For a long time I tried to do multiple-day pure water fasts, but it was really hard for me no matter how many electrolytes I had and I realized I did a lot better on fat fasts, so on my last multiple-day fasts I had one BPC a day to boost my energy levels and to have something to look forward to every day.
When you are not ingesting food for days, 1-2 tablespoons of butter, a few teaspoons of cacao and some spices a day are just a drop in a bucket.
Does it "break" your fast? Sure, but it's not like starting over. Butter doesn't raise insulin and the carbs in 1-2 tsp raw cacao powder are negligible. And if I have a BPC to hold me over until the next day, I don't care if it takes me 1 hour, 2 hours, or 4 hours to get right back into fasted state, since no matter what I'll still get a considerable number of hours in a fasted state.

If you found this informative, you may also want to know that You may see research out there saying that coffee makes heart and vessel disease (cardiovascular disease) worse because it raises LDL cholesterol, but that’s not the whole story! We now know that LDL particles can either be large and buoyant, or small and dense. When LDL particles are large and buoyant, they can help decrease risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD). And coffee can transition LDL particles from small and dense to large and buoyant, decreasing CVD risk!
