@Mikhail G Iron Man was my favourite Marvel character long before the movies. I'd read a few of my dad's massive American comic collection. And I personally owned one... yes one issue of an Iron Man comic. Also one Spiderman and one Wolverine. I'd also played the Sega Mega Drive Avengers game, where the playable characters are Iron Man, Captain America, Hawkeye and Vision.
No that’s true, though, Tony was more of a serious character before the MCU. He made the occasional quip but usually he was a standard hero. I think the only exception was Ultimate Iron Man
Stark used to be a suave sophisticate in the comics that existed before the MCU, think Clark Gable mixed with Howard Hughes-post MCU he just became an RDJ wannabe.
I bought it. i played it for an hr during the beta. i was left speechless by how gobshite it was. i hoped. i HOPED that the intro, would be the entirety of the game, despite being cringey and a bit wacky, it felt... fun, at the very least. They could of removed the multiplayer elements entirely, focused on the story and beefed it up, and made the game entirely like the very first mission, and it would of been fun. The reason we hardly saw any more of the game up until release other then the first mission was because there is nothing more. the game is completely fucking soulless. there is absolutely nothing fun about a grindy looter shooter, which doesn't know what it wants to be other then a black hole for wallets. I laughed my ass off at the i am iron man pasword scene. i thought it was so cringey and dumb, and within an hr i'd backed out of the game. i wish i could refund it on steam somehow I'm guessing as Whitelight said, the combat gets better with mastery. but it really just wasn't fun for me and i love beat em ups/shooters. god of war or borderlands any day. but by god, everything stuns, and everything takes hits that they shouldn't and everything is a fucking repeat enemy even within the first 2 levels and warzone. Its so disgusting. there is no innovation, and simply to high a dominant strategy of doing a singular combo or action. that or your forced into the "dodge scenario" that whitelight talked about. - You don't make a game only get fun when you've played it enough. a game should be fun from the start, and become more fun with mastery. its clear they added so much stuns, and additional enemies in order to increase difficulty (and the theme of playing a super hero) but it just, doesn't work.
I don't even feel bad that they still haven't made a profit from this game. Even when the game was just announced and in early development, there was already proof of how to make financially successful superhero games. From the Batman Arkham series, and Spiderman PS4 (yes I know that Arkham games like Origins and Knight have mixed reviews. But there's no denying they made A LOT of money. Which at the end of the day is all companies care for). Yet despite all the evidence laid out for companies like this, they still went for a generic live service gimmick with the Avengers logo
Earth's mightiest Heroes made basicly every character likeable, they got every character especially the villains comic accurate and great, there aren't any more comic accurate marvel characters like in EmH:Dr Doom, Ultron, Red Skull, Loki, Kang and many more. They also showed me many villains I didn't knew and love now:Baron Zemo, Abomination, Enchantress, Crimson Dynamo and basicly the entirety of A.I.M. Plus, they made Captain Marvel likeable.

@klaus “Quality games” aren’t dying, they’re simply becoming a little more rare as the big triple A companies have saturated the market with games that attempt to capitalize on popular trends and force monetization practices of all breeds to be implemented to satisfy their greedy hunger for money. Hopefully people will stop falling for these predatory practices and the companies that were once popular will be forced to make a good game yet again to restore any kind of faith in them.

@@BrokenGodEnt I am subscribed to both so it was a moment of confusion to me when the intro started, although Whitelight's voice cadences/reading rhythms are very different.
This was really spot on. I will say both Iron man and Thor felt great but the feel only keeps you on the terrible loot treadmill for so long. I think I made it a month and a half from launch and that was only because I had a couple of friends who also played.
I greatly appreciate you talking about the lack of an art style, because I feel this game is the epitome of the _Marvel brand's current visual homogeny._ There's a compulsion as of late to blur the lines between all media these characters appear in and, as an unapologetic fan of the classic comics, I find it increasingly disturbing. It's almost trying to erase the past. They took the colourful, long-standing character designs and ground them down into uncreative, hyper-practical pap. I don't mind some extra details added to a classic design (e.g. the OG Arkham Asylum batsuit), but these designs ruin the very spirit of the characters. Like you say, *there's no soul.* There's not a hint of Kirby, Byrne or Steranko or any artist that made this universe so appealing. As for the extra outfits, I'm disappointed they didn't just give players costumes relating to the characters' histories. With all the hero worship from Kamala, you'd think they _wouldn't_ embarrassed to do so. Probably would've charged out the wazoo for them, but still. Think of how many people who could have been introduced to *Wolf Cap* or *'90s Thor* or *Joe Fixit Hulk* or *First Appearance Black Widow* or literally any of the *classic Iron Man armours,* straight from the comics. Oh the despair. -____-
They actually had a lot of classic suits in the game...almost. They got close to a bunch of them anyway, but really only Iron Man got suits that looked fairly on point. The "classic" Hawkeye for example was absolutely RUINED when they didn't give him his folded top boots. Instead we got the MCU-esque Kevlar weave looking pants tucked into combat boots. Like....how you gonna have the eyes and the purple and all that...but NOT have the swashbuckly boots too? Sad.
@@DJMarcO138 Exactly - Compromise shows their embarrassment. I say go hard or go home. *Embrace* the comic book costumes or don't bother. It's the same with Cap's head wings and buccaneer boots; the latter works just as well for Hawkeye.
@@DoctorInk20 I understand the point, especially with cap. The lack of commitment for his helm makes it look stupid, it's not practical looking enough to be realistic or classical enough to be fantastical. Instead it's... just a weird looking bit of stuff on his head. This is for both movie cap and game cap, it's all shit. I do like the wide raised collar for his fit though, that's not a bad addition. Or the roomier trousers, but then again female heroes don't get the benefit of getting roomy trousers...
@@fluidthought42 I've never been a big fan of Cap's helmet-mask. It works as a compromise for live-action media, but in any other medium, the classic winged mask can just work, though. It gives Cap a unique silhouette and there's that distance so that you don't have to worry about it looking odd on a real person. The movie costumes have just gotten progressively worse; the _First Avenger_ suit was decent, but every version after is a disaster. I like the USO costume, though. Tweak it a bit, and that's a great live-action classic Cap. I get where you're coming from with the roomier trousers, but part of the whole superhero aesthetic is the form-fitting clothes. Again, it works in something animated, be it male or female. Also "wide, raised collar for his _fit"?_ Could you clarify? 😅
@@DoctorInk20 Roomier trousers are sort of a necessity for stuntwork unless you _fully_ commit to the classic spandex design like Alex Ross. And even then, you might fall into Batman outfit problems (can't turn neck, can't do kicks beyond push kicks etc; there's a reason why Patterson Batman had roomy trousers). As for the fit, I mean overall style. The roomier neck avoids the discontinuity of a form fitting outfit that has no room for your head to go through, and allows the actor to turn his head (so no Keaton Batman for Captain America). Simple small design elements that allow actors to breathe and be comfy while on set in costume, instead of miserable and exhausted.
I remember actually being curious about the game's story until the I Am Iron Man password bit. Once I went, "HAHA, WHAT!?" the immersion faded away. The game's story was just so... Standard.
@@deathlyclaw9046 not really all of those arcade jumping platform games are not for me. It's same as these avengers just boring. Not even the story can save the game.
It could end up similar to how only an handful of MMOs and MOBAs remain viable while the rest die off due to people gravitating to the ones who do their concept well and have large playerbases/communities.

First of all, that Ad break was smooth, nice! And I love how you are playing on PC because there's been so many decrease on players on it but for me it looks good on PC. Now I just want to say thank you for noticing and mentioning the good things about this game because they are just not mentioned behind all the cons of the game. Now I've had fun in the game, I keep playing it even to this day, had it since day 1 and I love it. I believe that this game has a lot of cons is true although I still love it. Simply because it's fun and tbh I enjoy the story, yes it might've clitchés or ridiculous scenes but I like it nonetheless. Perhaps it might be because we've never had an Avengers game and this is what I settled with or maybe because I just enjoy a fun and thrilling ride rather than a meaningful and emotional rollercoaster of a story. I believe the character development is lacking specially on Thor. Both Tony and Bruce were the biggest of the roster and quite frankly I like Kamala she wasn't bad at all. Black Widow needed more love and Cap too but he was death for more than half of the game so yeah. Thor just don't lol Gameplay was amazing as you said with everyone. I have all my characters to the max PL 150 and I enjoy every single one of them. Btw Hulk's the best not Iron Man. In fact Iron man is my least favorite lol Hulk's just destroys everything on his pad and also they patched in an update where Hulk can no longer be staggered by small enemies so he's even more unstoppable now. Black Widow is my second favorite, she's just too good! Her mastery build can be tuned so beautifully and she is so agile and I can basically stay invisible and activate heroics consecutively! Kamala Khan is my third favorite. She's freaking awesome. I love her moveset and she's so strong too! Her attacks really feel that they hit hard and I love her Embiggen Heroic! Cap is my fourth favorite simply because he's shield throwing and kick is perfect for crowd controlling and I just love throwing his shield and fighting with him. Besides he's my favorite Avenger. Thor has what he doesn't have as character development he has as gameplay! I l love playing as Thor by throwing his hammer and his heroics. He really feels like a God! Finally Iron Man being my 6th favorite he has really good attributes and I love changing weapons with him and using them for respective enemies. I personally love his repulsors to do Headshots lol Talking about Bugs and glitches yeah I've experienced my fair share of them but they keep updating the game every week and keep fixing bugs. I personally haven't encountered any bug that will prevent me from playing or to stop playing. They are temporal nuisance that doesn't really get relevant up until the point you restart checkpoint or leave the area. Villains being 2 only yeah that's disappointing and also the endgame lack is also disappointing but they are working on it so it is coming. What really sold me and keeps me from staying and playing is the free DLC coming. At first I thought it was going to be just new characters and some new missions but from what I've seen there's more than just missions so that means the story is going to continue constantly with each DLC adapted to the respective new character. I find it odd you didn't mention the DLC coming I mean you did but just that. I hope this game gets better and better and on the following months we will get more things to do, a story to follow and characters to play as and I hope they don't pull the plug because I am already hyped for Maestro and the future of the game. The gameplay is a very big important factor and they nail it on everyone and so far Kate's Bishop looks unique too. The game will eventually get New game plus so we are going to be able to play the story as our characters fully upgraded and Aim cloning labs which are the equivalent are coming too. I will stay in this game until its last breath because I want it to succeed...
@@1Cent83 Yeah exactly the dedication despite all the negative feedback and bash they keep going and they haven't pull the plug and I hope they don't do it anytime soon. I want this game to last for years. Update on the characters' gameplay. By the time I wrote this comment Kate and Clint weren't released and my point still stands they both have uniqueness even though they are both archers they both play significantly different and I love it. In fact they are my 2nd and 3rd favorite characters. Clint is second and Kate is third. I can't wait to play Black Panther tomorrow! His gameplay looks so unique than all the other characters and awesome!
Agreed man i just feel really bad for the developers who worked their asses off only to receive blinded trashtalk whom half of the culprits had not even played the game.

I get really tired of it quickly. He's been the voice of Thor in too many projects and it completely removes the humanity from him. The big chest voice Mighty God shit is so tiresome now after hearing it in over and over in animated series and the Lego games and it's down to the developers being completely out of touch with the character and just shoving the same Shakespearean cadence at him from an actor with a naturally Baritone voice that always sounds fake
I recently got the definitive edition of this game(although its already delisted almost everywhere). While i was playing it with a friend, the whole time, i was enjoying it a lot. The combat had a lot of depth to it, from combos to juggles to spikes. It was amazing and it has been such a long time since i played a game with this type of engaging combat. Althought as mentioned in this video, the prompts and the chaos can sometimes make you unfocused on attacks coming your way, the fun still trumped all that. That said, i remembered when this game was released, during its first and second year it got such a bad reputation from reviewers, and thats why i didn't buy it at first. But now, playing it, it really makes me question how credible those reviewers actually are and how in-depth did they actually go, playing this amazing game. And that is why, i really really appreciate and love your review. Not because it aligns with what i feel towards the game, but because you actually played it in-depth, and i can see that. You are a TRUE reviewer of a game. And i want to say thank you so much Thank you for not just skimping through the game like other reviewers and just blatantly review bombing it without playing it properly. It is such a shame that a great game such as this was review bombed to death by youtubers and game critics that played this game half-heartedly and just followed the crowd's opinion. And the crowd itself that didn't give this game a chance. I really wish the developers of this game or any other developers are not disheartened and discouraged from making another similar game such as this. And i really wish developers make a similar game as this, not necessarily from the same franchise. Thank you so much for such an honest review and giving your OWN thoughts in this. I respect you so much for that and i will surely watch your videos for reviews on upcoming or older games when i have to make a decision on buying one because i know for sure that you are reliable. I encourage gamers to do the same as well. Thank you once more.

I laughed my ass off at the i am iron man pasword scene. i thought it was so cringey and dumb, and within an hr i'd backed out of the game. i wish i could refund it on steam somehow
I'm guessing as Whitelight said, the combat gets better with mastery. but it really just wasn't fun for me and i love beat em ups/shooters. god of war or borderlands any day. but by god, everything stuns, and everything takes hits that they shouldn't and everything is a fucking repeat enemy even within the first 2 levels and warzone.
This game. When you wanted Earth's Mightiest and you get Avengers Assemble instead. 'Nuff said.
That is the best analogy of this situation.
Earths mightiest heroes is a hidddn gem
Still prefer Earth's mightiest heroes over Avengers Assemble
Earth's mightiest Heroes made basicly every character likeable, they got every character especially the villains comic accurate and great, there aren't any more comic accurate marvel characters like in EmH:Dr Doom, Ultron, Red Skull, Loki, Kang and many more. They also showed me many villains I didn't knew and love now:Baron Zemo, Abomination, Enchantress, Crimson Dynamo and basicly the entirety of A.I.M. Plus, they made Captain Marvel likeable.
It's like when you want Teen Titans, but instead you only get Teen Titans Go.

Marvel's Avengers was the one time everyone knew that a game had about as much passion put into it as a slice of Tescos bread
Come on man tesco bread is great

@@DoctorInk20
I understand the point, especially with cap.
@@DoctorInk20
Roomier trousers are sort of a necessity for stuntwork unless you _fully_ commit to the classic spandex design like Alex Ross.

Thor just don't lol
Gameplay was amazing as you said with everyone. I personally love his repulsors to do Headshots lol
Talking about Bugs and glitches yeah I've experienced my fair share of them but they keep updating the game every week and keep fixing bugs.

In fact they are my 2nd and 3rd favorite characters. Clint is second and Kate is third. I can't wait to play Black Panther tomorrow! His gameplay looks so unique than all the other characters and awesome!

It's a shame. I genuinely loved Travis Willingham's portrayal of Thor, and he's only in the story for a brief moment.
And i want to say thank you so much
Thank you for not just skimping through the game like other reviewers and just blatantly review bombing it without playing it properly.

HOLY SHIT I was NOT expecting that dunk. Nice
The second one was a dunk on myself.
@@Whitelight You mean the 7 hour Death stranding review wasn't a MauLer parody?
@@Whitelight At least death stranding takes longer than 7 hours to play yourself so your critique of it actually saves time, unlike a 4 part 15hr length critique of a 2hr mediocre film.
The key diff is whitelight is 2h+ after editing. Mauler is 2h+ because he doesn’t.

I thought this was gonna be about the films, didn't even realise there was a game...
ALRIGHT, he gets a like just based off how he put Squarespace in. Damn good transition
This game really is "Ms. Marvel and the Avengers"
That sounds like a good game, but this game ended up being a Destiny clone with Melee and a story that’s part climate change denial and part Joe Biden propaganda
@@TheFlash-rh2el that's an odd combo
Cool idea.. Just rushed
The campaign is like this, but the mp is completely different
@@TheFlash-rh2el joe biden propaganda😭 what are you on
That Squarespace transition was so smooth that I don't even mind. Nice job!

@@henrycrabs3497 I’m sorry you feel that way
I have to say, I think you make the best written reviews of all time.
This is pretty much destined to be the Anthem of 2020.
Ironically Iron Man was what stopped me playing this game. Way too clunky trying to weave between hovering/flying and melee/ranged. It frustrated me too much. He was the worst tbh
thats weird iron man is like, the only one I liked personally. i thought everyone else was too clunky
38 minutes? This will be fun!
