I love your approach to the capsule wardrobe. I can't imagine a wardrobe of just neutrals. Color is fun, expressive, and can really boost your mood and show off your personality. I always get inspiration from your wardrobes! I appreciate the effort you put into curating them for our benefit!

Absolutely LOVED this video! TH-cam is full of white shirt/black pants/black blazer/trenchcoat/stripe shirt formulas. This was wonderful - I so enjoyed it!!!!!!!

Fantastic video Maria. Interesting demonstration of your approach. Such a relief to not hear the same old same old white shirt black trousers formula.

I completely agree with you on the "capsule wardrobe concept"! It's become very regimented and plain, which may be perfect for some, but I really like a bit of color and some print! I agree that does make it easier to make outfits with a bit of drama and personality! Loved this video ❤❤❤!

I also love prints. I just don’t understand how they got to be such big No - Nos to so many fashionistas recently. They add so much interest to my outfits, I just have to have some, especially classic ones. I do buy mostly solid colors, but often add a printed silk scarf if there is no other pattern in my outfit, I love them.

Thanks for another great video Maria and reminder of not getting caught up with others ideas of what we should wear. It’s easy to look at clothing on others who may be a completely different body shape or colouring and think you should buy those clothes. Much better to understand what suits you, your current lifestyle and build slowly. Pattern can be your friend as it creates the gateway to other colours. 😘

Thank you so much for this lovely video and your excellent blueprint course. I'm only part way through, but the exercises and charts have given me some quite major revelations already. Best of all, you keep reinforcing that it's OK to be an individual, possibly quite a long way off the beaten track. I needed to hear that.

Seeing your examples at the end of the video really helped me see how colour and pattern are incorporated into a so-called capsule wardrobe. The neutrals are there but they aren't boring, as that's not all that's there. Thanks.

Really useful explanation of how to build a capsule wardrobe with favourite colours included. Neutrals don't suit me and I'd given up trying to achieve a capsule wardrobe at all. I think the muted pinks would work well for me as my complexion has lightened and my hair is now a mix of light and dark grey.

I think the “capsule” is basic pieces in your colour palettes’ neutrals; tanks, tees, button downs, pants, skirt, etc. I could not live with a wardrobe without statement pieces that bring the interest and eliminates the boring minimal look. Whether it’s prints, design details, unique fabrics or silhouette, I wear several different “aesthetics”, depending on the occasion! Thanks for your video bringing in colour!❤

I so agree! Those capsule wardrobes always include faded blue and black jeans, black leather moto jackets, black footwear and bags, slip dresses, deep cut tanks and camis, denim skirts and shorts, oversized shirts and other items, etc. I won’t ever wear any of that and I need to wear a conventional, strapped, bra, for one thing. I hate black, denim in anything, and tough or edgy style, as in those moto jackets with all that hardware, and anything too tight or oversized. I don’t do sexy, either, I do classy. But, I don’t want to cover my tummy, butt and hips, either. Silhouettes change, but I always prefer comfortably fitted clothes, no corset tops or waistless dresses.

Another great video. I have always created my wardrobe/closet this way but in recent years have been influenced by those neutral capsule wardrobes but find they don't work for me as I like a bit of colour in my life! Thank you once again for sharing your thoughts and wardrobe with us.

I totally agree; a little bit of colour adds so much more to your wardrobe. When I started looking online for 'capsule wardrobe' a long time ago, all that came up were the neutral capsule wardrobes and I found them quite boring. I love your approach and I'm putting it into practice when packing for my holiday in Scotland. Thank you so much for another great video!

I’ve tried looking for a capsule wardrobe but as I hate buttons, shirts, denim jackets, trench coats, white, boring neutral colours etc it’s never going to work for me. Love colours especially red, yellow etc. so my wardrobe tends to be black trousers with a bright coloured top but even that can be a bit boring as nothing stylish in there. Plus I hate shopping so all in all not a very good start so listening to you is very interesting.

I absolutely love watching your videos and I love seeing what you did with the neutrals by bringing in some color and making so many beautiful outfits. The only thing that surprised me a little was the pink and burgundy colors for you as I see so much warm in you

Thank you so much! I do have a warm skin tone but this pink isn’t very cool and the burgundy works because of my dark eyes 👍

Thanks for this, I don’t want a capsule wardrobe! I already have pretty tight style, fabric/material, fit and color parameters for my wardrobe. Within that, I want a great selection and variety, I would so hate to be limited to just a few items. I love my big, high-quality wardrobe, every item has been carefully curated and is as timeless as possible. I don’t buy much these days, just those perfect, high-quality, pieces that keep my look up to date and are within my parameters. The most important thing to me is buying only natural-fiber fabrics (plus the manmade cellulosics), and genuine leather shoes and accessories. I just never consider any item in a plastic (even a small percentage in a blend), they just aren’t wearable and have no value to me, however “cute”. I just bought a “silk” knit top from Lily Silk, but am miserable in it - it turns out to have 20% nylon, which I never expected from a silk-specialty brand. That’s one reason I love your channel, you buy only the best, as do I. (I’m not talking about designer logos, which I avoid). I’m 63, San Francisco.

So helpful to watch you expand the wardrobe piece by piece, and explain your reasoning. Just curious.. why would you not wear the choc silky skirt with burgundy blouse? Is that a texture thing ? Or shape?

    • @Mariafsadler
      @Mariafsadler  ปีที่แล้ว

I think actually I will try it as a more casual outfit, but yes it’s the two textures. Although I think I will wear it as a jacket with a little vest too 😊
