Thanks Erica. Your advice is so practical. I used to think basics were boring and didn’t spend time and money to find the good quality ones. But I was wrong. Good quality ones are so much better, make me feel good and want to wear them different ways. They are truly versatile!
What I gravitate towards is: straight/slim/skinny mid to dark blue denim, black Frame Le Mini Boot style, black velvet skinny trousers, slightly wide black trousers, black long sleeve tees, a red and white Breton, cable knits, cashmere, statement knits, black coats and my red wool crepe coat for a pop of colour. I love mini skirts and shift dresses. I am interested in details, quality, linings, buttons and texture. I think it’s fascinating what we are all drawn towards 😊.
Thanks Erika, I love this video =) what's funny is that almost all retailers sale 90% of statement pieces! thanks to you I got that, now I know I don't need that many statement pieces, I actually need more basics! In fact I'm finding my liking for basic pieces so i can build more outfits and more stylish ones, even in a casual style. I'm plus size, so in my country is pretty difficult to find clothes, that's why I actually buy anything I can fit in, so I couldn`t build a style for myself, but now, I`m starting to understand that I don´t need a lot of pieces, but the right ones instead to start to build my own personal style. Your content has been pretty helpful so, thanks!!

I love the emphases placed upon us all having the same basics in our wardrobes expressed through different clothing styles.
Amazing breakdown, you’re a great teacher.
Thanks so much!

Thanks so much for your comment! I used to be the same way and then always wondered why I had such a hard time putting outfits together.

Thanks Naomi! 😊
Cool guide!
Thank you!
My biggest problem is that I'm drawn to dressier pieces and my life now at 75 is extremely casual! 90% of my life is at home!!
Maybe you can find other ways to bring in those dressier elements through your accessories and fabric choices.
