As somebody who has worked for Walmart in both entree level and lower level management, they definitely DO NOT fire people based on race. It takes an awful, awful lot for them to terminate you.
Really, I’ve seen people literally do nothing for 10 hours straight and on their phone, and for days/weeks at a time, and still people had their job.
I watched a guy hit an industrial shelving rack (at the import distribution center) with a forklift. Significant loss of value on many levels. As supervisor, I had to report what I had seen, if I didn’t the cameras would have told the story instead and then I would have been tossed. A case of complete negligence, and really he should have been drug tested and fired. He claimed racism because I’m white and he was black. Not even a write up.
I hate communist Walmart, but really they were seriously afraid of being considered racist in the slightest. Plus they pay significantly more than Amazon.
Any job will be affected if the boss sees this. Recording conversations, posting stuff on social media, you cannot trust an employee who goes public like this. She wouldn't handle being fired from a job with class either.
I've quit my job via full fledged fight with my boss after he tried having me kneel on the floor to inspect streaks the mop left behind after the cheap linoleum they bought dried and started screaming when I refused. Know where your line is and never go down alone if you can help it.

I Have quit at least 4 jobs in such a manner, One occasion i even told the regional manager at my Castrol Monthly review meeting that he was a stupid fucking see you next Tuesday kind of guy and that i wasn't willing to stand there and get chewed out for senior management choices that were affecting the whole team and ultimately the contract. People need to realise that sure there will be somebody willing to replace you when you are no longer there, but you are not beholden to these companies, they will never pay enough money to put up with stress and abuse that flows from management, customers and colleagues. Too many people suffer in silence and live shitty miserable lives to make some asshole somewhere just that little bit more wealthy. If all McDonalds workers walked out together in unity then the company would have no choice but to pay you a living wage which in my opinion for the U.S.A right now would be in the region of 18 dollars an hour minimum. Don't accept zero hour contracts they are bullshit they serve nobody but the employer. WE THE PEOPLE make everything work not the small number of management or CEO's you know the types work 15 hours a week for 450k a year. They want me to believe that they are worth more than the guy who fixes the machines so the operation continues?? Fucking madness.

as a woman around the same age as her that also works cap2 I can't blame her, also you'd be surprised how much walmart is willing to overlook in the hiring process. at my store it wouldn't surprise me if someone did this and then got rehired again like a year later

in my opinion, yes, back up plans are nice to have. yet i have worked at places where i got treated like shit and was confronted with racism, female co-workers got sexually harrassed and the managers were creepy pieces of absolute human trash and i get her and her frustration. there have been points where i would've loved to snap like this, i respect her for calling out the perverts, racists and stuff like that, cause you can tell, even by a lot of the people in these comments, shit like that is still not taken serious enough.
There were ways to do this without blacklisting yourself from every potential retail job. Don't curse, state the actions of the ones you're calling perverts, call them out on provable facts, THEN mic drop. And don't record your face in the video. Bada bing bada boom, badass without consequence.

When I was working at AC Moore in college I worked with a kid who did this exact thing in the middle of a busy Saturday morning (If you are familiar with the store you know it is usually packed with older women on Sat morning who are in there getting their yarns and crafts etc). It was funny as hell but never something I would do.

It is career ending I had really shitty management before I had to deal with and I just put in 2 weeks left and got references from some of the great people I worked with don’t burn bridges better long run.

Yeah I quit from my first job a good while ago. As much as I hated working there and how bad the management was I just put in the 2 weeks before leaving. As cool as it'd be to go out like this lady did and as much as I respect her confidence to do it, her action was highly unprofessional and the long-term results will definitely not be worth for what she did.

Speaking as a costomer service vet, there are some jobs that are so deparate nfor staff they don't even CALL any of your reffrences or check on your background. The catch 22 is that most of them involve mass amounts of strangers treating you like a dumping ground for thier emotional baggage. The clames this woman made are likely true, but the job is so miserable they can't afford to fire the people called out because they shoplift less than most and put up with shit costumers with less ovious signs of damage.
She will get hired again. There is no such thing as career over in this country. I got hired back to the same place 4 times after being fired for walking out without warning. They hire people that are fresh out of prison for god sake.

Just don't show back up for work if it's that bad. worked for Walmart for 3 years and had no problems with anyone. I always put in 2 weeks when it's time to leave. Gonna do the same next month with my current employer almost everyone is like family there but I'm sick of the forklift driving life and will aim to relax stacking apples in a fully air-conditioned produce dept. at the Walmart, I formally worked at.

I'm actually a guy who enjoys some dark humor, and I also am very patient. Someone could literally walk up to me and scream every racist thing in my face, and I'd probably laugh. But the shit I've seen in retail as I work there is next level. The shit people come up with, including employees, is insane. People say overly explicit stuff to women and sometimes extremely racist stuff to minorities all the time. Places like Walmart pretty much only hire people they know are expendable and they can pull a record to show how "bad" of a person they were to justify their actions.
The only reason I kind of disagree with the perverts one is because she said “would you talk to your daughters the way you talk to me” - you can’t make up that kind of statement unless it’s coming from some personal experience

I started Aug 10, I straight up tell them this job is the easiest money I’ve ever made in my 47 years of life🤣 plus I have alot of unemployment from covid saved up so whatever, some managers “try” to be d bags but I overlook it personally, then you have the “snake pit” (workers who at all the breaks during night shift stand in front of the doors to talk mostly shit about everyone else) that I see since starting while I go to my car to smoke and eat and just take my breaks. People always complaining but I continually repeat this job is a joke and easy money, if you think negatively then life will be negative, I refuse to do so, I smile and say hey how ya doing to every single one of them and continue living my life as positively as I can. I will not allow someone else to steal my sunshine even in the dead of night🤣🤘

Oh no I can't go buy from a multi billion dollar company that treats their workers like shit and pays them minimum wage what will I ever do? Even amazon who overworks their workers get payed 15 to 25 per hour you'd be lucky to get 10 at Walmart. Go to Costco or target, its a completely different vibe.

As a manager in retail myself, I can definitely assure you they more than likely will not care. It's retail- not a government/professional job, and most managers definitely do not care enough nor feel the need to look at applicants' social media pages. Retail is desperate for bodies.

Seeing the title and screenshot I thought this was going to be a video about how she was an asshole but no, she tried to voice her frustrations against people discriminating her or being perverted as hell and she's- like you said- sadly probably ruined her chances of finding another job if target sees this and says "nevermind" because they don't want that same thing happening at one of their own stores. It's depressing, but that's life at a lot of these companies.
All she did was accusations. No evidence or proof. Just words. People can lie and accuse every other person for something when infact they're the problem. I've seen it happen so many times that I don't even bat an eye. even if its true, lemme give her the benefit of doubt. Do you seriously think she did anything? She didn't do anything at all. It all came out as someone talking over the mic. This is not a movie, its reality and reality tackles issues differently than in movies
