So I ask of you to kindly save your comment about how much you think bo3 is good, or how it changed zombies, or how it ended world hunger. Thank you.
You can't make the massive generalization that no other cod game's zombies will ever be like black ops 2 zombies, then back track in the comments and say you shouldn't compare black ops 2 zombies to black ops 3 zombies because it is as equally worth appreciation as any other game. Black ops 3 zombies is EVERY zombies game if you account for the very much alive and thriving modding scene. If we're talking without mods, it is still on an equal level of quality at LEAST. If you meant overall difference from other games with the title, the point still stands. Hence why people keep bringing up bo3, cause it can literally be everything bo2 is through mods. Your video makes a lot of good points about black ops 2 zombies and its quality. I can't disagree with many of the points you make, but you just listed why bo3 zombies is good and thats it. Nothing about how no other game will be like bo2. Edit: Jumped the gun there earlier due to youtube auto-deleting my comment for using what it deems as a naughty word... my point still stands though.
@@brolaire8851 in my intro, I clarified why the video was titled this way, which was the unique approach this game took and how the devs dealt with it's initial criticism at release. The title had nothing to do with the quality of the game. I even say that the game isn't my favorite in the series, so I still stand by the decision to title this way. I made the comment to stop any comments related to black ops 3's greatness how it's the best thing to grace human civilization, as I never claimed in the video that bo2 was the best game in terms of zombies. what was my terrible mistake is that in this pinned comment, I was implying that it was about the game's greatness. that was because I made the comment haphazardly without giving it any thought. I'll still leave the comment to remind myself to actually think about what I'm saying first.
I really wish they made more maps in the style of the victis maps/nuketown. Cracked tectonic plates, all the debris shit in the atmosphere blocking the sun, destroyed cityscapes, prior signs of battles against the undead, it’s truly an amazing setting and style for a zombies map.

Lex is right, with the lack of zombies new official content since vanguard, the amount of new retrospectives, challenges and new videos on zombies by "new" and small chanels is amazing, and I'm enjoying every second of it!
But why the fuck did they have to be a thing. Why couldn’t it just be oh, buy another door or something nah dude, let the randoms screw like 6 games out of 7 for like taking the jetgun parts and dying in the pit at power or turning the power on and off again and again
I have been watching a silly amount of zombies content recently and I’m glad someone finally addressed even in passing how fucking weird it is that “Leroy” is a character. Being disabled is so fun
Tranzit’s biggest flaw is that it was too ambitious for its time, even if it was fundamental for building what would become. Tranzit’s the kind of map that would benefit from a Remaster the most, because it could be redesigned with more advanced design philosophies in mind. If the lessons have been learned, why not apply them where they weren’t before?
Did you know early on in Tranzit's development, the bus tires could go flat and you'd have to repair them, there was a departure timer, gas, potential for ambushes in every other location, in addition to 3 extra survival locations in cornfield, power, and tunnel.
I heard about alot of this cut content. It’s really interesting the vision they planned for tranzit. It’s a shame they got the development time or the console power they needed
Power Station would be Power Factory (that means it would be A LOT bigger than Power Station) and the only other cut location I know of is Motel. I'm not sure what the third location would be.
@@zestymoon think its just purely nostalgia. i love it bc i have good memories and it was my first zombies, but i think id hate it if it was released now
Wanted to commend you for the hours you poured into creating this behemoth of a retrospective. I felt your critiques were fair and well articulated. I will say that your Die Rise over Mob of the Dead take was scorching hot, not one I’m on board with. Overall, excellent work man 💯
BO2 had that atmosphere that is unmatched, the settings of zombies has that "conspiracy" coming to life. BO1 had a lot of cold war conspiracies coming to life in zombies, and BO2 kept a good amount of that in Tranzit (a seemingly normal town that holds a Top Secret Government Project), Die Rise (Sky rises that has evidence of elemental manipulation in the aether to control the zombies [Spheres]) MOTD (cmon, it's alcatraz and zombies), and Buried (Western town buried deep within). ORIGINS stands out to be the one that changes everything story wise due to the alternative universe shenanigans.
Only one I disagree with it Mob despite it still being fun. Mob is basically its own separate thing from all the rest. But it makes sense that Mob and Origins don't follow this pattern since they had different a creator than all the previous maps in the series by that point
Black Ops II zombies felt like Treyarch was giving me the middle finger for being a casual player. Black Ops had it's fair share of tedium, but this game's maps were just downright bewildering unless you invested time into watching guides on how to figure out the gimmick of the day and where the dozens of items were. Mob of the Dead and Origins were the only maps I really bothered spending any amount of time on, but even then I'd go back to WaW or Black Ops since most of the content on those maps doesn't require doing ten steps of a ritual, then sacrificing your firstborn child to Moloch just to access.
This is a very understandable perspective. The game outright requires looking up guides to access some of the main map’s content, which can be a major turnoff due to it coming off as gatekeeping.
I think only investing time in mob and origins might have affected your thoughts here, because when I think of a game like you describe, I think of everything BO3 and beyond. I agree that mob and origins are pretty tedious sometimes and require a guide, but you don't really have to do anything *too* complicated in Tranzit, Die Rise, or Buried to turn on power or get pack imo. Its generally just opening a few doors. It can get *weird*, sure, like having Leroy charge at doors with booze, waiting for elevators, or leaving a turbine in the power room to open the pack a punch room (yeah this one is kinda dumb), but those were simple enough that my friends and I found them all out by ourselves in 2012/2013. Meanwhile, we still need to dual wield youtube guides to find out how to get the hell's redeemer in mob, or how to upgrade all the staffs in origins.
Right there with you. Most of my friends didn't even bother buying it as a consequence back in the day. After tranzit and die rise, the prevailing thought was why invest $40+ when we're way more likely to go back and end up playing black ops 1 anyway? Mob, origins, and occasionally buried ended up becoming just occasional gimmicks for sleepovers at certain people's houses: nothing more.
There is beauty in simplicity but I think the more effort they put into the game the more fun and options there are for a better more fun experience definitely with friends yk
I actually love Die Rise's map design and transportation methods. To me, it forces to both improvise and think ahead in a way that is different from other maps, and it brings challenge. If you to think if you're going to go to the next area as you will then need to go around the entire map to get back, and it also makes it so that the players will need to stick together more so than in other maps, as if they go down in a previous area then there is no hope for them.
I loved Tranzit myself, I didn't mind the way the bus worked and how you had to set up the pack a punch. Yeah the fan getting destroyed and the room closer was annoying but me and my friends had so much fun on that map. Side note you forgot to add that if you don't put the roof rack on the bus you can put it in the diner to get on the roof and there are Galva Knuckles up there. Now that's a map that could do with a remaster and maybe change a few things to improve player satisfaction whilst they are doing it.
Origins still the best map of all time for me, it's the 1 map where you have to be at the top of your game mentally the entire time AND there's a payoff.... (the not taking the drone with you, payoff) & doing that successfully & getting good at it has been by far the best zombies experience i've ever had as a mainly solo player 😊
The fire staff is a actually infinite damage and can kill as many as the ice staff, but the reason its been disregarded is because after a certain round it crashes your game.
@@oisinkelly4604 upgraded fire staff is infinite on bo2 not bo3 but on round 40+ it would crash your game. On bo3 its not infinite damage and doesn’t crash the game just loses its effectiveness high round 50s, also it just still isnt as good as the other two staffs even if it was infinite damage its way of dealing it wouldn’t of been good enough
Alright, just finished! Amazing analysis, really surprised with your ranking but totally makes sense. BO2 is a game i constantly flip around on, as everything good about it also brings about so many many negatives at the same time. I will say, i think Buried has grown on me a severe amount, and i think id be confident saying its the best map here, purely as it has the most fun high rounds. Tranzit high rounds suck, survival map high rounds are impossible, die rise is pretty cool but can get a little boring, Mob is fun but sooo slow as youre relying solely on traps and redeemer, and origins has way too much that can go wrong, and relying on max ammos are a nightmare. The resonator strat in jug is one of my fave high round strats of all time, so it surpasses the rest on that alone, as early game only counts towards such a small portion of the time spent on the map for me. Anyway, adored the video, and so happy youve been diving into super long form analysis content
I just realised thad mid rounds don't really exist in buried, you can get completly setup in a round or 2 so you are already in "later rounds" at that point.
I remember playing with my brother as a kid, I miss him a lot recently as he’s in college. Those memories with him are memories I will forever hold dear to me.
I agree on the perk variety on mob. It's strange they didn't throw in the rest of the staple perks, phd would've been great on this map since it's so close quarters. One thing I've wondered is what if they swapped tombstone on die rise with who's who on tranzit. I feel like this wouldn've worked much better since the needs of each perk doesn't work on their respective maps.
It absolutely would’ve worked much better. I wish I realized it early before uploading the video because this is something that’s definitely worth mentioning
BO2 was my favorite game. Me and many others are debating with ourselves to buy a ps3 just to play it. I really miss it I’m glad theres people who are like me and going back to cod bo2 like i am.
Best option is to either get a PC or an Xbox One or Xbox Series X to play it in a better way with backwards compatibility. PS3 would be the worst way to play it.
I remember when Bo2 and played these maps for the first time and had alot of fun with some more than others personally but was excited with each other map to see what they add next weapons perks wonder weapons and more story etc i found out alot in this video after many years now thank you for breaking it all down and learning so much thank you man :) Black Ops 2 is one of my favorite games of all time and Gem even with some of its flaws.
I want an official Black Ops 2 remake/remaster so I have a reason to go back to this game. Those were the good old days. I played this game soooo much. And I loved it.
I didn’t expect to watch the whole vid in one sitting, great stuff👍🏼 I also found out recently after 10+ years that if you crouch 3-4 times in one of the broken bus seats on Tranzit the bus immediately moves. The map still sucks but it made it a little more fun with friends
I’m glad you sat through all of it and enjoyed it man. And as they say, pretty much anything is good with friends, even if it’s something as horrific as tranzit
You made me rethink about my hatred for die rise after all these years of not playing it basically since 2013. One day I’ll give it another try and get the boys to join in with me
This has to be one of the best COD Zombies video I've ever watched. Lots of insights for each map, listing the pros and cons and telling the story behind their development process as a whole. Keep it up, you deserve more subs!
Man, I came here because Zestymoon let me know that he had some reviews up on his channel when I was watching a John Rizzo Stream. I am thankful that he let me know because this is so well put together, and such a good video. Congrats to you man ❤
I was playing die rise while watching this. You have no idea how much i was smiling as i heard you say "the sliquifier is one of my favorite wonder weapons" whilst i was playing die rise round 47, got stuck in a corner, and saved myself by spamming a full mag of sliq shots and didn't even go red
My opinion on fixing Tranzit is that all the traps you build and pickup are in your inventory forever. Once they break they need time to recharge then u can place them again. Secondly I’d either label that door that u need to unlock pap at say that it unlocks pap or remove it all together. Third is that I’d make the jet gun like the paralyzer and that u can carry as many parts you want like in Mob of the dead.

Hiya, just wanted to pop in and say thank you for making this analysis! I've seen a lot of commentary videos on zombies as a whole and I have to say this is my new favorite. Fantastic editing, full of useful information, and a great script to boot. I hope you consider analysing other cod titles, I'm sure a lot of people would love that. I know I would! ❤
Rewatching this in prep for the BO1 video being released today and realized I never commented on it. Fantastic video! While I love Mob of the Dead to death, the fact you have to gather all of the fuel every time you wanna pack a punch is very annoying. Also I get Treyarch like to be little trolls from time to time but it's kinda annoying Mule Kick is teased outside of the map by the docks. I don't normally get Mule Kick ever but like you said, it'd add variety to the map's perks. Plus with the amount of map unique weapons on the map it'd be cool to be able to use as many of them as possible in one go. Anyways great video as always!
I love how you say that you’re preparing for the bo1 video like it’s a long awaited movie lmao. It genuinely feels awesome that some people view my channel in this way
First off, great work! (Commenting for that sweet algorithm) It was a great watch and I really enjoyed your placement of Die Rise. I love Die Rise, the visuals, the radio lore, a very underrated map. Mob is great co-op but so annoying solo that I just don't play it anymore. One point I would to add is grief which I don't think you covered, so I will! Grief was a fun 4 v 4 survival mode on edited versions of some maps or the exact same for the Tranzit survival maps. here is a quick ranking for a mode I loved and wish would comeback 4. Town. While a great four player map, it is overall pretty meh for Grief. 3. Farm. This map is better than town because it's so small and utter chaos the longer it goes on. Fun for quick hour games. 2. Cell Block. This map actually has phd when normal mob doesn't and no plane pack! Making it more fun and better paced. No jugg makes this map especially fun and tense because one wrong move is a down. 1. Borough. Buried but no witches? This is a condensed buried with an easier pack but no ripsaw (All the other fun traps though). This one can last a lot longer than the other maps because survival on buried is already easy, but it's still amazing. It's a shame Die Rise and Origins never got this mode or survival maps in general. I think survival maps were an amazing feature and it is a crying shame only this game and WW2 ever did them again. BO3 especially could have used simplified maps and pack. Maybe one day.....
I didn’t comment on turned or grief mainly because trying to get gameplay for them was impossible. I barely had anyone to play with, so getting 7 other pc players who own bo2 would’ve put me in a mental asylum. But other than that, I’m glad you enjoyed the video
@@blauwbeer556 both of these reasons were a factor. I want to make it its own video when I manage to accumulate enough people to play with. Now unfortunately that’s impossible.
If I had to take a guess, the developers had a problem with Whos Who in a couple of different ways. - Going down cannot be a direct upgrade to not going down, or players will abuse it. -Ghost spawns with the default loadout. -Players must be able to find ways to save themselves without being unfairly punished more than going down already is. -Points spent are refunded on revive. In addition, more Wall Weapons have been added, in multiple locations so that most players are never far from some kind of weapon or equipment. -Alternative revive mechanics should still be accesible to all players. -Teammate revives, Ballistic Knife, Solo Quick Revive on Bleedout. I think the problem with Whos Whos spawning system is that the ghist spawn just used default player spawn logic. Which in most maps would be fine, but in Die Rise was not. A pretty notorious bug I remember with Whos Who was where the perk would occasionally use ZOMBIE spawn logic, spawning player ghosts falling out of ceiling holes if you were lucky, and behind zombie barricades if you were not.
@@zestymoonBlundell was consistently bland and pretentious. It was all style, production value and self-aggrandizement… very little substance or spirit
I’m a big fan of zesty moons, Content I like how he always talks about the zombies in a very casual way while still being very insightful and funny as well. I’m still laughing at the rainbow water joke from the b03 retrospective.
1:02:49 I don't know if it was done on purpose but when the loop starts again it does the first purchase animation of the weapons bad for the gameplay but a really thoughtful detail for the story.
Honestly I find BO2 zombies more fun to play than BO3 sometimes, for pretty much all the reasons listed in this video. Although, my opinion could be heavily influenced by nostalgia since BO2 was the first and only zombies game I ever played until I bought BO3 this year. Also I have basically zero experience on MOTD or Origins so as for my thoughts on the other four: - TranZit is fun with a full lobby of players, but boring, lonely and tedious on solo - Die Rise is frustrating sometimes but under-appreciated - Buried is, like you said, basically a sandbox - Nuketown is pretty cool I guess lol (fun to play on Plutonium servers with a lobby of 8 people!) Very cool video by the way, always love seeing small TH-camrs make masterpieces
I always hated the power station on tranzit. By the time i got into the second room, the bus was beginning to leave and i had to rush back to it, or risk going through the fog.
Honestly. The more I play black ops 2 because I can’t play bo3 and bo4 zombies safely. The more I like transit. Especially with plutonium and the options on a bunch of servers to get rid of the fog? Transit is actually really fun.
For Tranzit, all you need is to just have control over the bus, and give some buffs to the Jet Gun. For the bus, there should be a button inside that can set it in either transport mode where its on its timer or deactivated where the bus shuts down until activated again, taking maybe 10-15 seconds to start back up before being ready to take off. Another way to make it better would be to allow it to have Bus Route B where it goes in a reverse order around the map but only stops at locations important to the Easter Egg; the log cabin, the corn maze (which shouldn't have any fog to begin with), the subway tunnel, and wherever the box is currently located (also adding a box location to the corn maze and subway tunnel, just nearby where the bus stops). Another way to keep it more consistent is that if any of the players do not leave the bus for about 15-20 seconds after it stops, it will start up again and move on. The bus should always move at a consistently fast speed (around the same speed it has as it makes its way from the farm to the power station) The Jet gun does not need as complicated of a change. You should move at a normal pace when the weapon is out, the movement penalty only starting when the weapon is firing. It will take 2 seconds to reach and surpass an rpm of 30 and should be given 20 seconds of total use before entering a 40 second cooldown (if it is fully overheated). The movement speed penalty should actually not exist when moving forward, actually allowing the player to traverse quickly with the weapon and be able to use it as a tool to move at a consistently fast speed (I know this was not possible originally because of hardware limitations but nowadays it would be very easy to implement). The final drawback that would make sense is for the Jet Gun to be overloaded and disabled if the player is shocked by Avogodro while they have the weapon out with the same cooldown as if it was fully overheated. Please let me know if anyone else agrees or has suggestions
I remember being stuck on the maze step in buried for three hours until the game crashed. The lever body search step also isn’t quite what i d call fun because it’s so random and doesnt really offer anything interesting gameplay wise
Time bomb in Burried can also be used to double current points. You can fill your bank easily with that method, points can also be shared with other players
I think using the sniper perma perk is as affective as doing something like this. But it’s definitely a ridiculous way to double your points in the bank by essentially doing nothing
Another way you could fix the Jet Gun that I've always thought about: Don't make it break or drop, instead give it a cooldown period after overheating, and make it more visually clear that this is the case. Add a short animation of the weapon overheating (kinda like energy weapons in Halo do) and then you put it away automatically, making the icon transparent during cooldown. Attempting to take it back out during the cooldown period will give a short text prompt saying you must give it time to cool off. Optionally give a text prompt when picking up the weapon explaining how it works, say something even as simple as "Don't let this weapon overheat!" to still give players a chance to figure out how to manage that on their own. Simple, easy, effective at communicating the point that you've overheated the gun.
You know, that would’ve been perfect. Who’s who on a map as massive as tranzit would make for useful. And tombstone on a map like die rise were reviving teammates can be very difficult due to its many flaws would work perfectly.
Tranzit has the worst design for Pap. Mob of the dead, Shadows of evil I figured out on my own, but Tranzit?? You have to put a turbine on some random door and go all the way to town and the other vault door opens is crazy. I figured out the first vault easily. Also the fact it’s super tedious and dangerous to PaP is even more annoying
I wonder if Treyarch will ever revisit Mob of the Dead for a third time. You mentioned the map was originally supposed to be much larger, but now in 2024 we have Alcatraz/Rebirth Island in Warzone
The best fix for tranzit is already on the pc fixed/modded version (can be found on some plutonium servers). While power’s on, everything is powered on (so portable electric trap, portable turret, secret doors, pack-a-punch vault on top of everything else that’s already powered by the power switch such as perks and lamp posts) and the turbine is not a crutch item everyone needs anymore ! It’s so simple yet so effective a part of me thinks it was the intended way but 3arc either didn’t care or once again tried to "balance" a pve gamemode by removing all the fun…
There’s also another mod that makes is so that the map doesn’t have lava, fog, and denezins. While these do fix alot of tranzit’s issues, the map is beyond saving without an entire rework.
Oh man I absolutely love Nuketown. The randomized perk system creates such a great challenge. It is limiting but it adds so much variability and replayability.

I didn't see the obligatory "did you know that the origins EE step names were a reference to Reznov's escape plan from the vorkuta mission in bo1?" comment anywhere so i thought id go ahead and slide that in. Great video by the way, took me back in a bittersweet way, feels like since black ops 4, zombies has been on a downward trend, but in theyre defense im not sure how they could re-release the magic that was classic zombies without directly copying it, bo4 zombies wasnt inherently bad, just not what i hoped for, and every subsequent game felt the same if not more dissapointing, but man experiencing waw-bo3 zombies for the first time was really something special to me and my friends back then.
Good job brother! I like your in depth analysis of each map as well as some opinions that are subject to respectful debate. You earned a like and subscribe from me!
Am i the only one that played town survival non stop when it came out. I loved running round after round running trains from the bar upstairs to the hotel across the lava pool where pack a punch was
Jet gun pieces 2 of them not reset when you break on open area however it is a small area and breaks instead of being next to wall It goes inside to wall and reset. Also Turret friendly fire on and 1 shots you and your teammates so you can troll people with it for some reason I learn it by hard way.
@@zestymoon I also wish you talked about grief mode maps and how much potential there is for really good survival maps. Mob of the Dead grief mode has mule kick and phd (all perks on mob) other than electric cherry and no jug. When you give a dog zombie instead of a tomahawk, the dog gives you a random drop and comes back every round. Box has a blundergat but no acid gat set, so you can use the weapon more strategically. Sad because the layout of the map is so much fun and accessible. The only problem is the grief mode only map. Same with the buried grief mode only map. Grief mode was active for 2 years and died because you needed at least 8 players in the lobby. And a 2 player game is so short because when one person goes down, the game ends.
Hot Take: Black Ops II Zombies only started getting good around Mob of the Dead. You can't have 2 out of the 6 maps be great, with the rest being complete garbage for the most part. Just like MW'19 has the most overrated MP experience, Black Ops II has the most overrated Zombies experience
Mob of the dead will always to me have good memories it was my first easter egg I did with my cousin and got me into zombies but u can do the easter egg with only 2 players which is better then all 4 as long as one is the weasel.
The thing with Tombstone and Who's who is that they're made for the wrong maps. Tombstone is perfect for a map that insta death is really possible and slight mistakes could cost you your set up. While Who's who is perfect for a map that's really open and is possible and most likely to be split from your teammates for whatever reason. So a slight change between Tranzit and Die Rise perks would work wonders for them.
Great video but the continuous times the mobsters ride the plane weasel says were going down again knowing that was not there first time they rode on the plane.
58:26 , I've hear about this story, there have been rumors as to what happened to the escapees. It's been speculated that those people never made it since a cargo ship spotted a floating body on the ocean that appeared to be dead, they couldn't stop, for reasons I don't remember, to check the body. But another rumor states that there have been sitings of them and they appeared to a relative's funeral dressed up as woman. random fact but I thought it was interesting
Most people say Black Ops II had the worst Zombies but I believe it had the best, as really, only TranZit and Die Rise sucked, everything else was good, and the Victis Maps showed a more horror atmosphere, where you’re in a broken Earth that has become an apocalypse, and then the second half of maps are more of Mythology, with Origins being the craziest finisher to the mode, and I love it

You can't make the massive generalization that no other cod game's zombies will ever be like black ops 2 zombies, then back track in the comments and say you shouldn't compare black ops 2 zombies to black ops 3 zombies because it is as equally worth appreciation as any other game. My guy missed the most important thing the diner offers.. Galvanized knuckles. That’s where the hatch should go, not on the bus.
But why the fuck did they have to be a thing. Why couldn’t it just be oh, buy another door or something nah dude, let the randoms screw like 6 games out of 7 for like taking the jetgun parts and dying in the pit at power or turning the power on and off again and again
The map aged surprisingly well, I like it in solo but they clearly never understood the public match formula.
*also taking the parts and dying on the bus
I have been watching a silly amount of zombies content recently and I’m glad someone finally addressed even in passing how fucking weird it is that “Leroy” is a character. Being disabled is so fun
Tranzit’s biggest flaw is that it was too ambitious for its time, even if it was fundamental for building what would become. Tranzit’s the kind of map that would benefit from a Remaster the most, because it could be redesigned with more advanced design philosophies in mind. If the lessons have been learned, why not apply them where they weren’t before?
it also got a ton of cut content
I always loved tranzit. I wish people didn't shit on it so much. It was so much fun

Treyarch needs to remake Tranzit with it’s original vision.
They wouldn't be able to do it without the original creator is the issue

Wanted to commend you for the hours you poured into creating this behemoth of a retrospective. I felt your critiques were fair and well articulated. I will say that your Die Rise over Mob of the Dead take was scorching hot, not one I’m on board with. Overall, excellent work man 💯
Thanks man. It feels nice that many people appreciate the work i put into this and it truly means so much.
Gonna be missing my son's funeral so I can watch this instead
I'm proud that you have your priorities straight.
this is your duty
The honorable thing to do.
@Wafflesfordiner your CALL OF DUTY
Valid.
Town is one of my all time favorite casual maps
There is beauty in simplicity but I think the more effort they put into the game the more fun and options there are for a better more fun experience definitely with friends yk
I used the play BO2 with my dad when I was little. All these things we have missed just makes me want to play again! Great video! :)
Thank you man. Glad you enjoyed it
This is easily one of the best retrospectives for this game i've seen. Well said man
Thanks man that means alot
I actually love Die Rise's map design and transportation methods. To me, it forces to both improvise and think ahead in a way that is different from other maps, and it brings challenge. If you to think if you're going to go to the next area as you will then need to go around the entire map to get back, and it also makes it so that the players will need to stick together more so than in other maps, as if they go down in a previous area then there is no hope for them.
Die Rise is so underrated, it’s really fun once you start learning
one thing about the tranzit bus, when you crouch spam on the mattresses in the back, the bus starts up faster no matter what stop you're at
I loved Tranzit myself, I didn't mind the way the bus worked and how you had to set up the pack a punch.

I’m glad you enjoyed it man
I just realised thad mid rounds don't really exist in buried, you can get completly setup in a round or 2 so you are already in "later rounds" at that point.

Black Ops II zombies was so bad, yet so good. Until Mob of the Dead, Buried, and Origins I basically stuck with BO1 for a while.

And honestly I’m fine with the bus being randomly started, but I’d maybe make it so you’d pay to use the bus like in shadows of evil.

Grief was a fun 4 v 4 survival mode on edited versions of some maps or the exact same for the Tranzit survival maps.
here is a quick ranking for a mode I loved and wish would comeback
@@zestymoon Yeah it's a shame the grief community died. My experience back in the day was amazing. Truly a mode I guess you had to be there for.
@@zestymoon wait is that the reason? I thought you wanted to make its own video about it.
@@blauwbeer556 both of these reasons were a factor. I want to make it its own video when I manage to accumulate enough people to play with. Now unfortunately that’s impossible.
Tranzit feels like an prototype for Outbreak in some ways, but it is very nostalgic for me! Since Tranzit was my first real experience with zombies!
After bo2, zombies went downhill. I still miss Jesse Snyder and Jimmy Zielinski as zombie’s main leads
Blundell may have been more consistent, but zielinski had that unforgettable zombies charm in his maps that I think will never be replicated
@@zestymoonBlundell was consistently bland and pretentious. It was all style, production value and self-aggrandizement… very little substance or spirit

Wonderful video essay, bo2 will always be my favorite due to the map variety.
1:02:49 I don't know if it was done on purpose but when the loop starts again it does the first purchase animation of the weapons bad for the gameplay but a really thoughtful detail for the story.
I think that’s just a thing with after life. It happens alot whenever I use after life were switching to the second weapon resets the animation
I absolutely loved this video dawg thanks
Honestly I find BO2 zombies more fun to play than BO3 sometimes, for pretty much all the reasons listed in this video. Although, my opinion could be heavily influenced by nostalgia since BO2 was the first and only zombies game I ever played until I bought BO3 this year. Also I have basically zero experience on MOTD or Origins so as for my thoughts on the other four:
- TranZit is fun with a full lobby of players, but boring, lonely and tedious on solo
- Die Rise is frustrating sometimes but under-appreciated
- Buried is, like you said, basically a sandbox
- Nuketown is pretty cool I guess lol (fun to play on Plutonium servers with a lobby of 8 people!)
Very cool video by the way, always love seeing small TH-camrs make masterpieces
Thanks for the compliment man. Never thought my video would be described as a masterpiece
I always hated the power station on tranzit. By the time i got into the second room, the bus was beginning to leave and i had to rush back to it, or risk going through the fog.
You could use the turbine though. Put it by the garage door and you can leave faster
@@zestymoon idk, I've always just had trouble with that area. It very well could just be a skill issue
The bus should always move at a consistently fast speed (around the same speed it has as it makes its way from the farm to the power station)
The Jet gun does not need as complicated of a change.
Please let me know if anyone else agrees or has suggestions
what a video😮.Keep that work up man you deserve more followers

my favorite is bo1 just because of how unique each map feels, but hold so much love for bo2, 3 and 4 as well. and cold war
I remember being stuck on the maze step in buried for three hours until the game crashed. The lever body search step also isn’t quite what i d call fun because it’s so random and doesnt really offer anything interesting gameplay wise
The cool thing about the body search for me is that you travel to the future. It’s a really interesting mechanic for me because of this
I subbed as soon as I heard you make the Denizen sound
Welcome to the lads
Time bomb in Burried can also be used to double current points. You can fill your bank easily with that method, points can also be shared with other players
I think using the sniper perma perk is as affective as doing something like this. But it’s definitely a ridiculous way to double your points in the bank by essentially doing nothing
@@zestymoonIt can be usefull to set up 4 players before doing an easter egg
Tombstone and Who's Who should have switched maps. Tombstone makes more sense on Die Rise, and Who's Who would be decent on Tranzit
You know, that would’ve been perfect. Who’s who on a map as massive as tranzit would make for useful. And tombstone on a map like die rise were reviving teammates can be very difficult due to its many flaws would work perfectly.
Tranzit is so much fun with firends, would love a second atempt Tranzit 2!
How does bro only have 1.3k subs bro. This content is top notch.
Thanks man. One day I’ll be much bigger

Oh yeah your take is hot...hot as siberia
This is not a hot take it's a facts

@@blauwbeer556 my internet is bad that why it sent twice
Mob of the dead will always to me have good memories it was my first easter egg I did with my cousin and got me into zombies but u can do the easter egg with only 2 players which is better then all 4 as long as one is the weasel.
The thing with Tombstone and Who's who is that they're made for the wrong maps.
Tombstone is perfect for a map that insta death is really possible and slight mistakes could cost you your set up.
While Who's who is perfect for a map that's really open and is possible and most likely to be split from your teammates for whatever reason.
So a slight change between Tranzit and Die Rise perks would work wonders for them.
after watching this I can say that it wasn't only a video but a journey
Did you enjoy climbing to mount everest?

Great video but the continuous times the mobsters ride the plane weasel says were going down again knowing that was not there first time they rode on the plane.
58:26 , I've hear about this story, there have been rumors as to what happened to the escapees. It's been speculated that those people never made it since a cargo ship spotted a floating body on the ocean that appeared to be dead, they couldn't stop, for reasons I don't remember, to check the body. But another rumor states that there have been sitings of them and they appeared to a relative's funeral dressed up as woman. random fact but I thought it was interesting
They also apparently were seen in brazil, dressed up as farmers or something like that
I love how everyone ignores the gta loading screen
Most people say Black Ops II had the worst Zombies but I believe it had the best, as really, only TranZit and Die Rise sucked, everything else was good, and the Victis Maps showed a more horror atmosphere, where you’re in a broken Earth that has become an apocalypse, and then the second half of maps are more of Mythology, with Origins being the craziest finisher to the mode, and I love it
Thumbnail goes insanely hard
Omfg a 2 hour video about cod zombies lets fucking go
Goated video 👏
Deadshot on console/controller autoaims to the head when you aim near a zombie as well as the hipfire spread reduction
Should’ve mentioned it. I completely forgot as I haven’t played controller in a couple years
