There are 2 options, u see the lights and take like 30 mins just for the step, or u memorize completely where the numbers send the power (which is completely memory because there's no patron or specific direction on 1, 2 and 3).

Been there my guy, I ended up grabbing randoms in a public lobby to run around while I shocked the trams, backed out of beast, killed another Margwa, and then called the tram and booked my ass in beast mode over to the center to shock the keepers. It was hell

As fucked up as the Gorod valve step is, the step where you have to escort a walking mangler to dragon command while there are infinite zombies coming at you is utterly ridiculous and nearly impossible on solo without the help of gobblegum or by throwing monkeys constantly.
Honestly man, I completely disagree. The mk3’s yellow orb that slows down zombies trivializes the step. And being in a lower round in general makes it even easier. I would argue that the drone escort is way worse. Despite that, I still think the valve step is worse than both due to it being designed as a massive waste of time
Same opinion here, I wouldn't say completely disagree but what I did was mesmerise the spawn locations of the mangler with non pap weapon and always shot his cannon off so that he would run instead. You don't even have to mesmerise it cuz you can hear him spawn anyway
@@tagus100 Upgraded Raygun MK3 blaster shot will nearly almost always take his arm off instantly, and you can then just shoot the yellow orbs (low-damage/0damage) so it slows the zombies behind him. It's a very easy step once you figure out the strategy, but if you don't know how, I could see how people find a hard time doing this step.
another problem with the last step on motd is that you don't have enough afterlife mode on, so like if your on solo and you put all the codes in, it's basically too late to revive yourself, i wish they could input a longer afterlife mode for that one part
For Der Eisendrache, the reason you need to time travel twice is because after the first time, you pick up a keycard in the safe. The keycard is then inserted into the computer which opens the box containing the stone.
For the Buried EE, the order of the colored door levers is the order of the colored candies in the candy shop in town. You don’t have to do the trial and error looking for sparks.
Go for it man. They are so rewarding to make. and even if they don’t get views, you can be at least proud that you’ve completed a monumental task that not many can do

Kind of wild how an entire third of the DotN EE counts as one step in this video, when I feel like each of those branching paths has like 3 steps apiece.
The reason I counted the entire thing as one is because the entire process of this challenge is for charging the telescope. The rest of the challenges are similar where one is you going to the afterlife to escort a ghost, and the other is reviving knights and escorting them to the pack a punch. Side not, I think I recognize you from stanley’s streams, or am I tripping?
I was today years old when I learned why I couldn’t complete the margwa step in revelations. All of those times that I raged out and quit because I thought that I missed a hole or it glitched. It turns out that I just had to stay in the Apothican for all nine holes w/o leaving the PaP place. 🙃 At least I know now. Thanks for telling us this - that was by far the most annoying part because everything else was pretty quick
What drives me crazy about the Orgins Easter Egg isn't one individual step, but the overall egg has a stupid obsession with soul boxes to an insane degree. Like almost every zombies map has some kind of soul box but holy shit the amount of them in this one Easter Egg. Like just counting: -Fire Staff crazy place step. -all 4 staff upgrades -the 4 boxes to get the fists -the 2 stone locations to get the air strike -the final step of the egg. That's 12 different soul boxes that need to be filled. Not to mention, the robot can make you start over the fists boxes. Just drives me crazy because it might not be hard but its annoying that so often you cant just hold a zombie and progress because you need to fill the soul boxes
DONT EVEN get me started on buried. 3 DAYS of grinding and i cant even say i completed it The server wouldnt allow my crew to complete the sharpshooter step😅
Thoughts: -The excavator step can be optimized by not disabling the wrong excavators. That makes it so instead of a 33% chance of the right drill each time they active to a 50% chance, and finally to a 100% chance. It's still ridiculous though as excavators don't activate on specific intervals. - Getting a wonder weapon from the box is nowhere near as inconvenient as you're making it out to be. For example, shangri-la. The ball step is NOT a difficult step. In fact the first post-power step is significantly harder as it requires precise coordination between two players while the remaining two players don't fuck up the process as well. Not to mention as well the napalm zombie step (which has to be done AFTER the ball step btw) where you need to lead a napalm zombie arround the map after activating the eclipse timer. Get too close to the napalm? It blows up and you're screwed. Time runs out midway? Start over! Do all of it but the napalm missed one of the gas valves, or someone didn't go back to the start to hit the lever? Failed again. Tranzit's emp step does suck, but it's not intended to be done by two players. Buried's worst ee step is 100% shared by both sides as the final step. It requires all 4 players to perform a shootout gallery step with perfect timing and almost no leeway. Flipping some levers does not compare to the insane rage one feels when your teammate fails you once again at the shootout step. Origins most tedious step is MUCH more difficult on solo, but it's not building and upgrading the staffs.... No it's getting the right staffs into the right robots, and then waiting an eternity for the middle robot to walk through with his foot open so you can MAYBE throw a beacon grenade with expert precision in a microscopic time frame. Revelations is inaccurate. You don't get reset to zero when you leave the apothicon, you get reset back to your last set of three ie 3 or 6 arnies will be saved. Enough to spawn in more margwas.
he did say specifically that he wasn't including the robots step since you can cheese it, but i agree with the rest. idk why he didn't choose the sharpshooter step on buried. also, he seems to (incorrectly) think that wonder weapons are rarer in the box for some reason?
@@rmx39 while i can agree that the sharpshooter step is probably the worst one in Buried, i am gonna have to chalk that one up to overall skill issue. ofc you cant expect everyone in your team to be a sharpshooter and get shit done in one go, but if your teammates can barely hit a damn thing as is, then thats just about it.
I definitely agree with the list of the most annoying Easter egg steps for BO3 but there’s a few that I think are more annoying: Zetsubou’s most annoying step to me is either growing the bullet for AA gun to get the plane cog or needing anywhere but here to teleport to the other cog solely because I’ve had to end really good runs to put the gobble gum on. For GK, I think the bomb step has to take the most annoying step. The valve step is stupid with having to pull up the site but at least it’s a key to the answer. The bomb just straight up annoying if you have teammates who don’t listen because they can end the run by not knowing which location they are at.
I can understand picking the plane cog or the anywhere but here cog over the zipline cog. I however completely disagree with the bomb step. I mostly do the step solo so the reliance on teammates isn’t something I worry about. And even when I do play the map with a team, I’ve been pretty successful at communicating with my team every time with this step.
@@zestymoon In that case it’s completely fair, the bomb step has been a hassle for me previously when doing co-op runs but I think that’s just a teammate skill issue to an extent. I think you were pretty dead on with all the other games super specific and annoying Easter egg steps
For Dead of the Night tally step, the tally will always add up to odd numbers between 7-15. If you get a tally mark of 4 in one location it will always be either 7 or 9 so that symbol with more than likely be the lowest. Also, once you do the dial step, look above the fireplace to see if the scratch mark spawns in. 8f it doesn't you don't need to check the hall area
While these tips do help, the problem is within it’s concept. You are still required to have knowledge of 28 locations of symbols and scratch marks that are barely visible. As I said in the video, people didn’t even understand how the step worked for a while because it isn’t telegraphed well enough
I haven’t forgotten man. Notice how I said afterwards that you are forced to wait within the apothican because leaving will result in the step resetting. So if you were to try to redeem the max ammo from the challenge board, the step resets. Now whether that’s part of the step or its a glitch is something I don’t know, but I’m 100% sure the step resets because it happened to me and I still have the footage.
Zesty is indeed sure of what he’s saying. The ra step can be skipped in solo. If you activate pap and leave the skeletons that spawn in, you can come back to pap during the ra defense and the skeletons that block the beam will despawn.
Something I think about when looking at Easter eggs is me thinking “okay watching the cutscenes and stuff, how do the characters get to the next part where they like teleport or move on to the next map” and I find the Easter egg steps in each map interesting in the way the characters actually do things to reach the goal they have in mind

26:53 the terminal next to the kronorium opens the box, and you can see the keycard being inserted into a glowing slot in the terminal. you need to open the safe to get the card, but the first time you time travel is for the purpose of opening the safe that being said, i don’t really know what gameplay purpose it serves other than making the player go through the wisp step again. and who’s to say that they couldn’t just take the shit they need over the guy’s shoulder while he’s giving his little speech.
When Easter eggs become the focus are they even Easter eggs anymore. The newest zombies has a story but in order to progress you have to do the most obscure things and it seems random
Surprised the Mimic Room for “Ravenov Implications” didn’t beat out the projector step. I’m also surprised “Entrapment” wasn’t covered in the Outbreak section. I figured the parachuting into red portals step would be mentioned.
I’m not really sure which step in which map you’re referring to when you’re saying “ravanov’s implications”. Bus as for the portals, I’d say that finding a reel in one if three areas in an extremely large map is definitely more annoying than finding one giant portal and jumping from portal to portal midair
@@zestymoonShould’ve specified I meant Ruka in the missile silo for the main Outbreak Easter egg. I usually just end up calling the Outbreak Easter eggs by their calling card names as they have no map names associated with them. The step I’m specifically talking about is when you have to head to the center room in the silos after meeting with Ravenov in order to retrieve one of the keys off an HVT Mimic who’s surrounded by dozens of Mimics disguised as random objects. My problem with it is that it slows down the entire pace of the Easter egg having to pick each Mimic off one by one because if you rush in not only are you dealing with a bunch of Mimics but it also lags the game badly even on Series X.
@orton3541 i personally like that step because if you start the jellyfish step and charge the aetherium canister you can use the two charges to run around and kill all the mimics and still have a charge for the jellyfish, i think it gives speedrunning a fun path to take.
Fun fact about moon, you can force excavator in at most 3 by just leaving them down and not hacking. If one is down already, it will pick one that isnt.
We were gonna actually test it out and see if it’s possible 3 player. Unfortunately not long after, another person disconnected. That game was truly the most I’ve been unlucky in a zombies game
Waiting for the rocket test fires on Der Eisendrache is certified some of the most boring stuff in zombies. I never build the fire bow in solo because of it. If you build the fire bow and the ragnarok in the same game, and you mess up either of these steps at least once, you will understand pain.

17:57 as someone who completed this EE countless times on solo, I'm surprised you rated this step lower than the step where you have to throw the beacon out of the map to create a hole for the maxis drone to enter. That step is like the excavator step, super boring RNG fest that can take up to 30 minutes depending on your luck.
True, but the step taking that long is an extremely race occurrence. I’m sure of this because around 4 months ago, I did numerous easter egg attempts on this map within the span of a couple days, and the step taking that long almost never happens. My biggest problem with the staffs is that upgrading them isn’t really a fun process. Sure they are extremely powerful and fun to use, but the rest of the egg is so short that you don’t use them enough to warrant the sheer amount of time it takes to upgrade all of them. And as I said in the video, their involvement with the egg is only the first two steps, which only exacerbates the issue for me.
I’m not surprised. There’s very few people in this platform that have done all the easter eggs and are proficient enough at reviewing them in a thorough way. Of course none better than sir 557 himself

Just discovered this video and always appreciate when in the zombies list they include AW, WW2, and IW Zombies. I actually loved all three as much as treyarch zombies.
I remember me and my cousin doing the bo2 origins Easter egg it was on the 4th of July we didn't intend on completing it but how far we went we actually did it after like 4 hours and some zombie holding bathroom breaks, our family was just eating and talking outside.
getting the EMPs for the Transit Easter egg I don't remember being that bad I remember the EMP's being quite common I figured you would have picked the step where you had to kill the Avogadro under the lighthouse cuz I remember that being very strict but I haven't done the Easter egg in years
I enjoyed this and it's mostly agreeable, but I do have a few that are different (that suck WITH a guide available) - Revelations summoning key step. Right at the end and consistently buggy and prone to softlocking due to the summoning key getting stuck. - Shaolin Shuffle eyeball symbols. With a guide, the word game is trivial. A guide cannot make checking 20+ locations around the map 5 or 6 times any more bearable, especially if you mishear the morse code and pick the wrong poster like a goober and have to find them all again. I have never made that mistake I'm pretty sure, but I feel bad for whoever did. - Voyage planet step. Not hard but I hate rapid-fire pausing to note planets and having to run through the map to track them. Also if you don't know that shooting the sun is a timed trigger, you can mess up the step after successfully completing it just because you didn't start the glacier rush part. - BoTD simon says. Not hard, but I seriously hate having to play a 6 button game of simon says, having a short time limit to note the final 3 symbols, making sure not to forget the punch card (or else you have to run from spawn back to the docks), then translating the symbols, making sure you have THREE shield blasts + one more to even start the step... On a ghost who sometimes will self destruct/pull the wrong lever if you blast him slightly too late. While I'm not super experienced with AW, I'm surprised the alternate versions of the easter eggs weren't mentioned. Like having to melee kill zombies on the first map for 50 keycards or however many without going down.
Can’t comment on AW and shaolin. The rev summoning key while buggy, is still a step that is much faster to complete than the pap reel. As for it soft locking you, there’s a way to get out of it. I unfortunately don’t remember exactly how, I’m 100% sure that a way to get out of the softlock exists. For blood, while simon days can tedious and unnecessarily punishing if failed, it only requires you to do one loop around the map. The bird step on the other hand requires multiple loops and they have to be done within 4 rounds. To me, it was the more tedious of the two. And for the planet step, I put the clock step above it mainly because of the glitch I showed in the video. Anyway I’m glad you enjoyed the video
@@zestymoon Idk about solo but in co-op I was able to fix the summoning key softlocking about 10 times in a match just by having either of us go down when the key disappeared or got stuck because the key would come to make a revive I think. Also, I've never once experienced the Voyage clock glitch. I play on Xbox so that might be why. I hear the PC version of BO4 is... not great.
I agree with you, Zesty Moon. The dagger step on Shadowed throne really kills the momentum of the map, and the round start thing blocking the slow turning safe dial is also horrible. Although, I personally find the Roar of Sangket (shield upgrade) quest in Frozen Dawn to be worse than the Thulian Flail quest.
Im suprised you think Richtofen's side of TranZit is more annoying than Maxis. Maxis side is infuriating since you can't have perks, and the step where you have to lead the avogadro underneath the pylon is so dogshit.
First, my bad for not replying sooner. TH-cam comments aren’t getting notified well for me, so kudos to you youtube. But the reason I don’t mind the maxis side too much is that while yes, the avogadro step sucks, I’d rather do that step that takes less than 20 seconds than going for the jetgun.
33:23 actually u can leave the apothicon during the arnies margwa step. U can’t leave while the margwas are spawned in but after u kill a trio u can leave and come back. So I like to use my max ammo challenge if I can since they’re mostly easy. Especially with multiple players one or two people will have it completed generally. Also if u do leave while the margwas are spawned in, it resets just that trio, not the entire progress. Anyways I don’t see it as that bad, and honestly killing a ton of margwas is a fun step with a bit of a challenge. Imo the worst rev step is probably finding the eggs, but really only if you’re in solo. There’s some tricky spawns and I only know all of them after doing the EE loads of times. In co op there’s an egg dup glitch though. This is a really great video though, really fun watch. You make some awesome content.
That’s interesting. It could be a bug on my end as in the game I recorded for the video, the step resets even when there’s no margwas. Still even without this bug, I still dislike the step due to its over reliance on max ammos. I’m glad you enjoyed the content man
Oh yeah I remember blood of the dead. How could I forget? I spent 2 and half hours playing. Getting set up, doing steps and then I got to the bird step. I'd never done this before so I was heavily relying on a guide... one hour of suffering later, I made it. Oh btw, me and a friend were doing this in God mode and even then it was a fucking nightmare. When we got past the bird step we found a whole bunch of shit left to do. TWO AND A HALF HOURS IN. Then I found out the map broke and we had wasted our time. We tried everything to fix it and nothing worked. I um... I have a special hate for blood of the dead. (That guy I was playing with literally cried. He didn't even wanna do it in the first place and when I told him it was impossible it literally made him cry lol) FUCK. THAT. MAP.
I unironically love the chemistry step in Attack of the Radioactive thing. I've done it so many times It's ingrained in my memory how to do every chemical and everything is always on the way to another step so im barely ever going out of my way to grab the ingredients
From my personal experience (of attempting all of the Cold War eggs solo), the 'worst' steps in them is usually the 'run killers', i.e. the steps where you're most likely to wipe. As such, the worst Outbreak (specifically the Operation Inversiya missile silo quest) step for me is the final boss fight (too many regular/special zombies taking your focus away from the boss combined with a time limit), and the worst for Mauer is the Safe step (I have died so many times trying to find the code pieces, or been one-shot by the zombies in the safe room because they were just waiting on top of me as I opened the safe) Then again, the Safe step in Mauer can be skipped if you get lucky enough to get the Wonder Weapon from either the box or the challenge machine, so that might be why you didn't use that one. These two are the only ones that stick out to me as of the 6 Easter Eggs in CW (1 for each of the 4 round-based maps and 2 in Outbreak), these 2 eggs were the only ones I couldn't solo, with Mauer being the only one I couldn't complete at all. I will admit that I did use guides for all of these eggs, and that my Firebase Z run was pretty lucky (I got the Ray-K from the mini-easter egg which gives you a free Juggernog), so that might corrupt my results a bit.
Nah if we’re counting boss fights, the eye step on Shaolin Shuffle can straight up soft lock you. The Double packed Kendall’s don’t count, energy weapons don’t count, and if you run out of ammo you just can’t do anything about it. And instead of using your rat eye, you have to wait for Pam to show them to you and after a certain amount of beeps, they respawn. Even the hardest step in the boss fight (the heart step) can be completed with chi powers but only bullets count. On Coop it’s definitely an easy step though.
Im late to the party, but regarding mauer step 1:06:53, another problem with the tempest canister: If you are playing co-op and not all of the player are close to the canister, the tempest can spawn at the other side of the map, giving you two options: Kill the tempest and pass a round to try again, or try to get the temest to the canister (this happened to me playing with my brother on split screen so that may be the reason why this happened everytime we did this step)
Moon excavator step sucks cuz me and my friend tried to do the Easter egg, got to that step on round 4, ended the step on round 32 when it finally decided to show up
on de for the death ray tubes you can end the round and still get them, and the reason you cant get the keeper slab is that the key for the machine to unlock the box is in the safe
Fun fact: months later, there’s an easy glitch that makes it so u can pickup 2 staffs at a time. If I remember correctly you have to down yourself though
Just saying, the planet shooting part of voyage is worse than the clocks, in solo is even worse And the power room trial in blood, thats a nightmare, the bird is tedious, the trials is literally IMPOSIBLE in solo
You could argue that the planet step is worse. I didn’t pick it though because it’s has more fun moments than the clock step, and it doesn’t suffer from a bug or glitch like the clock step. The trials being impossible is tbh, a massive exaggeration. Are they annoying? Absolutely. But I still think they aren’t as tedious as the bird step.

For me, it’s any step that requires you to record a video because there is no possible way you can remember everything on screen perfectly, or any step that’s just straight rng (excavators on moon). My friend and I went to round 33 the other day waiting for the right excavator for the Easter egg, and it was ALWAYS the wrong one, even when it was a 50/50 chance, it was just wrong every single time. Also, the “skewer the winged beast” step on origins (bo3) can get softlocked (found out the hard way 2 days ago), the invisible zombie still has collision and can be killed… but the devs forgot to put in a fail safe so if you kill that zombie while not in zombie blood, your game will bug out and you can’t do the easter egg, 2 hours wasted
So for the Iron Castle 2nd time travel step, it is because you are inserting a Key card on to the machine to open the box to the tablet and not interacting with the book
That stupid monster at the end of The Final Reich gave me so many problems till I finally realized that I should PAP the wall gun in the main area instead of the P90.
For the Buda room step I didn't know about the Melee weapon or bleeding out part of the glitch. When me and my friends did the easter egg we learned you had to pull the ballistic knife from the box and pack it before doing any other step of the easter egg or it will glitch. I hate Die Rise so much.
For those who don’t know you do not touch the kronorium during the DE egg you put the device you get from the safe in a device right next to the kronorium
i disagree with the zipline step being the worse step on zet,mainly because AFAIK, the challenges also need to be done for KT-4 upgrade anyway which is needed for the egg, i'd replace it with the artillery step where you need to go through 3 rounds for a 1 in 7 chance to get the shell and interacting with the artillery piece is awkward because its a small spot and there is no prompt for it
Revelations is one of my top 5 worsts for me, because if you don't know, you can glitch out teleporting with the Summoning Key if you dont walk into one during the middle of a melee animation.
@@zestymoon Either get downed or hope you get a Death Machine. But every speedrunner I see who does that map, they always melee with the key before walking into the teleporters and that seems to prevent it.
I love making all the staves in Origins. It's such a skill check to do it as fast as possible and feels so good when you optimize it. The slot machine step (Rain Fire) on the other hand fucking blows. I almost exclusively play solo.
In der eisendrache, I think the reason you can't grab the stone tablet on your first visit is because after your first time travel and opening the safe, you pick up a floppy disk. And I think you are inserting that into a machine that is next to the kronorium that everyone spams interact at.
The darkest shore boss fight is by far the worst step in ww2 zombies having to watch 3 different videos starts to get the best chance for me and my friend to do the fight
you can actually finish the last step with 3 players (although you still need 4 to be able to get past the ritual) we had a player once die to the margwas and we finished it with 3 people
True, but as stanley said, you can only see them in even number rounds. On top of that, you have to end the round to get the sword pieces. So if you want to be done with the egg early, you’ll have to resort to trail and error

As fucked up as the Gorod valve step is, the step where you have to escort a walking mangler to dragon command while there are infinite zombies coming at you is utterly ridiculous and nearly impossible on solo without the help of gobblegum or by throwing monkeys constantly.
Honestly man, I completely disagree. The mk3’s yellow orb that slows down zombies trivializes the step. And being in a lower round in general makes it even easier. I would argue that the drone escort is way worse. Despite that, I still think the valve step is worse than both due to it being designed as a massive waste of time
Same opinion here, I wouldn't say completely disagree but what I did was mesmerise the spawn locations of the mangler with non pap weapon and always shot his cannon off so that he would run instead. You don't even have to mesmerise it cuz you can hear him spawn anyway
If you shoot his cannon arm off he will run instead.

Upgraded Raygun MK3 blaster shot will nearly almost always take his arm off instantly, and you can then just shoot the yellow orbs (low-damage/0damage) so it slows the zombies behind him.
It's a very easy step once you figure out the strategy, but if you don't know how, I could see how people find a hard time doing this step.
The Moon steps where you gotta rely on the box over and over, especially on solo...

another problem with the last step on motd is that you don't have enough afterlife mode on, so like if your on solo and you put all the codes in, it's basically too late to revive yourself, i wish they could input a longer afterlife mode for that one part

For Der Eisendrache, the reason you need to time travel twice is because after the first time, you pick up a keycard in the safe. The keycard is then inserted into the computer which opens the box containing the stone.
For the Buried EE, the order of the colored door levers is the order of the colored candies in the candy shop in town. You don’t have to do the trial and error looking for sparks.
Must’ve gotten really lucky. Candy order doesn’t change between games.

Kind of wild how an entire third of the DotN EE counts as one step in this video, when I feel like each of those branching paths has like 3 steps apiece.
The reason I counted the entire thing as one is because the entire process of this challenge is for charging the telescope. The rest of the challenges are similar where one is you going to the afterlife to escort a ghost, and the other is reviving knights and escorting them to the pack a punch. Side not, I think I recognize you from stanley’s streams, or am I tripping?

I was today years old when I learned why I couldn’t complete the margwa step in revelations. All of those times that I raged out and quit because I thought that I missed a hole or it glitched. It turns out that I just had to stay in the Apothican for all nine holes w/o leaving the PaP place. 🙃 At least I know now. Thanks for telling us this - that was by far the most annoying part because everything else was pretty quick

I’ve been running through the Easter eggs with some pals and man I couldn’t agree more.
What drives me crazy about the Orgins Easter Egg isn't one individual step, but the overall egg has a stupid obsession with soul boxes to an insane degree. Like almost every zombies map has some kind of soul box but holy shit the amount of them in this one Easter Egg. Like just counting:
-Fire Staff crazy place step.
-all 4 staff upgrades
-the 4 boxes to get the fists
-the 2 stone locations to get the air strike
-the final step of the egg.
That's 12 different soul boxes that need to be filled. Not to mention, the robot can make you start over the fists boxes. Just drives me crazy because it might not be hard but its annoying that so often you cant just hold a zombie and progress because you need to fill the soul boxes

Thoughts:
-The excavator step can be optimized by not disabling the wrong excavators. That makes it so instead of a 33% chance of the right drill each time they active to a 50% chance, and finally to a 100% chance. It's still ridiculous though as excavators don't activate on specific intervals.
- Getting a wonder weapon from the box is nowhere near as inconvenient as you're making it out to be. For example, shangri-la. The ball step is NOT a difficult step. In fact the first post-power step is significantly harder as it requires precise coordination between two players while the remaining two players don't fuck up the process as well. Not to mention as well the napalm zombie step (which has to be done AFTER the ball step btw) where you need to lead a napalm zombie arround the map after activating the eclipse timer. Get too close to the napalm? It blows up and you're screwed. Time runs out midway? Start over! Do all of it but the napalm missed one of the gas valves, or someone didn't go back to the start to hit the lever? Failed again.
Tranzit's emp step does suck, but it's not intended to be done by two players.
Buried's worst ee step is 100% shared by both sides as the final step. It requires all 4 players to perform a shootout gallery step with perfect timing and almost no leeway. Flipping some levers does not compare to the insane rage one feels when your teammate fails you once again at the shootout step.
Origins most tedious step is MUCH more difficult on solo, but it's not building and upgrading the staffs.... No it's getting the right staffs into the right robots, and then waiting an eternity for the middle robot to walk through with his foot open so you can MAYBE throw a beacon grenade with expert precision in a microscopic time frame.
Revelations is inaccurate. You don't get reset to zero when you leave the apothicon, you get reset back to your last set of three ie 3 or 6 arnies will be saved. Enough to spawn in more margwas.
he did say specifically that he wasn't including the robots step since you can cheese it, but i agree with the rest. idk why he didn't choose the sharpshooter step on buried. also, he seems to (incorrectly) think that wonder weapons are rarer in the box for some reason?
@@rmx39 while i can agree that the sharpshooter step is probably the worst one in Buried, i am gonna have to chalk that one up to overall skill issue. ofc you cant expect everyone in your team to be a sharpshooter and get shit done in one go, but if your teammates can barely hit a damn thing as is, then thats just about it.
I definitely agree with the list of the most annoying Easter egg steps for BO3 but there’s a few that I think are more annoying:
Zetsubou’s most annoying step to me is either growing the bullet for AA gun to get the plane cog or needing anywhere but here to teleport to the other cog solely because I’ve had to end really good runs to put the gobble gum on.
For GK, I think the bomb step has to take the most annoying step. The valve step is stupid with having to pull up the site but at least it’s a key to the answer. The bomb just straight up annoying if you have teammates who don’t listen because they can end the run by not knowing which location they are at.
I can understand picking the plane cog or the anywhere but here cog over the zipline cog. I however completely disagree with the bomb step. I mostly do the step solo so the reliance on teammates isn’t something I worry about. And even when I do play the map with a team, I’ve been pretty successful at communicating with my team every time with this step.
@@zestymoon In that case it’s completely fair, the bomb step has been a hassle for me previously when doing co-op runs but I think that’s just a teammate skill issue to an extent. I think you were pretty dead on with all the other games super specific and annoying Easter egg steps
For Dead of the Night tally step, the tally will always add up to odd numbers between 7-15. If you get a tally mark of 4 in one location it will always be either 7 or 9 so that symbol with more than likely be the lowest. Also, once you do the dial step, look above the fireplace to see if the scratch mark spawns in. 8f it doesn't you don't need to check the hall area
While these tips do help, the problem is within it’s concept. You are still required to have knowledge of 28 locations of symbols and scratch marks that are barely visible. As I said in the video, people didn’t even understand how the step worked for a while because it isn’t telegraphed well enough

I haven’t forgotten man. Notice how I said afterwards that you are forced to wait within the apothican because leaving will result in the step resetting. So if you were to try to redeem the max ammo from the challenge board, the step resets. Now whether that’s part of the step or its a glitch is something I don’t know, but I’m 100% sure the step resets because it happened to me and I still have the footage.

Zesty is indeed sure of what he’s saying. The ra step can be skipped in solo. If you activate pap and leave the skeletons that spawn in, you can come back to pap during the ra defense and the skeletons that block the beam will despawn.

Something I think about when looking at Easter eggs is me thinking “okay watching the cutscenes and stuff, how do the characters get to the next part where they like teleport or move on to the next map” and I find the Easter egg steps in each map interesting in the way the characters actually do things to reach the goal they have in mind

26:53 the terminal next to the kronorium opens the box, and you can see the keycard being inserted into a glowing slot in the terminal. you need to open the safe to get the card, but the first time you time travel is for the purpose of opening the safe
that being said, i don’t really know what gameplay purpose it serves other than making the player go through the wisp step again. and who’s to say that they couldn’t just take the shit they need over the guy’s shoulder while he’s giving his little speech.

Surprised the Mimic Room for “Ravenov Implications” didn’t beat out the projector step. I’m also surprised “Entrapment” wasn’t covered in the Outbreak section. I figured the parachuting into red portals step would be mentioned.
I’m not really sure which step in which map you’re referring to when you’re saying “ravanov’s implications”. Bus as for the portals, I’d say that finding a reel in one if three areas in an extremely large map is definitely more annoying than finding one giant portal and jumping from portal to portal midair
@@zestymoonShould’ve specified I meant Ruka in the missile silo for the main Outbreak Easter egg. I usually just end up calling the Outbreak Easter eggs by their calling card names as they have no map names associated with them. The step I’m specifically talking about is when you have to head to the center room in the silos after meeting with Ravenov in order to retrieve one of the keys off an HVT Mimic who’s surrounded by dozens of Mimics disguised as random objects. My problem with it is that it slows down the entire pace of the Easter egg having to pick each Mimic off one by one because if you rush in not only are you dealing with a bunch of Mimics but it also lags the game badly even on Series X.
@orton3541 i personally like that step because if you start the jellyfish step and charge the aetherium canister you can use the two charges to run around and kill all the mimics and still have a charge for the jellyfish, i think it gives speedrunning a fun path to take.
Fun fact about moon, you can force excavator in at most 3 by just leaving them down and not hacking. If one is down already, it will pick one that isnt.

Waiting for the rocket test fires on Der Eisendrache is certified some of the most boring stuff in zombies. I never build the fire bow in solo because of it. If you build the fire bow and the ragnarok in the same game, and you mess up either of these steps at least once, you will understand pain.

17:57 as someone who completed this EE countless times on solo, I'm surprised you rated this step lower than the step where you have to throw the beacon out of the map to create a hole for the maxis drone to enter. That step is like the excavator step, super boring RNG fest that can take up to 30 minutes depending on your luck.
True, but the step taking that long is an extremely race occurrence. I’m sure of this because around 4 months ago, I did numerous easter egg attempts on this map within the span of a couple days, and the step taking that long almost never happens. My biggest problem with the staffs is that upgrading them isn’t really a fun process. Sure they are extremely powerful and fun to use, but the rest of the egg is so short that you don’t use them enough to warrant the sheer amount of time it takes to upgrade all of them. And as I said in the video, their involvement with the egg is only the first two steps, which only exacerbates the issue for me.
Der Eisendrache: Sweet, I upgraded my bow... time to completely ignore it to get the basic ass bow again. _Rolls Eyes_

I remember me and my cousin doing the bo2 origins Easter egg it was on the 4th of July we didn't intend on completing it but how far we went we actually did it after like 4 hours and some zombie holding bathroom breaks, our family was just eating and talking outside.
getting the EMPs for the Transit Easter egg I don't remember being that bad I remember the EMP's being quite common I figured you would have picked the step where you had to kill the Avogadro under the lighthouse cuz I remember that being very strict but I haven't done the Easter egg in years
I enjoyed this and it's mostly agreeable, but I do have a few that are different (that suck WITH a guide available)
- Revelations summoning key step. Right at the end and consistently buggy and prone to softlocking due to the summoning key getting stuck.
- Shaolin Shuffle eyeball symbols. With a guide, the word game is trivial. A guide cannot make checking 20+ locations around the map 5 or 6 times any more bearable, especially if you mishear the morse code and pick the wrong poster like a goober and have to find them all again. I have never made that mistake I'm pretty sure, but I feel bad for whoever did.
- Voyage planet step. Not hard but I hate rapid-fire pausing to note planets and having to run through the map to track them. Also if you don't know that shooting the sun is a timed trigger, you can mess up the step after successfully completing it just because you didn't start the glacier rush part.
- BoTD simon says. Not hard, but I seriously hate having to play a 6 button game of simon says, having a short time limit to note the final 3 symbols, making sure not to forget the punch card (or else you have to run from spawn back to the docks), then translating the symbols, making sure you have THREE shield blasts + one more to even start the step... On a ghost who sometimes will self destruct/pull the wrong lever if you blast him slightly too late.
While I'm not super experienced with AW, I'm surprised the alternate versions of the easter eggs weren't mentioned. Like having to melee kill zombies on the first map for 50 keycards or however many without going down.
Can’t comment on AW and shaolin. The rev summoning key while buggy, is still a step that is much faster to complete than the pap reel. As for it soft locking you, there’s a way to get out of it. I unfortunately don’t remember exactly how, I’m 100% sure that a way to get out of the softlock exists. For blood, while simon days can tedious and unnecessarily punishing if failed, it only requires you to do one loop around the map. The bird step on the other hand requires multiple loops and they have to be done within 4 rounds. To me, it was the more tedious of the two. And for the planet step, I put the clock step above it mainly because of the glitch I showed in the video. Anyway I’m glad you enjoyed the video
@@zestymoon Idk about solo but in co-op I was able to fix the summoning key softlocking about 10 times in a match just by having either of us go down when the key disappeared or got stuck because the key would come to make a revive I think.
Also, I've never once experienced the Voyage clock glitch. I play on Xbox so that might be why. I hear the PC version of BO4 is... not great.
I agree with you, Zesty Moon. The dagger step on Shadowed throne really kills the momentum of the map, and the round start thing blocking the slow turning safe dial is also horrible. Although, I personally find the Roar of Sangket (shield upgrade) quest in Frozen Dawn to be worse than the Thulian Flail quest.
Im suprised you think Richtofen's side of TranZit is more annoying than Maxis. Maxis side is infuriating since you can't have perks, and the step where you have to lead the avogadro underneath the pylon is so dogshit.
First, my bad for not replying sooner. TH-cam comments aren’t getting notified well for me, so kudos to you youtube. But the reason I don’t mind the maxis side too much is that while yes, the avogadro step sucks, I’d rather do that step that takes less than 20 seconds than going for the jetgun.
@zestymoon honestly having attempted the richtofen side over 100 times solo at this point, building the jet gun feels like 20 seconds LOL
33:23 actually u can leave the apothicon during the arnies margwa step. U can’t leave while the margwas are spawned in but after u kill a trio u can leave and come back. So I like to use my max ammo challenge if I can since they’re mostly easy. Especially with multiple players one or two people will have it completed generally. Also if u do leave while the margwas are spawned in, it resets just that trio, not the entire progress. Anyways I don’t see it as that bad, and honestly killing a ton of margwas is a fun step with a bit of a challenge. Imo the worst rev step is probably finding the eggs, but really only if you’re in solo. There’s some tricky spawns and I only know all of them after doing the EE loads of times. In co op there’s an egg dup glitch though.

Oh yeah I remember blood of the dead. How could I forget? I spent 2 and half hours playing. Getting set up, doing steps and then I got to the bird step. I'd never done this before so I was heavily relying on a guide... one hour of suffering later, I made it. Oh btw, me and a friend were doing this in God mode and even then it was a fucking nightmare. When we got past the bird step we found a whole bunch of shit left to do. TWO AND A HALF HOURS IN. Then I found out the map broke and we had wasted our time. We tried everything to fix it and nothing worked. I um... I have a special hate for blood of the dead. (That guy I was playing with literally cried. He didn't even wanna do it in the first place and when I told him it was impossible it literally made him cry lol) FUCK. THAT. MAP.
This is a good look into when you engineer levels for world's first vs making something solid
I unironically love the chemistry step in Attack of the Radioactive thing. I've done it so many times It's ingrained in my memory how to do every chemical and everything is always on the way to another step so im barely ever going out of my way to grab the ingredients
From my personal experience (of attempting all of the Cold War eggs solo), the 'worst' steps in them is usually the 'run killers', i.e. the steps where you're most likely to wipe.
As such, the worst Outbreak (specifically the Operation Inversiya missile silo quest) step for me is the final boss fight (too many regular/special zombies taking your focus away from the boss combined with a time limit), and the worst for Mauer is the Safe step (I have died so many times trying to find the code pieces, or been one-shot by the zombies in the safe room because they were just waiting on top of me as I opened the safe)
Then again, the Safe step in Mauer can be skipped if you get lucky enough to get the Wonder Weapon from either the box or the challenge machine, so that might be why you didn't use that one.
These two are the only ones that stick out to me as of the 6 Easter Eggs in CW (1 for each of the 4 round-based maps and 2 in Outbreak), these 2 eggs were the only ones I couldn't solo, with Mauer being the only one I couldn't complete at all.
I will admit that I did use guides for all of these eggs, and that my Firebase Z run was pretty lucky (I got the Ray-K from the mini-easter egg which gives you a free Juggernog), so that might corrupt my results a bit.
Nah if we’re counting boss fights, the eye step on Shaolin Shuffle can straight up soft lock you. The Double packed Kendall’s don’t count, energy weapons don’t count, and if you run out of ammo you just can’t do anything about it. And instead of using your rat eye, you have to wait for Pam to show them to you and after a certain amount of beeps, they respawn. Even the hardest step in the boss fight (the heart step) can be completed with chi powers but only bullets count. On Coop it’s definitely an easy step though.

Im late to the party, but regarding mauer step 1:06:53, another problem with the tempest canister:
If you are playing co-op and not all of the player are close to the canister, the tempest can spawn at the other side of the map, giving you two options: Kill the tempest and pass a round to try again, or try to get the temest to the canister (this happened to me playing with my brother on split screen so that may be the reason why this happened everytime we did this step)
Moon excavator step sucks cuz me and my friend tried to do the Easter egg, got to that step on round 4, ended the step on round 32 when it finally decided to show up

And the power room trial in blood, thats a nightmare, the bird is tedious, the trials is literally IMPOSIBLE in solo
You could argue that the planet step is worse. I didn’t pick it though because it’s has more fun moments than the clock step, and it doesn’t suffer from a bug or glitch like the clock step. The trials being impossible is tbh, a massive exaggeration. Are they annoying? Absolutely. But I still think they aren’t as tedious as the bird step.

I only play solo and those steps felt like the worst possible
For me, it’s any step that requires you to record a video because there is no possible way you can remember everything on screen perfectly, or any step that’s just straight rng (excavators on moon). My friend and I went to round 33 the other day waiting for the right excavator for the Easter egg, and it was ALWAYS the wrong one, even when it was a 50/50 chance, it was just wrong every single time. Also, the “skewer the winged beast” step on origins (bo3) can get softlocked (found out the hard way 2 days ago), the invisible zombie still has collision and can be killed… but the devs forgot to put in a fail safe so if you kill that zombie while not in zombie blood, your game will bug out and you can’t do the easter egg, 2 hours wasted
So for the Iron Castle 2nd time travel step, it is because you are inserting a Key card on to the machine to open the box to the tablet and not interacting with the book
For the Origins staff step, I honestly find it to be the most fun Easter Egg challenge I've done.
On ztsubo no shima the reasoning for the worst step has nothing to do with the zip line ??? Huh
That stupid monster at the end of The Final Reich gave me so many problems till I finally realized that I should PAP the wall gun in the main area instead of the P90.
For the Buda room step I didn't know about the Melee weapon or bleeding out part of the glitch. When me and my friends did the easter egg we learned you had to pull the ballistic knife from the box and pack it before doing any other step of the easter egg or it will glitch. I hate Die Rise so much.

For those who don’t know you do not touch the kronorium during the DE egg you put the device you get from the safe in a device right next to the kronorium
i disagree with the zipline step being the worse step on zet,mainly because AFAIK, the challenges also need to be done for KT-4 upgrade anyway which is needed for the egg, i'd replace it with the artillery step where you need to go through 3 rounds for a 1 in 7 chance to get the shell and interacting with the artillery piece is awkward because its a small spot and there is no prompt for it
Revelations is one of my top 5 worsts for me, because if you don't know, you can glitch out teleporting with the Summoning Key if you dont walk into one during the middle of a melee animation.
I don’t remember that well, but I heard there’s a way to get out of that glitch.
@@zestymoon Either get downed or hope you get a Death Machine. But every speedrunner I see who does that map, they always melee with the key before walking into the teleporters and that seems to prevent it.
Moon: spinning the box for the gerzsch device only to trade it out for the QED to then trade those out for more gerzsch devices
The Shadows of Evil Easter egg is by far the most frustrating to me. Let me solo it!!!!!
I love making all the staves in Origins. It's such a skill check to do it as fast as possible and feels so good when you optimize it.
The slot machine step (Rain Fire) on the other hand fucking blows.
I almost exclusively play solo.
If i was a developer I would make the hardest easter egg possible just so everyone will be unable to beat it

In der eisendrache, I think the reason you can't grab the stone tablet on your first visit is because after your first time travel and opening the safe, you pick up a floppy disk. And I think you are inserting that into a machine that is next to the kronorium that everyone spams interact at.
That makes sense. But if that’s the case, then they could’ve cut that part out of the easter egg and have the slab be present from the beginning.
The darkest shore boss fight is by far the worst step in ww2 zombies having to watch 3 different videos starts to get the best chance for me and my friend to do the fight
For the decker key card step I believe you can use a thermal sight and see the key card through the ground

you can actually finish the last step with 3 players (although you still need 4 to be able to get past the ritual) we had a player once die to the margwas and we finished it with 3 people
For the Beneath The Ice code step you can find your codes hidden on the walls throughout the map, it isnt just trial and error
True, but as stanley said, you can only see them in even number rounds. On top of that, you have to end the round to get the sword pieces. So if you want to be done with the egg early, you’ll have to resort to trail and error
All the EE steps are amazing and Vanguard rocks. I was not promised money from 3arc for posting this, I swear.
