You can't interact with Tankers. To interact with Freighters you have to be within 500m of them and be going speed 1 or stopped.
Good to know. I thought you could board everyone
T2 torpedoes are free because they are crap (very short range and very high dud rate). Go with the T1. Money is never an issue in this game.
I will keep that in mind.
