IS STARLINK WORTH IT?

- After a long battle of having AT&T, Xfinity, and another third-party internet service come to the property to see if we can get a decent internet connection. AT&T said no, Xfinity said no, so we went with a third party provider that lasted us 5 days of internet per month for around $100 every month. Finally, we were sick of the internet lagging and basically not being able to do anything internet related we dropped the third-party and ordered Starlink. It came today and took me maybe 25 minutes to set up.
In this video you will see me setting up Starlink in real time and boy was it fast. I am so pleased with how it is working so far I can't keep the grin off my face.
So the question is.... Is Starlink worth it?
100% yes.
If you're in an area that gets no service whatsoever, Starlink has your back!
Yep it’s worth it. Had dsl with 20mbps. That dsl started dropping in mid use for about 5 minutes about 8 times at evenings. Had tech to come fix it. They didn’t fix it and just took 300 on a service call that was on their end. Luckily they refunded it. Starlink was installed yesterday. Had to put it on a 25 ft pole to clear obstructions. This morning in light rain I was getting 350 Mbps speed. But of course it doesn’t stay there it might drop to 80 at night but it works and it’s better than the dsl we had. Btw on Fortnite I was seeing 15 to 30 ping.
Thank you! This was very helpful! We're moving to an area in Pennsylvania with no internet service.
Starlink has your back!
We’ve had ours for a couple of months and love it!
coming in the mail tomorrow !!
Yep it’s worth it
Please people don’t worry how long it takes . You sound impatient.
But it’s worth it .
Gen two is best though
200 for down
80 for up
I put mine on a 30 foot pole
With my tv and phone booster . 😊
If I have my Gen3 setup for Residential in my home. Will it work if I take the dish and router and put it in my RV and camp in a different location than where I live? Does the app give you the ability to change locations temporarily. I dont want ROAM because I will use Starlink as my main internet at home. But I would like to take it with me the few times a year I go camping in my RV.
I don’t see why it wouldn’t work it’s all “satellite” related so you really would just need to make sure that it’s pointing in the right direction without a bunch of obstruction
since there is no contract.. you could change to roam when you are about to go on a trip... then change back to residential when you are back.. so you will only billed for one month for roam when you are on the road...
Looks like the kitty was checking out your Starlink.
Enjoy!
Dish outside, yes, no problems, router hell no safer inside.
Can I buy the dish and take it overseas then register it
Probably I’m not entirely sure but there’s travel dishes so yes sign up for online payment should be good to go
Put it on the rooftop
I did I’ll make an update video to show what I did

Does that router have Ethernet at all?
Mine came without an ethernet port so I bought the adaptor for ethernet and ran that to my router and it works like a charm. I have had it for near 12 months now and I think I have seen one outage that lasted I think maybe an hour other than that it's been flawless. I use to get at bets 7mbs and now with starlink it's more like 80 to 120mbs. Stream 4K videos without a single hiccup.
I’m looking to get one do u no if they work good in the us
Starlink Gen3 comes with two ports for ethernet connection.
Put Vaseline or some kind of lubricant on the cables so they don’t get chewed and destroyed by possums rats, cats dogs, raccoons whatever else she might have lurking about
Its crazy to me that its so expensive to pretty much be at the bottom of the bucket for performance. Its literally just only better than other satellites and lte. Even 4g would probably better if setup correctly. Once 5g is everywhere in the USA, what would be the point of owning a starlink device with those latency jitter issues. The only reason I complain is because its way overpriced for the speed. If you can get 5g, please set it up properly with an antenna and call it good.
yeah i dont know how to just get 5g and set up an antenna for wifi my cell phone has 0 service where i am. This was the best option for me as multiple big named companies denied me because i was so remote and all their sattelites were full
There's deals and when one starts, jump on one. Ours was $199.99 cdn plus $40 cdn Purolator shipped. We use it for camping.
@@Tommy_Wilson_ Yeah being remote is an issue that needs to be fixed. There have been companies saying for years they were planning on bringing fiber optic out to remote addresses. Mostly not delivering on what they said so far.
My main issue is how expensive starlink is.. $120usd or more is worth gig speeds which is there plan its just so far away. 5g towers will be everywhere soon. So that'll probably be the next best option for a while. When it does arrive.
Wrong. Starlink is a godsend for rural folks who have no better options. I suffered through dial up and Viasat for nearly 20 years before Starlink became available and it was a game changer.
@@gstar7686 Not wrong. Everything I said is still correct. Even though its your best option it shouldn't be by now. Its unfortunately so expensive to be at the bottom tier list. When 5g is available all over rural US. I'd easily switch to it. I get its all you have but that's the unfortunate problem.
Did i just here a peacock?
Yes 7 of them
His mom is dead inside
You ok?
