Work hard when you're young, live below your means, and save / invest as much as you can and you'll be able to retire early go wherever you want without having to try doing it living out of the back of a Jeep. Not that there is anything wrong with camping, but you should do it because you *want* to , not because you *have* to. I'm a retired engineer and I did my time in the cubicle rat race and now I can go anywhere in the world if I want to.

We decided to tear apart the starter the next day to see if wasn't just gunked up. We were able to bench test it and get it to work but after installation, no bueno, still would't turn Jade over. This is a beautiful spot.
A common problem is bad grounds on yj's I know I own one. Best thing to do is every couple of months clean the terminals from the battery to seloniod and to starter as well as the ground to the eng block. I have seen many people keep changing starters because of this problem.They sound like they are dieing and crank slow cleaning the ground normally fixes it. And when ever always park on a hill LOL. I bet you have jumper cables you can jump from battery straight to starter if the seloniod or the starter switch on the steering shaft ever fails.They are adjustable and I have seen them come loose slide down and then the truck won't start when you turn the key. While hitting the starter does work sometimes it is not a good idea the magnets in them can crack then it is junk. Hope this helps and good luck now you have had it appart you can easy rebuild one,I bet it will still work if you fix the grounds If it bench tested then chances are it is still good.
Freshly made tortillas are one of the greatest things life has to offer. I prefer corn, but I'd take either. Glad you're enjoying Mexico. Its a great place.

Hey Jake! just hopped on the channel here after watching your Medano Pass video. Im Jacob as well but my jeep is a 2014 JKU 2.5 in Rubi Express Lift with 33" Pro Comp A/T tires. Love the look of Jade and have been really enjoying your videos. Im an Ohio Guy but have had my jeep as far out as Yellowstone, already 100k miles on her. Maybe one day we can get a ride going and hit some fishing holes sometime but love you channel and the positive vibes! Jeep on!

Awesome to see the forgotten art of the clutch pop is still alive! One of the reasons I prefer standard transmissions! Can't do that with an automatic.

We had to do that whole hit the starter thing too on our trip down to Panama.
I had a Renult 10 that could be started with the jack handle. I had to use it once. It worked like a dream my buddies sister who I was taking to the store at the time thought it was Fresco frijoles.

Hey jake, from one jeeper to another. I would suggest looking at an wiring upgrade for your starter and all that. I can send you a link to a local place that does all of that stuff. Did it on my jeep and made a world of a diffrance.
Haha my starter just went out as well. It was one of the fastest fixes because I've pulled it twice before for other reasons lol

A push/pull start in first or reverse puts a lot of stress on the drivetrain, always best to use second gear.

Should do a water bumper mod. That would be cool to experiment with. Those bumpers take up a lot of space.. could utilize it and make it a pressurized hose pipe. With filtration too

I think you might want to make sure you have " the big three" electrical covered on Jade since starters die young in the service of the king. Your interpersonal skills serve you well...carry on!

How many miles have you put on Jade since you started and since you got the rebuilt engine?
I had a bad starter and I only had. My manual car for a week or so and I stalled and I couldn't start my car so some guy tought me how to pop start it
