- They buffed Ryu in the mini patch so it was clear Capcom thought there was at least a little room for improvement for the old main character of the Street Fighter franchise. Now, it seems they really want him to be represented in tournaments again, because the list of buffs he got was huge. Some even think that Ken might be the worst shoto now after Ryu and Akuma, even though Ken is still an extremely strong character. Could this be the season that every shoto is top tier in SF6?

Akuma is broken character now cause he is new, just like Ed was on release. better Akuma as much as you can before they patch and make him weaker.
You can't lose Fireball wars to Guile or Ryu, he has faster DI than everyone else, shoryuken is too fast and very wide hit area. His double heavy kick is BS plus all the time @@Guitar-Dog

I get like 3 giefs every 5 matches then my rank just drops like mad
I am the Gief in the sea of Akuma and when I see that friendly russian grin staring back I am filled with the utmost joy.
i was playing ranked yesterday with ed and all i got were akuma players lol, i also played ranked with manon and i got a lot of dhalsim players surprisingly.
I dont play a lot of ryu but it seems right that he is a strong character

I remember you were complaining about the button notation since the update but I found a fix for it. If you go to the move list for a character it should say “swap notation” or something like that at the bottom of your screen. Hopefully this helps
You can special cancel Ryu’s target combos into his denjin charge now. This allows for a meaty setup or two in the corner
lvl3 coming out faster when cancelled into from shoryuken is pretty big, he can end a lot more air juggles with lvl3
You should check out the Jamie buffs bro. Meaty crMP setups are pretty threatening now, especially in the corner. Medium DP, into crLK then crLP framekills sets up a good crMP meaty in the corner (credit to Kaution, I saw this on his stream). The button is just nicer to use now, especially since you can hitconfirm a 5 framer after on normal hit now. Palm buff is also nice

Funny thing about that triple Hashogeki combo at 11:20 that Nephew stole later is that it isn't really that good to begin with. It does look flashy though. After the OD Hashogeki, it's better to just wait half a sec and do the standard corner HP -> M Hashogeki -> DP juggle for more damage. I think that player was just styling a bit (or he doesn't know that this combo isn't efficient).

Yes, you could do that before. Not optimal, but funny
Hit confirm. How does one wait for hit confirm and still have time to input follow up within timing window?
Training. There's a concept training you can find at HiFight's game FOOTSIES, a minigame mode of hit confirm. Its hard, but do it daily, make it your daily training drill before going into matches. It help
If you know how to setup your own training drill in sf6 training mode, its even better
Like Nephew says from 2:00-2:30. Set the training dummy to"random block to force you to react and try it out. There are two keys to success:
1) Input the quarter circle back after every time you use the move no matter what. That way, when you see it hit, all you have to do is press KK. You can see in his input history that he's doing the QCB every time whether it's blocked or not.
2) Practice and focus. It may be hard at first, but it's possible to improve by drilling it in practice mode a bit to building your muscle memory. The confirm window is 19F, so you don't need superhuman reactions to pull it off, just practice.

Hey Nephew, what input do you use to anti air people with DP? Just the normal one or a shortcut? I'm on leverless. Do you ever go for the heavy one or the light one for the 2 frame faster startup? Thanks man
theres a brianf video where he goes over a leverless dp shortcut. Its has actually helped me get mine really consistent. I would highly recommend checking it out.
Note to editor: If you are going to put sleeping music, make sure it is not almost at the same volume as the YTuber's voice and make sure it is for a game that people want to sleep to, not a fighting game ffs.

In some situatons you can also catch people with an EX-Shoryuken right after the EX-Tatsu since many try to punish it on block

@@-__--__-_-- its one of those "minus on bitch" attacks. Forward heavy kick -> gets blocked -> EX-Tatsu anyway -> EX-DP and you'll be surprised how many get caught by it

They finally realized Ryu is still super popular and people are tired of never seeing Ryu in tournaments. I actually quit playing and watching content because my favorite character since 1993 was awful. I'm back now. Let's go.

@@SquidwardProfilePic Guile has better fireball mix-up. he is less telegraphed than Ryu imo. Guile also does considerable good damage if you learn his combo's.
@@dodang_9147 yeah they have their differences but they’re still pretty much the same, just throw fireballs and anti air. They’re not straight up clones of each other but any ryu player that thinks guile is a lame character is a hypocrite because they’re doing the same thing guile’s do, fireball fireball anti air fireball fireball occasional drive rush overhead.
