Im over 40 now, but I cant seem to embrace modern cards the way I did 30 years ago. However, oddly enough, what got me back into the hobby was chasing the 50s to 70s tops cards.
Great episode. I’m glad you came to a deal. As far as grading I won’t ever grade my cards because I don’t believe there is a 10 on any card. There is too much room for error from the manufacturer to packing out to people opening the packs to how they are stored. Too many moving parts. @cditsious trust me I know lol. I'm super lazy when it comes to listing cards. I just look over at my collection and start feeling like 'do I really wanna look thru all those right now?'. This guy I think needs to not collect anymore. It’s too much of an addiction I think when he can’t pay bills and is talking about starting back up again. Slippery slope
What a sad story. We can laugh and make fun of people that way overspent in the hobby but this is more than that . This dude lost control, and now that life circumstances have changed he actually needs the money and probably recouped 10% of the money he spent on all that This isn’t the guy going to overboard on his hobby and now cutting his losses and moving on . This is closer to the guy getting off work and spending $500 at the casino, and not being able to pay his electric bill because he totally lost control Or the happier note. That hobby shop is legit. I’m so thankful to be able to see these awesome shops I would never see without TH-cam and get to know a little bit about the owner
Great video as always. The music is so poignant…sad music with Brandon, nice music with Jim. Hope Brandon is doing ok. Jim seems like the LCS owner every town needs.
Was a C grader, now a B grader. Had a Topps Now Wemby first pick card and a Luke Hughes young guns rookie. Both looked flawless between corners and centering. Went over it with my LCS guy who does the submissions. The Wemby came back a PSA 10. But the Hughes came back an 8. Corners weren’t perfect anymore. I don’t know what happened, whether it was in shipping or handling. But I wouldn’t have sent it in if they looked like that. Next time, I’m taking photos beforehand.
Love Brandon but love how he kept trying to “degrade” resellers & that “the only people who want to buy this; are people trying to resell” When he’s a reseller himself 😂
Never degraded... simply said reselling to a reseller doesn't often work... my selling intentions was to sell to collectors, not reseller. When a reseller sells to a reseller it causes a drop in the card market.
i get anxiety when you start digging through a collection and theres a lot of junk wax, modern commons, and low level parallels. atleast there ended up being some decent stuff in there.
I buy cards already graded fantastic video helping him and his family being flexible on the price for everything total the baseball card shop and owner interaction to conclude the video awesome
Damn when I heard that story about when the guy was a kid and someone stole his red binder full of big cards man that pissed me off. Who the hell steals a kids binder full of sports cards
I have two guys that take away my commons for $12-15 per box and very happy with that. they buy around a million cards a year. dont have any idea what they do with them..
Who didn't spend during the card boom all the prices went crazy and I think most of us are hurting because most didn't hold the value they were at during the boom.
This guy is a good example of how easy it is to go wrong in the collecting world. The personal attachment to items is the biggest pitfall, lets you overvalue everything, and you want to hold because you cant get your made up fantasy number. The misses wants all this gone.... I gotta ask the misses if the price is ok. What is even going on here?
The Bird/Magic rookie wouldn't hit a 6, with the print marks and the horrible centering. Looks like a 4. I have a SGC 5 right now, has the print marks but very nicely centered that I value at $600. I'd value that one at $450 max. Think you overpaid, but if you have a buyer, that's all that matters
Would love it at the end of your videos you could give us an update of previous lots you’ve purchased. I know it would be extra work but just a thought. Thanks for the content!
Every time I watch these why do I feel sad for the people selling. I guess I relate And I'm just a empath to the money situation and it's tough not to get attached to the hobby. It's something either you have or you don't. But I get you have to separate it as a business. That's tough when you have a kind heart. Good episode as always. I look forward to these.
Love grading with PSA. Definitely the best way to increase card value in the current state lf the hobby. Trying to do two bulk submissions a month for the year and see what type of profit that yields

Hope to see some of those Locketts on the next WhatNot auction
i get anxiety when you start digging through a collection and theres a lot of junk wax, modern commons, and low level parallels. atleast there ended up being some decent stuff in there.
Funkos are tough super tough to move i see them going for a buck or 2 on what not
Yeah all the time.
I can’t see anyone wanting a Russel Wilson card
Bought a collection from a guy not long ago he had like 30 Wilson cards.
I buy cards already graded fantastic video helping him and his family being flexible on the price for everything total the baseball card shop and owner interaction to conclude the video awesome
🔥🚀 Your YT gonna ride that rocket ship to the top.
Damn when I heard that story about when the guy was a kid and someone stole his red binder full of big cards man that pissed me off. Who the hell steals a kids binder full of sports cards
No kidding. Every kid’s nightmare.
Happened to me too. My binder was stolen too, had all my sports cards and Marvel cards. I think it was my uncle that did it
You already know how I feel. ❤️ Chasing Cardboard!
I haven't Graded yet...
Eight thousand would be a steal for a collector who wants the collection. If your only in it for the money, forget about it! lol
I have two guys that take away my commons for $12-15 per box and very happy with that. they buy around a million cards a year. dont have any idea what they do with them..
A million cards a year! 😮
Nice
Ha
Who didn't spend during the card boom all the prices went crazy and I think most of us are hurting because most didn't hold the value they were at during the boom.
👍
This guy is a good example of how easy it is to go wrong in the collecting world. The personal attachment to items is the biggest pitfall, lets you overvalue everything, and you want to hold because you cant get your made up fantasy number.
The misses wants all this gone.... I gotta ask the misses if the price is ok. What is even going on here?
Ok we need a video on your thoughts about SCG being purchased.
