Clearing snow with Cub Cadet 2x 26” during Iowa blizzard 2024

Clearing a path in the backyard after discovering the llama water bucket was completely covered by 6 foot drifts. Yeah that’s right, I said llama water bucket. We have one llama.

Greetings fellow South Dakotian! I spent four years at South Dakota State University and I can say those winters are even more brutal than here. I’ll never forget when I graduated in December 2010, there was a nasty nasty blizzard.

Bought my mom one few years ago . Just had to replace auger cable due to the hook breaking on end of spring. Bought 4 to have on hand. I lubed all the cable pulleys with silicone lube so they spin easier and white lithium on other parts. Should be good to go. Think the pulleys dragging might have been issue with cable. Time will tell.

Its a cub cadet....sooo be prepared for catastrophic failure and having to buy all new guts or a new one after this winter.

I’ve been using it for a few years now and I’m good. Are they the best? Definitely not, nor do I claim them to be but it works for a supplementary snow removal machine when the old skid loader doesn’t want to start.
