    Please consider adding a sensor to the front wheel motor so when it starts spinning faster than the rear wheel it will send less power to the front wheel.

      was the rear getting any power at all ?

      Yes it was. Just gets to a point it can't push anymore. All software limitations.

    This seems very capable. I live in Georgetown Texas and this would be great for Hill Country. I hope to try one sometime.

    I would like one to use on the farm, looking at the service requirements in the user manual it will need up to nine services in 25 months! this seems a lot, since there is no engine....anybody know what is involved?

    • @SmallBikeStuff
      @SmallBikeStuff  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      A lot of the 'services' are just checking the fasteners/fixings on the bike and checking the brake pads - think of the same preventative checks you'd do on your own bike through a year of riding. If you are somewhat mechanical, the smaller service checks could easily be done yourself. The only main service is the once a year opening of the motors that needs to be done by an authorized tech.

    I am 70 years young 5’5” 160lb and have a Yamaha XT 225 mono shock rear as well I have an Ariel Rider dual suspension e-bike. I am looking for something lighter than the Xt . The suspension on the XT is far superior to the e-bike . It seems you have ridden both a dirt bike and the UBCO . How would you compare the suspension ? I ride in hilly and some sand dunes .

    I like the frame design a lot. Maybe they should do a road version for eBikes. Make the frame narrower, lose the front motor + rear suspension. Put it in the 20 inch wheel format and with pedals. Love the utility of it.

      I've always dreamed of making an UBCO extremely low and impractical, but your idea sounds much better.

    Was a fun day riding this around. It definitely has its place in a unique part of the motorcycle market and definitely won’t replace a dedicated farm bike or road bike entirely but I don’t think it has to. It’s the perfect little grocery getter, with the ability to take the off road route home.

    Very interesting bike. I wish I could try one. I live in the mountains of Mongolia (off-road) and electric bikes are very suitable for the terrain but I've never seen UBCO's sold here. Surron's are all the rage though. I've got a Surron Storm Bee (the full size enduro version). It's not 2x2 but it will go up most mountains where my skill allows. I would like something more utilitarian so I'll probably have to get a SXS (side-by-side) or a quad.

    • @SmallBikeStuff
      @SmallBikeStuff  ปีที่แล้ว

      Surron's are fun bikes! Sounds like you live in a wicked area.

      @@SmallBikeStuff Thanks for replying. My area is trail bike heaven. It starts right outside my door and continues for roughly the size of western Europe. It's the least densely populated country in the world and it's almost all rideable (think grasslands). No trails required. Make your own.
      Anyway, I just ordered the Surron Ultra Bee after a brief test-ride where I fell in love again. It seems to have the power and capability of the Storm Bee but 45kg lighter. Can't wait.

    To attain a bigger tire foot print, did you attempt to lower the tire pressures, that's f you packed a air pump?

      Yeah these dropped from 25 down to 15PSI. Could have gone lower. But it was ok for the terrain.

  • @Indeewoods

    I’m curious how steep of a hill can it climb on dry ground. Will it power out or spin tires first?
    Also are the electric motors totally water proof for a river crossing and could this thing be charged on the trail with solar panels and if so how long roughly would it take?
    No further questions lol

    • @SmallBikeStuff
      @SmallBikeStuff  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not that steep. Usually the front wheel will spin first and the rear just power out. The motors have seals but I wouldn't submerge them regularly.

    So I can understand the scale of the bike to you (and me in reality), what is your height and weight? I’m 1.83m and 110kg, would it handle that. I’m worried it might feel too small!

  • @6hobbies25
    @6hobbies25 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Does it have any kind of over amperage protection? When you were attempting to start up the hill and the rear motor is stalled, will it just burn itself up if the rider continues applying throttle that results in a wheel not moving?

    Seems like they need some sort of traction control to prevent that front wheel from spinning out so easily. They probably have a wheel stored sensor in the motor, so should be pretty easy.

    • @TAME906
      @TAME906 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually that is exactly what it was made for... Or should I say conceived for? It was designed to be equivalent to the ct90 for getting the cows in on a dairy farm. Slippery mucky conditions with a hard base and not to steep is where it is unbelievably good, but after owning a 2017 and now a Gen5 2022, I can tell you they are pretty unreal where they can go, but it is a different style of riding. If the torque to the rear wheel was doubled and the rear tire was a 120/80-14 this bike could create legends.
