@GoatPowerBikes Hi i'm thinking about buying one, I'm Five foot seven, How's that work with the seat Height would I be able to put feet on the ground?
This showed in my recs and I'm not into ebikes or anything and I went ahead and watched, and I enjoyed your review style. A lot of entertaining testing that does a great job of showing all kinds of useful info for anyone interested in this sort of thing. Some reviews/reviewers are so boring in the delivery but you definitely aren't.
I'm an e-bike builder (including a Cyclone 3000 watt mid-drive, 40amp controller, dual 52 volt packs (1st=27.2AH, 2nd=13.6ah, total 40.8ah), on 700c cyclocross bike (top speed 40mph), also have 750W mid-drive (BBS02), two 350w front hub and my fave, a 250w front hub with 22ah 36v dual packs that does everything and yet gets over 100 miles of range. I also had several motorcycles from 80cc to 750cc (Yamaha and Triumph) so am used to high speeds (but have ditched the motorycycles, and I am now a fan of e-bikes). I have viewed dozens of e-bike reviews. I have to say this is a VERY WELL DONE review (great job!) on a very well made bike (Kudos to Goat Power)! Even at $2,500, it's solid value, and If I did not already have so many e-bikes, I would be happy with this one! Given my experience with my own 3000 watt (cyclone mid-drive) bike, my comments are: 1. Even at 20AH, this 2000 watt motor, fat tire/100lb bike, 60 amp controller will likely suck the 20 amp hour (ah) pack dry within the first 20 miles (especially if you do what a bike like this really tempts you to do: ride it like a Honda 125 with the low-end grunt of a Yamaha 900 triple (basically racing cars on the street, and playing hops-scotch with buses and getting to your destination in less time it takes to drive there.) A bike like this could use a second pack (connected in parallel). Even another 15-18ah pack would really help with alleviating range anxiety on this bike (extending range by about 80% more: e.g. instead of just 20-30 miles, maybe a more practical 35-50 miles. Only problem: I can't see a place on the bike to put the 2nd pack (I don't see method of adding a rear rack and installing pannier bags to store the 2nd pack.). 2. This bike's design does not allow for seat height adjustments. I'm 5'11" (6-7" shorter than you) and it looks like even I would have difficultly pedaling and apply any real pedal assist to help extend range. 3. It's a strange thing for me in that after 4 e-bike builds and 1 bought e-bike (LECTRIC Lite 350w 48v 7.8AH- short range), my favorite is the latest build which ironically is my "smallest" bike (in terms of motor and controller) - a 250 watt, 36 volt Bafang front hub kit (14 amp controller) installed on a Trek hardtail with Marzocchi fork. This 48lb e-bike throttle only bike is a blast to ride, is super easy to pedal, reaches the e-bike 20mph speed limit with ease, eats the steepest of hills with very little effort, engaging and thrilling to ride, great/stress free pedaling/exercise, and best of all, just sips power from its packs (dual 36 volt packs totaling 22 ah), and easily gets 100 miles of range (i.e. just about zero range anxiety). With it's light weight (35lbs with batteries off), it's easy to handle and transport on regular bike rack. I hardly every ride my much heavier Cyclone 3000 watt anymore.
So the 250w must be a gear reduction motor correct ? I'm surprised it does so good on hills , are u a light rider ? I would like to build a battery saver like that but I would be afraid of getting ran over. I do have a 350w fat bike wheel and motor just sitting here collecting dust, maybe I will give it a try , maybe I will upgrade the gears to metal first, cuz I scared of the plastic ones giving out in traffic and getting ran over 😮
THAT'S NOT BALLS. THATS STUPIDITY ENDANGERING PEOPLE LIKE THAT. KIDS COULD OR PEOPLE COULD STEP OUT BETWEEN THE CARS AND HERE YOU COME FLYING AT 40 MPH ON SOMETHING THAT MAKES NO NOISE.
Very few motorcycles would use the left lever for the rear brake. Aside from a handful of bikes that have an automatic or semiautomatic transmission (and all scooters), the left lever is the clutch lever. The rear brake on a traditional motorcycle is applied by the right foot.
you are right but i think he's implying its more like a motorcycle setup because it allows his right hand to control the front brake while conventional bicycles use the left hand for the front
its not a mtorbike its a bicycle and depending on what county you are in the left and right can be front or back for legal grounds, i used to work as a bicycle mechanic in the uk and any bike i built had to have right front and left rear to be legal for sale. Some brands came like that some were opposite and i had to swap them.
@@brandon1443 What kind of motorcycle are you riding? Front brake is always right hand. Left hand is either clutch or sometimes rear brake (scooter). Right foot is rear brake and left foot is gear selector (if equipped).
THANK YOU FOR DOING THIS REVIEW!!! I just ordered the Motor Goat V3 two days ago and I am EXCITED! It comes with a 25ah battery and I ordered the 2nd battery kit for a 45ah anti-range anxiety monster. I can't wait for it to ship.

People have died at those speeds in cars, never mind a bike. And this dude drives one handed for some reason, not to mention he usually doesn't wear a helmet. It's the perfect suicide trifecta.
As a NY-er I have to say Cali looks pretty dang sweet! Especially jealous of how nice your roads and walkways are. No potholes or patches, just smooth cruising.
I have the Power Goat version. It’s so fast and fun! I also have the v1 of the Billy Goat. It was good but pales in comparison to V2. Glad they are finally getting the attention they deserve!
I've watched a fair few of your reviews after going back and forth about getting a whole as another form of transport currently saving up for a reliable vehicle. This is the first bike you've reviewed that is exactly exciting to possibly try out
Matt, You are the GOAT!! I have been checking this bike out for a while and I was waiting for you to review it. Keep up the great work, you are an asset to the Ebike community.
Great Video! I did videos about their 3 older version ebikes and all of them were amazing! I am waiting for the Motor Goat V3 to arrive soon .. Many people did not believe the bike at that price can go over 40 mph + with so many great futures on the bike..
Your riding style is the reason electric bikes are getting thrown off walking and bike paths. Keep up the great work. You're making more room for the adults in the room.
I agree. Now let's do some grownup stuff like going to a test tract or area where there are NOT civilians walking around and where riding should be encumbered by rules and regulations that protect us all. I’ve narrowed it down to this bike (Billy goat) and the Eahora Romeo Pro II. Waiting patiently for another awesome review of the later before I pull the trigger. Great work as always!
Great review, as always. Looks to be the best bang for your buck e moped/cafe racer style bike available. Definitely not the best for pedaling, bike paths or off road, but this is clearly the one to beat in the very popular e moped category. Not sure how they can claim 50mph and 50 miles of range on pedal assist considering your objective testing, but whatever, it goes really fast!
Most of these companies claim range that can only be achieved on the most conservative settings, and to be fair the sand runs, multiple torture tests on high inclines, and time spend digging holes and peeling the tires, honestly in a real world setting your likely to see closer to 25-30 miles of range just sliding around town
Love that it is DD, and has 20s, and tons of power if you need it. Slower constant speeds, DD is more efficient, and MORE reliable, less heat, no crap nylon gears inside.
Love it, love your reviews. The bike is listed at$ 2,851.00 before tax and not sure about shipping. I'm in Canada and bought the lectric expedition cargo dual battery. They ship to Canada, many don't for some reason. So the $16,099.00 xpedition with a couple hundred extras cost me $31,00.00 Canadian, but I love it. My only regret was being scared to ship anything over a 1000watts to Canada because of the 500watt law, xpedition is 750watt and I flew by cops at 30 miles an hour with no prob, I regret being worried and not getting a faster ebike, I am tempted to get the GoAt forsure if they ship, but fear the exchange rate to my liberalism infested Canada. Keep bringing the fast bike reviews before I pull the trigger Canadian costs are killing us. Cheers.
I hope you used your commas wrong. If not, i wanna know what you got for $30k lol. Ive also waited too long cuz of local laws yet I see 14 year olds driving Surrons on sidewalks with no helmets. So Im just gonna buy one and see what happens

I have a Juiced Step Thru Cruiser but thinking about getting the Wired Cruiser as a retirement gift to myself. Keep me posted on what you think about the Billy Goat vs Wired.
Sooo geeked to see you reviewing this. I’m torn between the motor goat v3, talaría x3, and apex predator. I’m leaning towards the goat v3 because it looks the most passable as a “e-bike” 👀 lol. Also I prefer it’s cafe racer styling. 2024 is the year of 60v 20+ah, congrats to those of us who held out.
Couldnt have said this better myself bro been dying to get a bike for a while and im so happy i waited til now because holy shit the bikes coming out now come no where near the stuff i was contemplating on a couple months ago! Whether it be better price or better bike stats!!
If I could go back I would get the motor goat over the billy goat, they are also making a v2 of the power goat gonna be full suspension. But yes I would get the motor goat if I could go back, the seat is not the greatest on the billy goat and you can stick a big ol powerful lithium in there
Think I have to accept eventually getting two diff types of bikes. That Freedom is too low key looking to pass up for me as a first buy for L.A. Eventually I want a moped or Sur Ron style for appropriate ride areas
Great review as always! I ordered a Motor Goat V3 with an extra battery to bring up 45am of battery power. I might get killed at 65 years old. This will be my 6th E-Bike and the fastest for sure. I strongly hate > battery lag < and realize that more battery AH means less "Lag" Thank you for the awesome video.
Amp hours doesn't correlate to "lag" or performance. It's a unit of measurement for battery capacity which translates to range. What you're referring to is the number of amps a controller can draw from a battery. The higher the amps, the more torque you'll experience, which can be perceived as less "lag". Your battery voltage dictates top speed. I hope that helps.
@@Rightgear84he's probably talking about the throttle delay you can sometimes get if your battery voltage is low. My custom built bike does it for some reason and there is a half second delay for the throttle to activate if the battery is running down.
@@danimayb probably means where your voltage is getting low and the throttle can take half a second to actually do anything. My custom built ebike with 52v battery starts doing that once I'm down to 20%.
@@danimayb yeah I don't know what it is on my bike, personally doesn't bother me. It's only when the voltage starts getting very low otherwise the throttle response is instant.
Here in the UK you would need a Motorcycle License, Insurance, MOT(Annual Inspection Check) and Road Tax as well as a Motorcycle Helmet as anything that can Exceed 15.5 MPH and more than 250 Watts is Classed as a Motorcycle.
Cool bike for sure. You are my favorite TH-cam reviewer for sure but man I worry about you when I see the highspeed, one handed speed tests on busy LA streets. Glad to see you with a helmet. Please be careful and please consider at least wearing a helmet!
Great video! It seems to be a breat bike at that price point. How does it compare to Wired Freedom? You thoughts are definately important to me. Thanks!
Well I literally just bought the bike with two extra batteries came to 3200 because the bank is like 2100 and then the extra batteries are $600 a piece so I got two extra batteries and I went with the V3 so like the biggest most powerful one what's a cool black gunmetal and it says ships like 3 to 8 days so I guess I'll have it in about a week or two and I will come back and let everyone else know what I think of it if it's a good buy or not and that will be my honest opinion so I'll be back
I don't normally preach safety.... And I sure as hell ain't starting now. This looks fun AF. My only criticism would be battery size at this price. Other than that, I need a test ride!
Its funny How the "HUFFY BIKE CO" 1970's, was way ahead of the times, for making cheap bikes, They made a more off road bike called a MONO SHOCK that this Ebike looks like exactly!!. AND IT ACTUALLY WORKED GREAT..
OH YA THEY DID! I had one and it was a BEAST. Easily 50lbs. It took a bit of effort to get it going, but oooohweeee, it was such a smooth ride. Complete with a personalized plate from Disneyland. Hah! I remember bulldozing this heavyset older lady coming out of a bar one Saturday afternoon. Went down for the ten-count while me n the monoshock celebrated our one hitter quitter. Only gripe was the seat cover started coming off way too soon. O the nostalgia.
The battery for The Billy Goat looks very similar to the battery for the 2024 Wired Freeedom. Do you know if it's compatible with the Wired Freedom? If it is, it would be a much cheaper alternative than buying an extra battery from Wired.
Great video bud! 1 constructive criticizing comment . I think the bike would have probably topped out at around 45 M.P.H if you would have been on a straight away path with no cars, or pedestrians in the way. This includes stop lights. Not a good idea to do a speed test the way you did it. For your next time around, keep in mind that when you do a speed check/test. Thanks for your insight brother!!!
Hi , I really like your videos, even if I'm a little jealous of many things in CA. We stayed at Dockweilers RV park right on the ocean in LA. We rode our bikes right on the bike trail where you make your videos. We didn't see the CA incline tho. Just wondering; I see your riding on the beach right in front of a policeman, are they as permitting with gas motorcycles?
I've been considering an ebike for my 15 mile one way commute to work but most of them are too slow. I have a lot of 2 lane state road to travel where the speed limit is 55 and with the distance I'm traveling round trip I don't want it to take hours to get to work or home. The Bandit X-Trail Pro or this one just might work for what I want.
I like your style bro! In my head, I think I would make videos like you - if I made videos LOL Also thanks for the review on the Wired Freedom. I've pre-ordered mine, and can't wait till (Late January according to Wired)
I don't think I have seen you as revved up as when you got this bike.. I do like the smaller bikes for the maneuverability.. The wider tires seam to help out as well.. Not sure about the direct drive and not sure about cadence sensor.. I am in Denver so I do have the mountains and I do have snow.. I don't necessarily need all of the speed but I do want the power and control... And I want to see what those mirrors look like on the bike... They look cool..
It really makes me nervous for you when you're holding on to your phone showing the GPS speed while riding at high speeds. Please use that second mount all the time!
Just watching you navigate through traffic and pedestrians makes me nervous as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs. And, I don't believe I've ever heard a person talk continuously, non-stop without taking a breath. Even an auctioneer will occasionally take a breath from time to time. Impressive !
The Billy Goat, Power Goat and Motor Goat are roughly the same bikes with different frames, options and maybe slightly different weight. The motor, controller and wheels are the same.
Appears to be the 52T crank gear? I missed any talk about regen (probably does regen). Maybe the axle leveraging design is of the newer large size innovation, which doesn't strip out in a year from thrust cycles (we hope)? Passenger configuration and comfort will also be a good next demo. A superb bike such as I have waited to see...
I am more interested in the Motor Goat v3, and it's 2 battery option (more for the 2x speed of charge than the added miles). I am sketched out by the recharge claims the company makes though, they say it can be "fast charged" in 4 hours. That would need a 6amp charger that they don't sell and it out of spec for a barrel charger which max at about 4-5amps before they will have problems. It would need some kind of higher app connector to get that kind of juice. What kind of connector is it? what size barrel?
Thanks for the review! I've been looking at an E Bike for a while now and was going to go with a Lectric, but I couldn't help myself after watching your video and pulled the trigger with your discount code. Ended up getting the Motor Goat v3 so I'm excited to see the similarities and differences! Thanks m8!

Given my experience with my own 3000 watt (cyclone mid-drive) bike, my comments are:
They do make a rear rack for this bike, though it's not that big
thank you for writing this and sharing, i appreciate it.

Motorcycles are left hand front brake from my experience.
@@brandon1443 What kind of motorcycle are you riding? Front brake is always right hand. Left hand is either clutch or sometimes rear brake (scooter). Right foot is rear brake and left foot is gear selector (if equipped).

Cheers.

So you think a silent missile doing 40+ mph, is brilliant in town, with pedestrians crossing the roads?
But yes I would get the motor goat if I could go back, the seat is not the greatest on the billy goat and you can stick a big ol powerful lithium in there
That has to be the coolest e-bike I’ve seen yet. If could afford an e-bike that would be the one I would definitely buy 😊

Hey THTV if you had to pick between the wired freedom and the Billy goat for speed and range which one would you pick?
So basically, this is a 20 x 4.8 shorter version of the fast Wired freedom ebike
Every day is Christmas on this channel. Love the vibe.
Just did my first ebike review for happyrun and this bike looks next level too!!
The battery for The Billy Goat looks very similar to the battery for the 2024 Wired Freeedom. Do you know if it's compatible with the Wired Freedom? If it is, it would be a much cheaper alternative than buying an extra battery from Wired.
Would love to see a review of the Motor Goat V3, and see how it compares.
It has the option of adding a 2nd battery kit for extended range.
Peace be with you😊 Oh Yeah, high powered e-bikes rule. I Like It!👍 Thanks

Hello, can u do a review on the power goat V2?
The Billy Goat, Power Goat and Motor Goat are roughly the same bikes with different frames, options and maybe slightly different weight. The motor, controller and wheels are the same.
Appears to be the 52T crank gear? I missed any talk about regen (probably does regen). Maybe the axle leveraging design is of the newer large size innovation, which doesn't strip out in a year from thrust cycles (we hope)? Passenger configuration and comfort will also be a good next demo. A superb bike such as I have waited to see...

great review. had fun watching the ride. ride safe at every speed my friend. Thanks for the efforts
