      I agree completely, people who deal with acne, rosacea - whatever it may be, often face confidence issues as well. I know for me it was extremely frustrating when I was at my worst. However, in most cases it is about shifting our own mindset, and realizing others actually don't care what our skin looks like!

    Thank you so much for this information. I just got diagnosed with rosacea and it is now clear that ive had this for over a decade and now at my worst point. My dr had denied my initial request to see a dermatologist as he felt i had shingles. I went back at month later as the pimples had now spread which is when he referred me. Thankfully a quick appointment and im so relieved to have answers. As someone who loves sitting in the sun and loves spicy foods, I can see why the flare-ups have been constant). This video was a devine intervention 😊

    Thank you for sharing your experiences. I've been using Metronidazole cream at bedtime and 20mg doxycycline 2x/day. 20mg can't kill bacteria, so no risk of overuse of antibiotics. It's an anti-enzymatic at that dosage. I use sulfur soap on any new bumps. Leave on for 2 min, then rinse. I use La Roche-Posay tinted sunscreen in the morning. The active ingredient, titanium dioxide, seems to help dry new pustules. Zinc-based sunscreens also help dry them, but I haven't found a tinted zinc sunscreen that covers as well as LRP. I wash with Vanicream at night.

    Thanks for this video! Good to hear you manage rosacea so well!Isotretinoin (oral) was the winning medication for me in the worst period of my rosacea. Pimples gone forever! Redness and flushing come and go but it's okay if you know how to live with it. IPL sessions helped a lot to get rid of sun spots I get extremely fast from sun exposure but it's painful and expensive. Now I use Skinoren - 20% azaleic acid - and tretinoin cream every day and sunscreen of course. Beauty of jeseon is like silk on your face.

My Rosacea had been pretty much under control…due to having no wine or any alcohol, no coffee or chocolate, no spicy food. However, recently my face really flared up. In my case I believe it is due to stress. I have a lot of nerve racking things going on and don’t see an end to these unfortunate circumstances. My face is actually stinging, itching and very dry. It can be really tricky - the sun is bad for rosacea, and many people don't tolerate sunscreen well! I created a shop my the link is in my description with all my favourite products listed by category. Feel free to look through it for ideas, and then come back and ask specific questions about any products. It's hard for me to recommend based on what products are available for you, your preference of mineral/chemical, preferred price point etc. I will say - sometimes opting for mineral over chemical is more tolerable by those of us with rosacea, and avoiding fragrance. Derm switched me to Metronidazole cream which hasn’t aggravated my skin but also hasn’t shown any improvement. I’m also using a prescription sulphur-based face wash (can’t recall name) which makes my face feel dry after using. I’ve got a clean diet and don’t use alcohol, caffeine, chocolate, or spicy foods. I’m a Rosacea sufferer as well. I’m 54 with oily skin. I use the Vanicream cleanser, the facial moisturizer and their facial SPF. My game changer is 15% Prescription Azaleic Acid. I use it 2x a day. If you feel tingling after using is, make sure your skin is completely DRY before applying. Unfortunately, I’m unable to use other actives, which sucks because I fight sebaceous filaments. I do get pustules and papules but my grief is broken capillaries. Anyone notice they have noticeably more on the left side of your face? It’s because that side of your face faces the window while your driving. I didn’t use spf in my younger years and now I’m living with the permanent redness and broken capillaries. I tried IPL and I don’t care what anyone says, I hurts! I have mild rosacea, and the best thing I've ever done was start using azelaic acid. (I use the Peach Slices one. It's %10 and has centella.) Before I was using it I would get flare-ups anytime I tried to use actives on my cheeks. (salicylic acid, retinoids.) The bad thing was I kinda needed to use those for my acne, so it was a bit of a cycle. Since I've introduced it I can use actives no problem, as long as i don't over do them. I have long since stopped the Soolantra treatment after having had another consultation with the dermatologist. I had a biopsy done from the affected areas to get to the root of the cause. The biopsy result came back as sun damage ( not cancerous 🙏 ) on underlying rosacea. I was prescribed a different treatment cream for the sun damage and it's also worked very well in treating the underlying rosacea.

    Thank you so much for this vital information. ❤I got prescribed Dapsone and Oracea. After 2 months on Oracea I developed Oral Candidiasis.
    They disrupted my gut microbiome. I will follow up and ask for prescription Azelaic Acid. I am gonna try Regimen Lab. I’m using a green tea moisturizer now but would like to try your recommendation.

      It is the hard part of medications isn't it? The side effects... they impact some people and not others! Let us know if you try azelaic acid, while it can take months to see meaningful results, for me - I am already noticing a difference in my skin, and can't wait to see what the next few months bring :)

      Ugh - I am so sorry to hear it; assuming you have tried all different kinds? Mineral vs chemical; maybe even Korean/Japanese (they use different chemical filters than N. America, but not sure where you are from?)?

    What sunscreen is good for rosacea?

    • @ChristaEvelyn
      @ChristaEvelyn  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sunscreen is highly variable, people have such individualized tastes when it comes to them. Some doctors/derms recommend mineral sunscreens over chemical ones, but I have had no issue with chemical sunscreens myself. My faves tend to be Korean sunscreens, and I did a video covering some of my faves here: th-cam.com/video/pacXVsMk9iM/w-d-xo.html

    Can I use vitamine c serum + Metronidazol gel in the morning and Metronidazol + Azaleic acid in the evening? Please help! I was recently diagnosed with Rosacea and have a lot of papels and pustels. I am so ashamed.

      I am sorry to hear you are going through this - believe me- I completely understand how frustrating it is. I am not able to speak to whether you should mix them - I don't believe there are any negative interactions between the two - but instead I can just give you my experience. When I used metronidazol - I cleared out my routine to just the basics. Cleanse, metronidazol, moisturizer (and sunscreen in the AM). I did this for about 2 weeks to see the difference in my skin, and then started reverting back to my regular skincare routines using vitamin c in the am and retinol, other products in the pm. The prescription azelaic acid (finacea) that I am using now has been amazing to keep my rosacea at bay. I really need to do a 6 month follow up video on that topic!

      @ChristaEvelyn  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I can use both chemical and mineral sunscreens with no issue, but some dermatologists recommend people with rosacea sticking with mineral sunscreens. At the end of the day - whatever sunscreen you are most likely to like and use, that fits in your budget - is really the best option!
      I tend to favour Korean sunscreens, I did a video reviewing my top 10 in case you missed it here: th-cam.com/video/pacXVsMk9iM/w-d-xo.html
