  • One of the biggest triggers for redness is using the wrong skincare - something I imagine every rosacea sufferer knows (myself included) firsthand. But when you get it right, it has a powerfully calming effect, reducing flares and their severity. It can even alter disease progression.
    In today’s video, I explain why I think azelaic acid is utterly brilliant when it comes to managing your rosacea and share some of my favourite products which showcase its benefits. This video wouldn’t have been possible 5 years ago as there simply weren’t any products available over the counter with this subtle skincare superhero. I’m delighted to say that things are very different now!
    As always, thank you so much for watching and for all your support!

    I was binge watching your rosacea videos (I've been going through a flare up) and suddenly see that you posted this only 3 hours ago! Perfect timing. :)

    I absolutely adore your channel! I am 28 years old and have suffered with acne rosacea for the last 3 years after having troubles with my gut. I ended up having bowel surgery and I believe this triggered my skin condition! I've always had sensitive skin but never in my life suffered with acne until 3 years ago. I tried everything from antibiotics to acne topical creams, even doing a years course of Roaccutane. It was a temporary fix. I am not using Skinoren 20% azealic acid each night and have just purchased your brightly serum and moisturiser which I plan to use every morning. I am looking forward to introducing Niacinamide into my routine as Azealic acid has been a god send. My skin is not great and when it flares, it flares. But, I am so so happy for your videos and tips. You have helped me more than anyone else! Thank you x

    Love both brightly and nightly which keep my rosacea in check. Azelaic acid the best ingredient, was on finacea 15% for a long time and now use it with nightly on alternative nights.

    Do you have a routine for all these ingredients and when to introduce? let's say we started ivermectin , when do we introduce retinol? and together?

    Such a useful video!
    What do you think of metronidazole for treating rosacea? Some prescribe it in alternating days with ivermectin.
    And should someone with rosacea stick only to retinol or is tretinoin a good option as well?

    Great advice as usual. Not sure if I am using too much with Nightly Pro at night and azelaic acid (Finacea) in the morning and lots of Flawless Moisturiser. It seems ok so far but only a week or so in. 🤞

    I have rosacea and I used azelaic acid serum 15% from facetheory for some months now. Unfortunalety it stings my face and I can barely suffer it. On my cheeks where I get redness I dont use it anymore. Could it be that 15% is too much? It is very sad for me because everybody recommends azelaic acid for rosacea, yet for me does not work. I would greatly appreciate your answer 🌹

Ive been using now the azeclair which they claim they same function as azelaic but still having redness and using also snail mucin..though my skin has improved but then I still have redness...do you have any advice on this?

    I have very small broken capillaries on my nose but no pimples or pustules - so I guess I don't have full rosacea. The area is very sensitive however and gets inflamed looking easily. Would Azelaic help this or just make it more inflamed? Thanks for the great videos!

      Hi Alice. Vascular lesions from rosacea such as blood vessels would better benefit from topical vasoconstrictors such Rhofade. You may also discuss with your dermatologist the benefit of pulse dye laser that specifically target blood vessels because they attack the hemoglobin. As a fellow rosacea sufferer, these are the things that have helped me. Best of luck!

    • @prophysix
      @prophysix ปีที่แล้ว +2

      azelaic acid is unlikely to make the capillaries you already have go away (lasers are best for that as someone else has said) but it is said that AA helps strengthen skin / make it less sensitive so it could be worth a try to prevent sensitivity and maybe future capillaries!

    Hello Dr.Sam🙂can duac gel be used indefinitely? its one thing that has transformed my skin for the better and benzoyl peroxide alone isn't as good. Since it has benzoyl peroxide in it, is it safe to use duac as a life long treatment?

    • @moki1999
      @moki1999 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm positive that it should not be used indefinitely because the acne will become resistant to the antibiotic in duac. Best for short-term treatment when your skin is really bad and using others like benzoyl peroxide, azelaic acid, retinoids to maintain your skin

    Hey friend! If you're dealing with redness and rosacea, I highly recommend trying out the DermalMD Rosacea Serum. It's formulated with natural ingredients like green tea extract and licorice root extract to calm and soothe the skin, and has been a game-changer in reducing my redness. Give it a try, and don't forget to always patch test before applying any new skincare product.

      Pulse dye laser works great for vascular rosacea such as blood vessels under the skin. Discuss with your dermatologist whether your particular redness is better treated by intense pulse light laser or pulse dye laser as these are not the same.

    Thanks so much for your videos - I've had rosacea since the birth of my first child (19 yrs). After his birth, I was on heavy steroid creams for severe PUPPPs. That triggered severe rosacea, which I initially controlled with hydrocortisone (which made things worse, as I learned later - went cold turkey and it took months before my face stopped looking like a pizza). I have redness, ocular rosacea, pustules, some telangiectasia, and it's worst on my nose (which sometimes swells too). I am allergic to tetracyclines, can't use metronidazole (MetroGel) as my skin is too sensitive. I do use Noritate every few days, and that seems to keep it down. My nose is still very red, though. For a long time, I pretty much gave up after trying a bunch of things that didn't work. Learned about Soolangra (Ivermectin) during COVID, but it was impossible to get, and my doctor wouldn't prescribe it (too many idiots taking it for COVID, I guess). Yesterday, I happened to see a video on rosacea - and that led me to your videos. I've realized that I've controlled the rosacea by staying ENTIRELY out of the sun - for years - and using a foundation with SPF. Didn't even realize I was doing it, until I saw your videos as well as some others pointing out the need to prevent sun damage. I'm hopeful that azelaic acid and some of your other suggestions will work for me. Very encouraging. Thank you so much!

    And azelaic acid (10% or 15%) at night + soolantra + moisturizer with céramides, centella, etc

      she says in another video that she tends to start people who are actively flaring up on azelaic acid twice a day and this is what most of the trials that show improvement do as well, so you might want to add AA to your morning routine as well! it's fine to use together with niacinamide so you don't have to take that out if you feel like it's doing something for you.
