I just recently had red spots around my cheeks and my derm said it might be rosacea or perioral dermatitis. I came across your video and started to use the la roche posay moisturizer you mentioned and also using the sunscreen of that same line. It’s been helping a lot calming my skin down, so thank you for your recommendations! 🙏

Thank you for this informative video on managing rosacea, it's so helpful to hear from a dermatologist like you. I've been struggling with rosacea for a while and have found that DermalMD Rosacea Serum has been incredibly effective in reducing the redness and inflammation on my skin. It's great to see a product that's dermatologist-approved and specifically formulated for rosacea. Thank you again for the tips and recommendations!

I hadn't had major flushing on my neck and chest for years with small pustules on occasion. It didn't bother me so I never saw a Dr. Unfortunately I starter experiencing styes almost weekly a year ago that progressed into blepharitis them chalazions that won't go away. Spent tons of time and money trying to treat them and finally went to see an ophthalmologist instead of an optometrist and was diagnosed with Ocular Rosacea. Thank you for the in-depth information. You're helping so many people!

Both Avene and La Roche Posay have excellent ranges for rosacea (anti rogue). Both creams have the same active ingredient- Ruscus extract. Excellent for shrinking blood vessels and controlling general redness. Avene’s product is good for day time (light) and La Roche Posay for night time (think & shiny). Avene has a great cleanser in the collection. Given to me by y dermatologist, highly recommend.

Colorscience has a tinted physical sunscreen specifically designed for people with rosacea, called All Calm. I really like it. It is the only sunscreen I have ever used that doesn't sting. And it works well as a foundation, it is the only skin makeup I use now. It's expensive but well worth it for the improvement I have seen in my skin and the quality sun protection it provides. Highly recommend. I even use it as a foundation for nightime events now, it works so well as basic makeup.

I have had rocescia since I was 15 (30 now). My holy grail is the Avené redness concentrate. If I was only allowed one rosacea product, that would be it! :) It is a bit pricey, but if I use it consistently, I really see the difference. I use it periodically, 1-2 times per day, depending on the redness, and how well I have been taking care of my skin. I usually see a fairly big difference within a week or two.
Another thing I am experimenting with is an almond oil/sugar scrub. I made one a few months ago (just brown sugar and enough almond oil to get a scrub consistency). I used it in the shower, and after that, I used a body shampoo as normal. My skin went silky soft, and it did seem to affect the red dots on my arms a little. I will try to do this 2-4 times a month (depending on my skin, and if it is possible), and see if it will improve further.
I really need to get better about skincare in general.

I have been using the aveeno calm + restore gel moisturizer for almost 2 years and love it, but the doxy seems to be drying out my skin and with fall and colder temps, my skin is dry and itchy. Thank you thank you for sharing this video. Really got me to thinking in trying some new products form what you have shared. Especially since I’m still trying to find a good one that I like for my moisturizing routine.
I have used vanicream cleanser and I love it! I have used Cerave before to even Dermatologica calming serum and moisturizer to even their spray. I didn’t really enjoy the Cerave cleansers it felt kinda harsh. As for the Dermatologica brand it was good but not great. It had a nice lavender scent very calming. I have even tried one that I found a natural chamomile petal scrum by SpaLife. That one was good as well just like the Dermatologica brand.
I just started using the Vitamin C serum by L’Oreal (12%) it’s not but at all. I do notice my skin much more bright then how it looked before. I don’t use it every day on the L’Oréal I do it every other day or at night. Just because I love the scent and calming feel from the spa life or Dermatologica beand.
The moisturizer cream that I’m using right now is the Aveno brand called Aveno calm and restore redness relief moisturizing cream. It’s has a nice sent of oatmeal. It’s has a thick and creamy texture but absorbs nicely to my dry/sensitive skin. It’s doesn’t control the redness but it’s nice on the skin.
My favorite sunblock would have to be again by Aveno hydrate and protect sunscreen spf 60. It’s about $10 at the drug store. It has this light weight goes on nice doesn’t leave the white residue goes on clean. It really feels hydrated to the skin as well. Definitely a favorite of mine. I use it on my arms, legs to even my face. I use to by one by Cerave sunblock that would tint to my skin but that product got discontinued. I have tried the original store brand sunblock (by HEB drugstore) and it was ok. I don’t like how it felt on my skin and looked kinda white. But I would rather wear sunblock to nothing at all due bc like you said of rosacea. I even try to wear a cap when I’m out or at work (even having on sunblock). I need to do better on replying sunscreen/sunblock but doing my best on that part. Thanks again for this video! Continue to share your tip and videoed on skin care. Love your channel and videos!

I have rosacea but it seems to get better with acids. My skin seem to love them. I only use them a couple of times a week to protect my barrier but it works. I make sure i keep my skin well hydrated at all times. I suffer from autoimmune arthritis as well so it seems i have a tendency to inflamation based conditions.
One thing that works really well as well for me is staying away from sugar. It is "toxic" for me. Sends my CRP through the roof.

🙇🙏 Thank you! I was misdiagnosed as having acne by my GP for a decade and put on harsh topicals and tea tree oil products (worse and worse). I visited my derm first time in my 30s. She told me it's not acne and put me on metronidazole and oral minocycline as well as rosacea skincare education for 3 months. My face just became clear like that (wanting it for my entire life) 😭. It's been 2 years and my skin has never been better (nearly no flareups). Correct diagnosis by expert like you is beyond important! I use Aveeno products (the triple oat serum is a bless) #OatIn and my rosacea is very happy with them. #Calming #Soothing Love you and thank you, doc!

I have rosacea type 1 and 2 (erythematotelangiectatic and papulopustular,) with a Fitzgerald type IV skin tone. I started to get it a few years ago when I was 29 and went on accutane. My derm said accutane does not trigger rosacea, but I didn't have rosacea at all until I went on accutane. In fact, it was misdiagnosed as retinoid dermatitis the entire time I was on accutane. The only moisturizer that has helped is a Korean one, the Aestura Atobarrier 365 cream (not the hydro soothing cream, which I found to be too light.) I keep going back to it. It helps so much with my eczema and with healing allergic skin reactions, too. I used to like the Skinfix Redness Recovery mask, until I realized it has a fragrant plant extract that I am allergic to (rosa damascena flower water) and it was irritating my skin because of that.
For whatever reason, spicy food and chocolate do not affect my rosacea at all. The only thing that seems to irritate it is heat and allergic reactions. In talking to other people with rosacea, it seems like spicy food seems to affect white Europeans with rosacea and not people of color. I'm sure that's not true in all cases, but I'm South Asian and I've eaten spicy food my whole life. It doesn't seem to affect my skin at all.

I feel like I always have such tough skin to help. I have rosacea and mostly everything stings and burns or makes my face feel hot. I have only found a couple products that don’t do that. Plus I struggle with hormonal acne. I’ve had prescription azelaic acid and it just made my whole face feel itchy all night. It was super uncomfortable. I stopped and noticed that it wasn’t really doing anything for me anyways. It’s frustrating. I get the flushing. My eyes get red and I get styes every now and then and I also get the red bumps on my nose (especially on my nose since it’s always red). So far cetaphil gentle cleanser and the moisturizing cream are the only products that don’t give me flushing when using them.

But I go through so much of it because I think I need something a little richer at night - so I’m trying Susanne Kaufmann’s Nourishing Rich Cream which is their recommended moisturiser for rosacea. Big bonus is both these creams smell amazing. I am also trying SK’s Protection Serum also their rosacea specific product. It feels a little “active” when first applied - not a burn but not as comfortable as the moisturisers but it goes quickly (in about a minute)

I have had the redness for years, but recently my rosacea has progressed to having a pimples and even lumps on my nose. It’s really disturbing, can be painful. But while at the same time I’ve been undergoing surgery for my cataracts, I developed a sudden violent burning in my eyes that lasts for sometimes up to a half hour, usually when one eye at a time. Makes driving rather dangerous until I can get pulled over, it was only recently that I discovered that it could be a result of the rosacea spreading to my eyes. And probably had nothing to do with the cataract surgery. I’m waiting on a referral to a dermatologist from my primary care doctor. I have been using CeraVe, having read that you are only supposed to use a mild skin cleanser. I don’t know what else I am doing wrong though. Hopefully I will get some good results from a dermatologist, I’m getting tired of looking like WC Fields. One more thing, when you need to use foundation to cover your ugly skin, how do you keep reapplying sunblock?

Also, have you looked into Azaleic Acid 15% gel? Do some research on it, but everywhere I look, Azaleic acid is recommended for rosacea. I’m acne prone and have been diagnosed with rosacea recently. The cream version from The Ordinary broke me out, but I just came across the gel at 15% for my ultra sensitive skin that kept breaking out into hundreds of tiny pustules, PLUS cystic acne. I was given a Rx for Seysara (antibiotic) and was put on spironolactone as well.
In order to calm my skin down, I strictly used Vanicream “Moisturizing Cream” for about 2 weeks, along with oil cleansing with organic hemp seed oil, washing off with Dermalogica “Special Cleansing Gel” (no wash cloths, only hands) both morning and night, and then I introduced the Azaleic Acid gel Rx I got from my dermatologist. I’ve been using the Azaleic Acid, then La Roche Posay Cicaplast Balm B5, then Vanicream Moisturizing Cream to seal it all in. My skin’s texture has been coming back, thankfully. You might want to try the La Roche Posay Cicaplast Balm B5 first, and then the Azaleic acid, but do what feels best for you. I hope this helps.🙏🏽

Similar to me. Actually I discovered my skin type by accident. I always thougt I have problematic skin and I had really bad acne for many years. Even my 1st dermatologist said, I have acne because I have oily skin. So I continue to use strong anti acne products. But my face still looked bad. One day, arriving home late at night, I was too lazy to wash my face and apply cream. So I only cleansed my face with Bioderma Sensibio micellar water. Bought it only because of hype on social media. 😄In the morning, I thought I would better not see myself in the mirror, but as a surprise, my face looked really good, clean and radiant, no new bumps had appeared. So I started using it every day. Bought also gel wash and cream. All for sensitive skin. Bioderma Sensibio cream was not the best option for my skin (still much better than those who I used before), and switched to another. But I finally stopped my acne from that day in few weeks, because I started to use right products and stopped to torture my skin.

The Paula’s Choice Azelaic Acid Boost did not help my rosacea - in fact I had less redness when I stopped using it. Not using anything for rosacea right now - just doing my regular skin care routine that includes a retinol at night and a 10% vitamin C serum by Timeless each morning. (In addition to moisturizers and sunscreen.)

Dermatologists tend to recommend an OTC azelaic acid, around 10%, slowly introduced to your routine, paired with a really calming moisturizer. Keep in mind that when you use acids, you HAVE to use a really good mineral SPF in order to not further damage the skin. You might be able to get away with a chemical one, but rosacea tends to make your skin more reactive to those chemical sunscreens.

I never thought I had rosaca but the last year my nose always is red and my ears are always red. My cheeks sometimes get red but not like my nose and ears daily. Over the last year with this happening I have got broken capillaries all over my nose and some on my cheeks nothing seems to help. I don't want broken capillaries all over my nose it makes me sad. I'm not able to afford to get lazor done. I have been taking care of my skin wear sunscreen and everything but it just keeps getting worse

Is there a purging period when it comes to the La Roche Posay Toleriane Double Repair mositurizer spf 30? I noticed it cleared A LOT of redness on my top cheeks but the middle of my cheeks developed small clusters of pimples. I don't know if thats purge or what? My skin did feel tender and super sensitive all day but the next day while the pimple clusters and some redness was still there, it seemed better.
I would really like the feedback!!!

My skin is soft and hydrated. I have rosacea combo skin so I’m a little complicated! But my skin is reacting better now? Idk!

"Where do they come from?" Everyone has them. I read a national geographic article about the human genetics/susceptibility involved but it's behind a pay wall now. Very interesting. They come out at night and eat skin oils and hide during the day in our pores. This is why some people get the pustules, at least in my n=1 study. I don't do this anymore and I anticipate flack, but I added a super conservative drop of tea tree oil in my moisturizer for a year or so and now I no longer get the pustules. This is also why ivermectin works for some people. And yes, there is prescription ivermectin available it's called soolantra.
      Edit:auto correct spelling
