the thing is: having "no warning signs" after the amount of abuse he received in childhood seems like.... a warning sign in and of itself, you know?
that was my thought. rarely do children come out well adjusted, the ones who do have a good support system outside of their homes and we know that isn't the case with this man. reactions to abuse are completely normal, being angry, lashing out, being upset, theyre all normal (although not healthy coping mechanisms, but normal responses to trauma) so when Eleanor said this guy seemed pretty normal I was like uh oh this kid is actually really messed up because he has no reaction at all

Personally, I don't think he got an actual ego as we all know it. The years of abuse and bullying most likely crippled his self-esteem and he found a way to boost his confidence in bodybuilding and showing off, so he ended up over-indulging and that made him look like he had an ego.

something I love about Eleanor that I've made it a must when looking other true crime youtubers is the fact that she can genuinely feel sad and empathy for the child but show no mercy to the killer that child turns to be.
And I think that's a really important trait in this field when you are talking about really serious and traumatic subjects that this crimes are.

I like how Eleanor successfully conveys a sympathetic tone for the upbringing of even the killers etc initially then condemns them later on for their crimes. You really feel like she feels for their struggle whereas with other TH-camrs they're pretty robotic and just want to talk about the crimes.

Ya I can totally agree with you on that. I personally HATE when there’s part 2 or part 3 videos on the same story. I’d prefer one long video covering everything vs having to wait for another part to the story to be uploaded. Because by the time the next part is uploaded, I have completely lost interest in the story and I’d have to start all over at part 1 to refresh. It’s just too much of a hassle. If there HAS to be different parts (which there never has to be but whatevs lol) to 1 story, then I just wait until all the parts have been uploaded to even start it. 🤷🏼♀️

I was a huge fan for a long time, he mostly did makeup videos but he started doing true crime makeup vids like Bailey Sarian and I unsubbed after his first one. He does “suspish shots” so anytime something is suspicious he takes a drink which idk might not be a big deal for a lot of people but it felt so wrong to me, at one point in the video he says “I don’t know if that’s suspicious but we need an excuse to drink” as if he’s not talking about a very real person’s murder. sorry for the novel, shit did not sit right with me

You should definitely do a video about David Parker Ray from New Mexico in the U.S. He is also known as The Toy Box Killer. Definitely an upsetting case. However, truly interesting. I would certainly give trigger warnings. This case is not for everyone.
