Dang! I've been trying to create a memory game in Excel and I keep crashing cause I'm trying to set it up with some dynamic images and the memory it uses is huge. This would make it so much easier. I can't wait for this to come out.
I am excited for this one, but a little disappointed it seems to be pulling just from the web. Is there not an option for an imbedded image that is still inside the cell?
Very very interesting. I got into all sorts of bloat trouble with a huge colour scheme spreadsheet last year. Is this an efficient way to include images?
Office insiders is Office 365 that gets sooner updates before they are released publicly. It's the beta channel where Microsoft also monitors feedback to see if there are any bugs and if they should tweak something before they publicly release it. Anyone can join Office insiders if they have a 365 account.
Where would it be safe to store the images on the web so the link won't suddenly expire and become unuseable when it changes or the source platform disappears?
This is copied from Google sheets (unless Google copied it elsewhere). I am using this to share product lists and have a better impression of the items in it. Good to have this in Excel now, too.
As usual MS adds a good function that has strange limitations. Why does it have to be a web image? If they can do that why not allow insertion of local images into cells the Same way? Even better, embedded rather than linked. THAT would be a logical and useful tool.
Found it. Under "Excel options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Privacy Options > Privacy Settings" turn on both "Turn on experiences that analyze your content" and "Turn on experiences that download online content". Restart Excel, I had to wait about 5-10 minutes to start working. Don't know why.
Thanks for the drop, what version are you using, am on the latest version 2208 15601.20148 though dont seem to have this function, hope its on the next update.
Nice to have, especially since regular images in tables are broken! Unfortunately, it can't be a link to a local file, but I guess I can store my pictures on OneDrive.
Ah, explains why I had to keep the then Oracle Open Source version of Excel, which now has transformed into Google LLC free and paid Open Source versions. if you find a soln that involves import/export of Excel file using Google LLC product then resaving as embedded images within Excel let me know!
I tried this today, but it gave a "#name" error. Image link was in column G, image formula in column h. used formula =image(G2)
Not quite sure how, or when, I will use this feature, but someday down the road I will use it and think, "... thank you, Leila ..."
As always thank you for sharing 🙏
Love this function! Just wished it worked with onedrive URL links
Is there any separate procedure to enable this function/formula because in normal excel I can not see this formula?
Never a dull tutorial from you, Leila! Thank you!🙂
Please figure out something for dynamic QR code in ms excel just like you taught in Google Sheets course :)
Great.... Does it open the ability to put QR code there? Like in Google Sheets? Maybe using Google QR code URL? 🤔💡
That would be cool. I haven't tested that.
Interesting I suppose it will come with some update. Today I have not that function
Excellent! Thanks.
Another great one ! Where do you find the mention and description of those news functions ? I can't find them in the official insider release notes.

Love all your videos!!!! Thank you
You are so welcome! Thank you.
it seems like it enlarge the image while to pause the cursor, how do you do that? super thanks for everything.
Nice tips
FINALLY!!!
This has been one of my favourite Google Sheets functions for years. Why did it take Mickeysoft this long?
Good question 🤔
Leila is teasing us! 😊
😊
@@LeilaGharani would you like to give us some tips about MS Project, if you work with this software?
@@LeilaGharani how can I ask questions about your training?
You are great as usual i like your presentations
Very very interesting. I got into all sorts of bloat trouble with a huge colour scheme spreadsheet last year. Is this an efficient way to include images?
I still have to test with lots of images but I think it's definitely better than inserting large images on the grid.
Excellent, looking forward to getting it, thanks Leila!
Nice
is this formula available in office 2021
So cool
Pretty cool but didn’t try, does it work in an « official excel table » as you usually name it Leila?
Interesting. What’s the value of this over pasting image?
This makes the image part of the cell which allows you to sort, add cells, etc.
Hi, how to align the image in a cell?
Animated gifs in Outlook emails… them I’m happy
Dear mam, which category use you?
Thanks, Leila, What is office insiders ??

Super 👌
Does image return true if the image exist and false if it doesn't? (meaning can I do iferror(image(url1), image(url2))?
Cannot find in office 365. Need update??
Where would it be safe to store the images on the web so the link won't suddenly expire and become unuseable when it changes or the source platform disappears?
Your own github would probably be the best solution
Is this like webservice() point accepting http(s)? Or Dore it work with file:// also
It doesnot work for local files.why?
Any contest?
only in office365? or regular excel can work too?
Only in Office 365.

베리굿!
I got #BLOCKED! instead of the actual image. How can I fix that?

It's still in Beta. You have to join Office Insider to get it now.
Add RegExp functions and then Excel will be completed, at least for me 😛
Yeah we definitely need way better string manipulation functions

Hi, Google Sheets
Only https as source? Oh no :-)
it did not work, actually. Is it beta?
I did not find the function, in fact.
It's in beta. It will in beta for some time before it's rolled out to general.

What to do if you are an outsider?😒
You can become an insider 😉. It's free for anyone with Office 365.
@@LeilaGharani Oh, it's so pitty that 2021 doesnt participate in insider program. :( So, i have to just wait for next update...
Wooow
