    Have you ever noticed in Shane’s lessons, he can play a few bars and we hear the song right away. This lesson tells us why , just an extraordinary sense of rhythm. So much talent no doubt but also hard work over many years . We are lucky to have him sharing his techniques and love of the instrument. It always comes through. Thxs Shane.

    I've been looking around for a guy to teach me how to strum with a pick and you're the best I've found and I will stick with your lessons. I always played with just my hands and I am just starting to force myself to learn how to use a pic... the trouble has been holding on to it without having it fall inside the guitar hole. I decided to start learning how to hold the pick and get used to it. I like the way you taught your first lesson, I followed along and made me subscribe and give you a big thumbs up😊

    All that strumming on the G reminded me of Pink Houses by John Cougar Mellencamp.
    So now I have to go work on that. Luckily I know a great TH-cam guitar teacher who has released a pair of videos, one that teaches the technique and one that lets you play along... 🙂
    I just wish I could switch from the G chord to the C chord with any kind of reliability or speed. My fingers stumble all over each other in that switch. Literally have to do one finger at a time. Very frustrating.
    Any possibility of your making a video about chord *change* techniques? I can play any chord you show us, but it's the switching between them that often flubs me up.

    I assume the Beat Buddy is going through an amp ? Is there any recommendation ( for us with just an unamplified acoustic) for a similar app for an iPad / phone or computer?
    Your videos are always clean and your repetition of steps make your lessons achievable for us “not natural musicians”. Many thanks from an elder Australian guitar player/ learner.

    • @GuitarAtWork
      @GuitarAtWork  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Great question indeed. It varies from person to person - but generally speaking, anchor your right arm just below your elbow on the guitar. Then strum with a combination of forearm and wrist. Hope helpful. Cheers, Shane

      Ideally a small mixer. 4 or 6 channel so you have some room to expand later on. A pair of small, powered speakers to connect to mixer and you’re in business. You can plug it directly into an amp if you have to - but better in stereo through a mixer. Cheers, Shane

    • @GuitarAtWork
      @GuitarAtWork  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Erik, great question. We should eventually be able to switch chords without looking (for the most part at least….except for big position shifts where you’re jumping multiple frets). Give it a go with some of your easiest chords. And, if you make a mistake try to keep strumming and ‘fix it on the fly’. We all need to get used to doing that. Cheers, Shane
