I learned Travis picking many years ago. I'm so glad I put in the effort. I use it in many songs - even if the original uses a different pattern. In many cases it's close enough. Learning these patterns is so worth it. Thanks
I appreciate how you give many patterns, and you also show us what mistakes to avoid. I can watch this video many times over and get so much out of it each time.😊
So essential! This is something I really needed, and it benefits anyone learning fingerpicking. And emphasizing the cluster and the displace helps immensely. It's so easy to just sit on a pattern and not move on from it. Thanks!
Fabulous - thank you SO much Frank - that is exactly what I am trying to get across on this video. I appreciate you taking the time to comment - Cheers! Shane
I came across your channel labout 2 weeks ago. I haven't played a guitar in about 40 years. Because I enjoy your videos, the ease of your teaching method, your love of playing and teaching I went out and bought a guitar. I'm working the videos of Eagles stuff. I will join your patreon once the pain in my fingers get use to the strings 😂😂 Thank you
Thank you so much for this very thorough, interesting and informative video. I love your teaching style. It is like sitting with a buddy who knows what he’s talking about?👍👍
Yea this stuff for sure takes time and you can just pick it over allllll notes so i love that. And you can never really practice enough. lol I need to really learn to relax my arms and hands, sometimes i feel like im to tensed up.
Thanks Shane! SUGGESTION - Can you please do a tutorial of BOOM BOOM by Hooker or Clapton? I know there are several tutorials out there, but I love your videos!
Wow did you go to broadcasting school or work in radio? Your voice strikes me that there was something like that in your past.... had a run in with some glass and never really messed with FP too much cause of the nerve damage but fun to start working on it!
Any chance you could do a breakdown of James Burton's lead guitar work as well as the acoustic guitar chords on the studio version of Judy Collin's Someday Soon found on her Who Knows Where the Time Goes album? Thanks to her voice, Buddy Emmon's pedal steel and Burton's lead fills and solo this was a massive hit for Collins and helped get Country Rock started. Although you can find vids about Emmon's Steel parts, NOBODY has ever discussed Burton's stuff ... and it only appears on this record.

Hey Shane. Miss you man. Think of you often.
Your studio looks so dark now with the new low lighting.
Too cute
