I think the logic is to keep the spine and joints in as aligned a position as possible - aka if you sleep on your side, something in between your knees will reduce the pressure on your hips. That’s how I thought about it when I was sorting out my sleep position. I use one of those ergonomic curved pillows for my head and hug two squishier pillows like he described in the vid (I’ve also used a rolled up blanket or even clothes) and I haven’t had all the back and neck pain since.
But then you have to move and reposition the pillow every time you roll to the other side which is disruptive for not only yourself but also your bed partner.
I use a full body pillow to hug and put between my legs. Pillow usually shifts out from my legs, but I'm left with my arms hugging pillow. Should I not use a body pillow because of this?
I’ve been having a lot of issues with my hips. One side more than other is worse. Could this be because I sleep on that side 90% of the time? I only really alternate if I can’t sleep/get comfy on that side I will switch over to the other otherwise I sleep on my left side like 90% of the time
This position sucks it's way worse than sleeping in your stomach my freaking shoulders always hurt when I sleep in this position maybe if your a 120ib girl it will work not a 250ib man so nope I am sleeping in my stomach
The problem I have is my hand goes to sleep if I’m lying directly on my side.
Plus the arm your sleeping on around your neck and your other arm infront of your face.
That will prevent your hand from falling asleep.
This is genius. Absolutely love him.
Instead of a pillow, may I suggest a big Squishmellow
Agreed!!
Yes!
Just realised he is also hunch back😂😂😂
Thank you very much for this. I hope you have a good day and stay safe!
Been doing this naturally my whole life
There is so much conflicting information on sleep position. One said side sleeping is also bad. Just tell me what is a good sleep position please.
Seriously I just want want to stop waking up in pain.

Side sleeping is good. And depending on your religion, it is a must. Science backs it up.
@@Seancar4Religion? What do you mean? 🤔
Hug the pillow the long way..like it lines your arms...helps me close my mouth when sleeping too
Hugging the pillow ‘the long way’ is so underrated but ur so right. I think that’s how I avoid my arm going to sleep and nothing feels too tight
@@AP-lg9kt that's how I avoid my ulnar nerve getting pinched it makes the right half of my hand go to sleep

Do you offer any solution to sleeping on your stomach.. let’s say for some reasons you absolutely had to.
Pillow under feet. It supports your lumbar
A whole in the bed where your head is so you can be faced down and not curve your neck bones.
I needa bigger plushie then bcs I am still able to roll over 😂😂

I got over sleeping on my stomach when I got pregnant.
OK but what about sleeping on my stomach with NO pillow under my head and both legs straight?
Yes. This is me!! Lol I always get laughed at by anyone that has seen me sleep as I guess I look like I'm planking. 😂
