I actually learned something here. Adjusting the pins before drilling holes makes perfect since. So if the pins are not the same height the holes won't be even. You did a good job making this video.
Questions. How long was the boont pin. I have a toyota celica mk2 4 head lights. I can only see a length of 5.5 cm. But does not seem long enough. Cheers Ac
@@TheDIYTuners Well I think you sound more like Dicaprio in Blood Diamond than Van Dyke in Mary Poppins but chim chimney cheerio matey I'll just have to take your word.
Personally I would if you can. I run my factory latch still as you never know how much air is going to get built up underneath. @robdahm is proof enough for that 🤣
Thanks for the quick reply! Rob dahm hood pins failed on him? And I can't run my factory hood latch, that's why I wanna know if these are strong enough
Have you seen the race vs the hoonicorn? I wouldn't say his failed more of a design issue as his car has a full flat floor no where for the air to go. And the latches are only rated to a certain force

Awesome, quick and to the point job! I will be installing my Aerocatch latches soon and it wont be 4:20. I wish it would be though haha
You can use a similar technique for aero catch’s just with two different size hole saws then cut between them with a cutting disk 👍
Love the accent! Where ya from? I'd have to guess south africa but honestly I've got no clue lol
🤣 Never been mistaken for South African before. I'm from the UK/England

Nice job!
How are these holding up? Holding down the hood well? Good video BTW.
Yep they doing well they help keep the bonnet lines spot on also which I like
1:00 is what i did on my mx5 i had 2 holes in the end. lol
Do I still need my factory hood latch for this?

Hmm,and how much did u pay for these? And can u link them?
These were a gift but if you search quiklatch they make some good quality ones
What brand are those pins
Ep racing I think from memory
Cool I'll bring all the bits to the next car show and u can fit for me in 10mins lol
You get dinner in and by time you get back with it I’ll have them fitted 😂
@@TheDIYTuners is this a recurring offer? 😅
Sure is mate I'll do anything for 5 selects 🤣
@@TheDIYTuners anything eh? So my bonnets getting done and a happy ending 😅
🤣 Dont spread the word mate I'll have everyone round
Would you recommend painting the part you drilled so it won’t rust?
Yes especially if your bonnet is steel. The rx7 bonnet is alluminium so not as bad corrosion wise
4.20min now smoke a victory cone
Un able to upload image..
Yeah 4 minutes and 22 seconds to do it, but how many years of experience and skill. Do t diminish your hard work.
I HOPE YOUR PARKINSONS TREATMENT GOES WELL...
😂 Thanks for your concern
