Hehehe, it's always good to share good tips when you are not in your country. And I have an other one: to Corte Inglês, downstairs, they sell some yarns, not a lot but most of the time you can find some Rosarios4's yarns at very good price 😉. And congratulations for this nice pattern. I would love to knit it or testknit it for you. I know quite well Campo d'Ourique and the little square in front the retrosaria where you can eat the best veggie burger 😊. Bjs
Isn't it just the cutest square. The veggie burgers are reallyyy good. And the chunky chips are to die for. Thank you so much for these tips Emma, I'm definitely dragging my partner to El Corte Inglês for lunch today 🤭 I just need to figure out a valid excuse for heading downstairs when all the restaurants are on top.... Bjs!
Even though we couldn't see the video of your rant I could definetly feel your pain. Most of the yarn brands that I see people using on here are so expensive in Chile I still cave in, and it hurts my pocket. On a different note it was nice hearing your opinion on the Julia bag, I really like it a lot but I always get scared with different stiches because I'm not that experienced but hearing your opinion on it will definetly count! I also really loved your pattern and the color you chose to knit it, I would love to get to try it. It's definetly something I could use this time of year.
Yes, give the Julia bag a try! The video instructions that are in the pdf make it foolproof. I learned a lot of new things from that pattern. You'll also need a type of starch/fabric stiffener spray at the end to make the bag stiffer. It was a super interesting and fun project all in all. On the bright side, the cost does make us really reflect before we buy which in turn makes each garment extra special :)
Thank you! You'll love the Sabai top, I'm on the body now and it's a quick knit. I do wish I casted on slightly tighter though because that will be the neckline so that's something to think about
I would absolutely love to knit your design! It's a beautiful top! I used to live in Campolide :) The owner of that shop is really nice, but she takes advantage of the fact that there's only two yarn shops in the area (I'm not criticizing her... it is what it is). I used to buy my Chiaogoo needles from the other one (Retrosaria Nuvem). Buying yarn in Lisbon can be quite expensive. If you want to buy Rosarios4, I would suggest buying online (Lindentea has lower prices on most of their yarns).
Thank you for the tips and for your interest in the top! I'm quite pleased with how it's turning out so would love to share with the people. I adore Campolide, so many cute shops and cafes around. I feel like they should have a couple of yarn shops too, that would fit right in with that vibe (I haven't seen one yet but maybe I didn't look hard enough). From my experience of yarn shops in Lisbon (4-5 I think) the prices seem to be the same so I really should've thought of that before I opened my mouth here and complained grumpy granny style. I had no idea they had ChiaoGoo needles in the other one (👏) I'll need to return there then. I went once but was quite confused with how they don't price the individual skein but the weight of the skein - my pea brain cannot handle the math and speaking Portuguese at the same time but now I've advanced with the language so it's about time to give it another try.
As I was watching this episode my 24 year old daughter was in the room watching as well, she saw your design and immediately asked if I can make the top for her. ❤😂
I definitely agree with LYS prices, but I still buy most of what I can from them. I’m nervous to buy online tbh. As far as the Rowan kidsilk mohair, they have beautiful colors, but I find everything I’ve made with it is too itchy unless I wear an underlayer
My local yarn shop - in rural UK - almost only carries synthetic yarns because people don't want to pay for real wool, so since I refuse to use plastic I have to buy online online unless I take the trouble to travel to Bath or Bristol to yarn shops there. And that just isn't worth it to me... 😢
I feel your pain 🥲I don't fully understand the appeal of synthetic yarns, surely that yarn shop must hear all the time that they should get some wool or cotton yarns in stock. But having an excuse for an exciting adventure to Bath and Bristol every now and then must be nice too - I think those cities are so charming
I really appreciate your teaching style and love your tips❤
Thank you, I'm glad you found them useful
TH-cam recommended your channel to me and I am glad it did! Love all you working on and all the best with your new design 😊
Thank you so much Sylvia! and thank you for sharing this
Love your vibe, as a mother of 3 daughters I like to keep my knitting more modern and you’re great inspiration
Oh thank you!
I am glad that found your channel. Really enjoy watching your podcast! I like your simple design can’t wait to try it!
So glad you enjoyed this episode and that you're excited for the pattern! Thank you for the nice comment 🫶

Haha, I feel the chocolate stains 😅 one of the reasons why I avoid wearing white at all.
And I'm really looking forward for your pattern release :)
Haha, smart girl! I'm still in the clutz-denial phase and think that one day I will be able to wear a white garment for more than 2 hours
I really like the light purple vest you were wearing. 💜
Thank you! It's the Selma slipover from wemadewardrobe
💌I am learning a lot. continue with your videos
Tysm Gladys! I'm glad to hear you find them useful

I look forward to seeing your pattern released! I just bought the yarn for my own Sabai top a few days ago. I'm hoping to start it Monday or Tuesday.

Your top design looks stunning! And you've influenced me to buy the boat neck top pattern :)
Yay, thank you 🫶 You won't regret the boat neck pattern - finished it this weekend and I've been wearing it ever since.
❤

Oh yay I'm glad to hear it's hitting it with the youngsters
Perfect vlog thank you. Watching from north west England. ❤ Lovely content.
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it. Today was a bit all over the place
So excited for your pattern! ❤
Thank you, that's so nice to hear 😊
Thank you very much!

Ohh that's good to know about the rowan yarn! I've been eyeing it for a while but this made me think twice. Thank you
